Praise the Lord, friends, and welcome to the broadcast. I’m so glad that you tuned in today. We are sharing today from my wife Barbara’s teaching. I have Barbara with me, I’m so excited about it, on “Present to Heal.” We’re gonna be talking about what does faith have to do with it. Did you know what faith in God will change your life? So open up your heart, receive the good word of God, and let the word build your faith. Blessing. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re with us today. And I’m sharing here with my wife Barbara. We’re actually teaching from her series on “Present to Heal.” And we’ve been talking about some of the roadblocks to receiving healing. And one of them is what does faith have to do with it? You know, Jesus many times said in the Gospels, “According to your faith be it done unto you. As you have believed, so be it done unto you.” So what we because is a lot of times what we receive. So if we wanna receive more, it’s imperative that we start believing what the Bible says.

Hallelujah, and that we can have faith. I like what the Bible says, “It is impossible to please God without faith.” In other words, it’s impossible to please him. Not only are we to have faith that he can do it, but that he loves you and cares enough to respond to you requests. You had brought that out on another broadcast, really, people are questioning God’s love for them. But what does faith have to do with it? The power of believing prayer. And this is in Mark 11:20 through 22, we’re gonna start off, and we have some great stories here in the Bible, some other great personal examples. This says, “Now in the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter remembering, said to him, ‘Rabbi, look, the fig tree which you cursed has withered away.’ So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God.'”

Praise God, you know faith in God will change your life.

Amen.

And a lot of times, we’re receiving exactly what we’ve been believing. But not only believing what we’ve been speaking, because the way that faith comes out, the way that faith is released is through our words. So Jesus went on to say, “Verily I say unto you, whoever shall say to this mountain, ‘Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea,’ and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, shall have whatsoever he saith.” So in a lot of cases, you know, what you’re receiving, what you’ve been believing, and what you’ve been saying. And you may argue with that, but that’s what Jesus said and it’s true.

Amen, amen. And it goes on to say in verses 25 and 26, this is Mark 11:25 and 26, it says, “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses, but if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” You know, we don’t want anything to be holding us back from moving forward into the amazing things that God has for us.

You know, and when we pray, when we release our faith through prayer, he says in verse 24, “Therefore, I say to you, what things soever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.” You know, what’s he saying? When you pray, when you get in the presence of God, you believe that you receive and you will have. You know, if you wanna change what you’re receiving, you gotta change what you’re believing. If you change what you’re believing, you’re gonna change what you’re speaking. You change what you’re believing and you’re speaking, you change what you’re doing, you change what you’re receiving, amen.

[Barbara] Amen.

So, that all fits together in the realm of faith.

[Barbara] Amen.

Jesus said, “Have faith in God.” One translation says it this way, “Lay hold on the faithfulness of God.” You know, the Bible actually says this in Hebrews chapter 11 about Sarah, “Through faith she received strength to conceive seed,” because she was convicted really of the faithfulness of God. God is a faithful God.

Amen, you know, since I have been little, we talked about how both our parents, our families took us to church, but I can just remember, even as just a small child, just feeling God’s presence with me and just believing that if it said it in his Word, I believed it was true. I have always found it easier to put my faith in God and his resources than man. God can use people, there’s no doubt about that, but it has just always been very simple childlike faith that it says it in the Word, well then it says God loves me, it says Jesus loves me, it says Jesus redeemed, purchased me back, forgave all my sins. Because he has forgiven me, he’s given me the power to forgive others and to walk in complete wholeness, to walk in joy, and that if anything tries to harm me, if the enemy tries to come, if there’s something wrong that I can expect and lean on him, rely on him, have faith that he will restore all health to me, and that when I pray for people, he’s going to back up his word. It was a number of years ago, but a woman had a health emergency or a health crisis during a church service. And immediately people gathered around her, prayed for her. To make a long story short, she went to the hospital, and when she came out of the hospital, not only had she been risen up and saved from a premature death, but she was off all 13 medications that she had been on. She was healed of everything.

Praise God.

And so I love that we can just simply believe what God’s Word says and have faith in God. I don’t know about you, but has there ever been a time that you thought, “If God doesn’t show up, what else is there?” I mean, it’s just like we need God, we need his power, and it’s so amazing that he is with us and that we can have a trust, we can have a simple childlike trust and a faith knowing that he is our heavenly Father, that I can put my faith in God, and that he does give us mountain-moving words. What are those words? Speak it. If you don’t know anything else to say, speak his words. You know, my mom taught me, “If you can’t say anything good, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” My point is, what are we supposed to be speaking? My husband just brought out that we’re to have faith in God, and that there’s power in our words, because Jesus said, you know, “I cursed this fig tree.”

[Lawson] Right.

And so what you say is important. So if you can’t think of anything yourself, take hold of the Word of God. This is something that we did as we were raising our children, whether we’re believing for healing, peace, prosperity, we would find it in his word and write it down on Scripture cards. You know, years ago and even some places, if you go to like, let’s say, New York City and you wanna do a carriage ride, or if you have friends that have horses and carriages, what I noticed in the city of New York, they would put these blinders on the horses. And that’s so they could only see what was straight forward, that they wouldn’t be distracted, they wouldn’t be scared or spooked. We don’t wanna be scared or spooked by terrible, negative circumstances. We wanna keep just our eyes forward on God’s word to keep moving forward on what he says, and don’t allow anything to spook us or distract us from God’s written word.

Amen. You know, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God,” in Romans chapter 10 verse 17. And when you read that in the Greek, it says something like, “Faith comes by declaration, and declaration by the mouth of God.” You know, not all preaching builds people’s faith, because not all preaching is

That’s true.

Declaring who God said that he is. But when you come and declare that God said, “I am the Lord your healer, I am the Lord your provider, I am the Lord your peace, I am the Lord your righteousness, I am the Lord your sanctification, I am the Lord your deliverer, I am the Lord your, all these different things, who is there. The seven redemptive names of God. Because the Old Testament is a progressive revelation of who God is. And when you come and preach who God is, when you declare who God is. Faith comes by declaration, and declaration by the mouth of God. So if we declare what God says, that builds faith in the heart of people. The challenge is a lot of people aren’t declaring what God says. So they’re not feeding people’s faith. But when you declare the word of God, the word of God will feed people’s faith, and it will build them up in the things of God, so they can begin to receive what grace has provided.

Amen, you know, it was a number of years ago, I was just having the weirdest symptoms. My body was just like doing all sorts of interesting things. And I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. You know, sometimes even medical professionals don’t give you much help. And I mean, we have medical professionals that come to our church. They’re amazing, they’re awesome, they’re gifted and talented. But I just wanna encourage someone, again, I go to God’s Word. And as my body was doing all sorts of negative symptoms, I just quoted this Scripture, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and my soul knows right well.” In other words, even in my soul, I know that he made me to be strong,

Praise God.

and to be healthy. You know, even scientists will tell you that our bodies are created to heal and restore.

[Lawson] That’s great.

That’s how, even the medical professional, even the scientists have studied that out and said that’s how our bodies are made and created. So that’s awesome, isn’t it?

You know, when you get your body working right, it’ll heal itself. It was created, God is the creator and he created it to heal itself.

Amen.

But thank God, God is the healer. And you know, Dr. Sumrall, Lester Sumrall, talked about the difference in medical healing and divine healing. And he said in medical healing, all that the doctors can do is sustain the life force that you have, and help your body essentially heal itself. But in divine healing, there is an impartation of the life of God. You know, Romans 8:11 says, “If the Spirit of him that raised up Christ from the dead dwell in you, he’ll quicken your mortal body by his Spirit that dwells in you.” And a lot of times in divine healing, it’s a process. Sometimes it can be a process of time that people receive their healing. But when somebody comes and lays hands on you. You know, I know I laid hands on a woman, too, well, just about a week and a half ago today, it was on a Sunday morning. And when I laid hands on this woman, the power of God, I mean, it was amazing. And I was over church, after church, and most of the people left, but she’s over, and they’d driven about 100 miles to be here, and they come pretty often. You know, we probably got 20 families that drive over 100 miles to come to church, and they come on a regular basis. And so, you know, she was there, and I said, “Hey, is there anything you need?” And she said, “No.” And then a couple minutes later, she came up to me, and she said, “Lawson, the Lord convicted me.” She said, “I have been dealing with arthritis for years, and I am really in bad shape.” Man, I laid hands on her, and the power of God came on this woman. And man, she started, you know, shaking her wrist, and I mean, we got her wrist free, and she said, “In every joint in my body.” And we just started getting her free. But the gave me a word and said, “For two weeks the power of God’s gonna be on you, and by the end of two weeks, you’re gonna be completely healed.” And I got that, because a number of years ago, a young man, I think he’s about 13 years old at the time, he came to church on Wednesday night. Before church, and he said, “Hey, Pastor, would you pray for my grandma?” I said, “Sure, I’ll pray for your grandma.” And anyway, his grandma came a little bit later, and we were walking down this hallway. And it was in a different building than we’re in now, but as we were walking down that hallway, I just reached my arm around his grandma, and the power of God came on his grandma. And her husband told me two weeks later, he said, “You know what,” or maybe in the next month, anyway. He said, “When you prayed for my wife the other night, she got hot, and she stayed hot for two weeks,” and he said, “She was on 13 medications, and by the end of the two weeks, she was off all but one medication,” prescription medications. God delivered her. It was a working of miracles. And you know what, these miracles. But anyway the other day this power of God came on this woman and she said, “I’m hot.” And I’m telling you, she was so hot, I’ve never seen this before. Her glasses steamed up. I mean, we’re sitting here in the sanctuary, it’s probably 72 degrees in there, you know, Colorado dry climate, and her glasses just steamed over. And it’s the power of God came on her so strong. And there were some, you know, about 20, 23, 24-year-old girls. They were just looking at her. Their eyes were about this big. They were just watching the Holy Spirit work.

Amen.

On this woman. And praise God, you know what the word of God works. And when you believe and speak the word of God, you put yourself in a place where the miracle-working power of God will go to work on your behalf. You know what, we’re gonna be back right after this break, and we’ll be sharing some more of this good news of God’s healing power. Praise the Lord, friends, we are teaching and sharing on the subject of divine healing. Thank God, Jesus made provision for us at the cross. And we have just as much as right to be healed in our body as we do to be forgiven of our sins. But how can we receive that in our life? We go through this in detail, and I have a healing bundle that I’m sharing with you. I wanna get this to you. You know, the Bible says that “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” And I know these teachings will build your faith. I have first of all, my series on “Covenant of Healing,” and then I have my series on “The Cross as a Cure.” And then we have my wife Barbara’s series, and she’s a powerful teacher and ministers healing in a very powerful and anointed way on “Present to Heal,” and how to receive divine healing and health in your life. I just wanna read, you were talking about just speaking it, and this is in 2 Corinthians 4:13, and I’ll have you read Hebrews 11:1, but again, this is 2 Corinthians 4:13, and it tells us this, “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written,” we’re talking about speaking God’s word, “I believed and therefore I spoke. We also believe and therefore we speak.”

[Lawson] Praise God.

Hallelujah.

So you know, in 2 Corinthians four, Paul is actually talking about how we get from the challenge that we’re facing on the outside to the victory that we have on the inside. So letting that victory that we have on the inside flow to the outside. And we get there by faith. And he says, “We having the same spirit of faith.” Now what’s the same spirit as who? It’s actually he’s quoting David and David quotes this in Psalm 116. But I believe David got it from God. And you know, many times David faced challenging and difficult odds. For instance, when he was up against Goliath, and Goliath came at him and said, “Listen, what am I a dog that you’re sending this little ruddy kid, this little pretty boy out here?” And David said, “You’re coming at me in the name of whatever, but I’m coming at you in the name of the God of Israel who you have defied. And I’m gonna cut your head off and feed you and your brothers to the birds.” And he did exactly what he said. But David said, you know, he’s quoting, he says, “I believed and therefore I spoke.” Because what you believe, you speak.

[Barbara] That’s right.

And that’s what Paul’s talking about in 2 Corinthians chapter four, he says, there’s all these challenges that are coming at us on the outside, but we keep believing and we keep speaking the word of God.

Amen, and this is another Scripture I wanted to share, this is Hebrews 11:1, it says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen.” We can’t go, you know, you mentioned that was what David spoke. We can’t talk about or make the focus on your circumstances, but believe and spoke what God’s word says, knowing that that is going to bring some change. And I also like this, this is found in 1 John 5:4 where it says, “This is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.”

[Lawson] Praise God.

Hallelujah, that’s exciting, isn’t it? I like that.

It goes on to say, “Whoever is born of God has overcome the world.”

Amen. That’s right.

“This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. So how do we overcome the world? By continuing to believe God, amen.

Amen.

You’re born again to win, amen.

I like that.

And you were made a winner when you were born again. But if you’re gonna operate in that victory that Jesus already won, you gotta keep believe and speaking the word. For instance, when God created the heaven and earth, how did he do it? See, in the beginning, what? God created the heaven and earth, the earth was without form and void, and it says, the Holy Spirit moved, right, on the face of the deep. I believe the Holy Spirit was creating a plan. But then after it said that in Genesis one, it says like nine times, “God said, God said, God said, God said, God said.” In other words, the Holy Spirit created this plan and then God called those things that be not as though they were. He called those things into existence. And that’s the same one. I believe David got it from God. So it may have looked like giant was an undefeatable enemy, but David, you know what, believed God, and because he believed God, he spoke, right? “You come at me in the name of your gods, but I’m coming at you in the name of the God of Israel who you’ve defied. And I’m gonna cut your head off and feed you and your brothers to the birds,” praise God. And did exactly what he said. And so when David was facing a great challenge, the way that he responded to that challenge was by faith. He spoke the word of God. And many of you today may be facing great challenges, but if you wanna overcome those challenges, you need to speak the word of God, you need to start saying what God says about you. You see God’s word has power, but God’s word has power in your mouth. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” And when you put that Scripture, that’s Proverbs 18 verse 21 with 2 Corinthians chapter four verse 13, and you quoted that before in 2 Corinthians four, and it says, you know, “We having the same spirit of faith according to as it is written, ‘I believed and therefore have I spoke,’ spoke and we also believe, and there we speak.” You keep believing and speaking what God says. Jesus said it this way in Mark 11, he said, “This is how faith works, have faith in God, for verily I say unto you, whosoever shall say unto this mountain, ‘Be thou removed, and be thou cast in the sea,’ and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore, I say unto you, whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe that you received them and you shall have them.” So if you really believed that you received the word of God, you’re gonna start speaking the word of God. And one way that we see the word work is by speaking the word of God. So you begin to believe and speak what God says, 1 Peter 2:24, “By his stripes I was healed.” I’m already healed, amen. You start saying Jeremiah 30 verse 17, “He restores health to me and heals me of his wounds.” Psalm 103, “He forgives me for every sin, and he heals every disease,” that’s Psalm 103 verse three. You start saying Psalm 91 verse 10, “He gives his angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways, and no plague comes near my dwelling.” You go on over to Psalm 91 and verse 16, “With long life I’ll satisfy you and show you my salvation.” Exodus 20:25, I’ll bless your bread,” Lord I thank you that you bless my bread and you bless my water and you take sickness from the midst of me. Exodus 15 verse 26, “I am the Lord who heals you.” You start saying, praise God, 3 John 2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.” Lord, I thank you that I’m prospering and I’m in health even as my soul prospers. You start believing and speaking what God says about you. I’m healthy and I’m strong and I’m doing the will of God. The same spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in me and quickens my mortal body. No weapon formed against me prospers, hallelujah. We just start saying what God says about us, and when we begin to say it, then we move into it, praise God. How’s that work? Have faith in God, right? We started with this, Mark 11 verse 22, “For verily I say unto you,” verse 22, “whosoever shall say unto this mountain, ‘Be thou removed and be thou cast in the sea,’ and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe those things which he say, it shall come to pass, shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. So keep praying keep believing, keep speaking the word of God, and you’re gonna have what God says.

I love that, I appreciate you doing that. We’re gonna look in the Scriptures again, and this is found in Mark 5:25 through 34, just exactly what you are saying about a woman who had an issue of blood. She had been to the physicians, hallelujah there, there’s a lot of times people have this other misconception, you’re not operating in faith if you go to a medical expert that, you know, we pray for people, we’ve put people in our cars to go get help. We are here to assist people and believe with them, pray with them, and hallelujah, we know that God can heal and restore their flesh, but I love how it says, “There was a certain woman who had a flow of blood for 12 years. She suffered many things, but she heard about Jesus.” And she just kept saying within herself, she had heard the word, she had heard about Jesus healing. So it started stirring that faith up and that faith began to get stronger and rise up in her. And then she’s like, “If I just touch him.” You know, we can come to God, we can come to his word, we can come to Jesus and expect to be healed. And I’m gonna have you finish this story, but as you were talking about what people say, I don’t know if you’ve been around two different types of people. Some just bring joy, health and strength and life to situation, and other people, it’s just like they suck all the joy out of the room.

[Lawson] Right.

You know, there’s people that just, “Oh, I’m so tired, I’m so tired, I’m tired, I’m really tired.” Did you keep saying that long enough, even if you woke up feeling really good, you’re gonna start feeling tired. And then you can be around other people who are like, “I got the life of God. You know, we were around Dr. Lester Sumrall, you went to Bible school there.

[Lawson] Amen.

And he just spoke faith and that, you know, that he was just full of joy and full of life, and it was contagious. We want the word of God and what we speak to be contagious and to bring strength and life into a situation.

Amen. You know, this woman in Mark chapter five, she said within herself, “If I could but touch him, I will be made whole.”

That’s right.

That’s what it says in Matthew 9:21. One translation says, she said and kept on saying. And there’s this crowd of people thronging Jesus, and she’s been sick bleeding for 12 years. And she’s been to many physicians, spent all her money, nothing better, and rather getting worse. But when she hears of Jesus, she presses through this crowd. I can literally see her crawling through the dirt, “If I can just touch him, if I can just touch him, if.” And then when she touches him, she feels in her body that she’s healed of that plague. “Immediately,” it says in verse 29 of Mark five, “the fountain of her blood was dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus immediately knowing in himself that virtue,” he felt the goodness of good leave, he felt the power of God go out in him, “turned in the crowd and said, ‘Who touched my clothes?’ And the disciples said, ‘Lord, the multitudes thronging you and you say, “Who touched me?”‘” But you know the touch of faith is different.

[Barbara] Amen.

And he looked around and when he saw the woman that did this thing, she fearing and trembling, knowing what was done, came and fell down before him and told him all the truth. And he said to her,” in verse 34, “Daughter, your faith has made you whole. Your faith has made you well. Your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be healed of your plague, be whole.” Praise God, you know what, your faith, faith in God will change your life, amen. And I thank God. You know, you talked about Dr. Lester Sumrall speaking the word of God, he was raised up under Smith Wigglesworth. He went to Smith’s house one time in England, and he brought a newspaper with him, and he showed up at the front door, and he met Smith, said, “Smith, how you feeling today?” He said, “I don’t ever ask myself how I feel, I tell myself how I feel. I get up every morning and I dance 10 minutes before God.” And then he said, “By the way, you put that newspaper, you leave that outside. No bad news comes in my house,” praise God. And if you’ll get that bold and audacious about the word of God, you’ll be like Smith Wigglesworth casting out devils and healing the sick and raising the dead.

I like what you said as a young teenager that you said after hearing the word of God, and read it, “I don’t have to be sick, I don’t have to be poor, I don’t have to be defeated.” That’s a word for each and every one of you today as well.

Amen. You know what, when you believe the promise of God, when you believe the word of God, faith in God will change your life.
