Missions Ministry And Miracles – Part 3 Lawson Perdue and Mario Venzor

Jesus said, “The same works that I do and greater works than these shall he do because I go to my father, he who believes on me.” This is a believer’s ministry.

Missions Ministry And Miracles Transcript

Hey everyone, I’m so glad that you’ve tuned in today. I have my good friend Mario Venzor. We’re talking about missions, we’re talking about ministry, we’re talking about miracles. And today we’re talking about our authority in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. You don’t wanna miss this broadcast, so stay tuned and receive the good word of God today. You’ll be blessed and tell your friends. Blessings. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re with us today, I have my good friend Mario Venzor with me today. He’s a missionary here, right around our city, everywhere he goes, different places, he goes and shares and also goes to Mexico sometimes, takes trips. He sees lots of people saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. Mario, it’s great to have you. And we’ve been talking about how every believer is to share the gospel. And we talked about that, Jesus said these signs will follow them that believe, we were yesterday in John 14:12 where Jesus said, “The same works that I do and greater works than these shall he do because I go to my father, he who believes on me.” This is a believer’s ministry.

  Yes.

And it’s through the believer’s authority. In fact, you could get my teaching on our authority in Christ. It’s actually free of charge, it’s on the internet, on our website, free of charge. Download it. Take advantage of it. Audios, videos, we got 100s of them, different things. But we talked about how in John 14, 15 and 16, Jesus taught, really, he was preparing his disciples for his departure. And he talked about two things, he talked number one, he said, “The Holy Spirit is gonna come. I’m not gonna leave you as orphans.” But number two, he said, “I’ve given you authority.” And we have authority in the name of Jesus over all the works of the devil. Now Mario, you’ve seen lots of miracles. Praise God. You talked about yesterday, how your sister was healed. She wasn’t able to have children. She had twins.

  Yes.

When you prayed for her, God blessed her. You’ve seen people healed of cancer.

  Yes.

You’ve seen people healed of lameness. All kinds of, crippled, all kinds of disease. You’ve seen people healed. In fact, I had a man come to you Sunday and his wife, you prayed for his wife. And I told him, ’cause I was gonna be out of town. I said, now you have Mario Venzor and the head of my prayer team, Judith Carter.

  Yeah.

So you and Judith and my wife Barbara prayed for a woman, and I’m gonna text him later. I know this ’cause Barbara said this morning, and I’d already been thinking these thoughts and this woman has a tumor, a very large tumor on the inside of her. But we had a woman in our church about 25 years ago. Her name’s Patty Michick from Kit Carson, Colorado. I love Jim and Patty Michick. They’re some of my best friends in the whole world. Partners with us. Their daughter, Rachel is here, helps lead worship, her husband Aaron is one of our main worship leaders, Aaron Scaggs. But about 25 years ago, Patty had a tumor removed. They said it was bigger than a grapefruit. She had some others, but she is completely healed.

  Praise the Lord.

Amen, she did not die, she lived. She’s declaring the works of the Lord.

  Yes.

And I’m gonna go and tell the husband of this woman.

  Yes.

I’m gonna tell him today because Barbara said, she’s gonna be like Patty. She’s gonna be completely healed. This is gonna be the same thing. And I already had those thoughts, I said, “Honey, I already had those thoughts.” And that’s what’s gonna happen, she’s gonna be completely healed. And now we’re 25 years later, she’s living, she’s healthy, she’s well, she’s strong, she’s blessed. So glory to God, Amen. So we have authority in the name of Jesus over all the works of the devil. And in Jesus said, he who believes on me, the works that I do in greater works, he who believes on me. This is a believer’s ministry. And he said, we take authority in the name of Jesus because of redemption. Because I go onto my Father. The blood has been shed, the price has been paid, and now Jesus is seated at the right hand of God. He sent the Holy Spirit and given us authority to go in the name of Jesus who want the power of the Holy Spirit. In John 15, we talked about this in verse seven yesterday. Jesus said, “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be.” What do you want? If you abide in me, there’s only two conditions, and my words abide in you. But then the next one, look at this one in verse 16, Jesus says this, John 15:16, “You have not chosen me, but I’ve chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit. God wants every believer to bring forth fruit that your fruit should remain. That whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” We’ve got authority to go in the name of Jesus and do what God’s told us to do.

What a deal, pastor, what a deal. we did not come up with this wonderful book, I mean, before I got born again, the farthest thing from my mind is to do these things. But he says, “You did not choose me, I chose you.” And I’m telling you, I’m not gonna leave you in the dark about this. I’m gonna tell you what authority is all about. And that’s what I do when I go anywhere. I said when I get into the plane, I say, We’re going to the other side.

  Amen.

We’re not gonna crash. We’re going to the other side. When I put my foot in Mexico or any other country, I go, I said, hey, the Lord says, wherever my feet tread belongs to the kingdom. So you gotta find a point of contact to release your faith. And that’s what we endeavor to do with people. They say, “Use your faith as a point of contact to receive the moment we pray for you.”

  Amen.

Because faith without corresponding actions is dead. And we tell people, I heard you say to people, Start doing something that you couldn’t do before after we pray, don’t just stay there. And when the Lord says, hey, talk to that mountain and tell it to move, that’s authority. And but at the same time, in your mind, you gotta prepare yourself for a new panorama.

Yeah, you gotta get a new picture.

There you go. And so Mark Hankins said, these six months that are coming, they’re gonna be where you’re gonna get a double. And I’m preparing myself for that. What will the double look like? And then he says, “If you’re not satisfied with that, double it again and double it again because we should live in this supernatural increase.” And you always do that, you always endeavor and help us, to stir us up along these lines of faith, or not stuck, being stuck in one thing, but just go and take territory.

Amen, in the name of Jesus.

In the name of Jesus, the Lord wants us to, hey, this land, this earth, I did not make it for the devil and his crowd.

  Amen.

I made it for my children.

  There you go.

The earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof.

  Amen.

So we should go for it, we should stick our neck out and say, Lord, here I am, you gave me an authority.

I wanna talk about that and we’ll be back here in John. But this earth is our place, this is not the devil’s place.

A lot of people say, Satan is the God of this world, he’s the God of this present evil age, but he’s not my God.

  No.

I have authority over him in the name of Jesus. And when you read Psalm 115, and I’m gonna just, in the very end of the chapter, I’m gonna read some verses here in Psalm 115, because this really fits on to what you’re talking about. In Psalm 115, it says this, it’s talking about, “Trust in the Lord, he is your help, your shield. Oh, house of Aaron.” You see, we’re the priest of the believers today.

  Yes.

“Trust in the Lord, he is your help and your shield, you who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord, he’s your help and your shield.” The Lord will bless you, he’ll also protect you, right? He’s your help and your shield. “The Lord hasn’t been mindful of us, he will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel.” He’s gonna bless his covenant people. We’re his covenant people today.

  Yes we are.

He’s gonna bless the house of Aaron, he’s gonna bless the priesthood. Now we are a priesthood of believers, according to First Peter Chapter Two, According to the book of Hebrews, Jesus is the great high priest of this new covenant church. He says, “He will bless those who fear him, small and great.” You start wherever you’re at. Believe in God, he’ll bless them small and great. The Lord will increase you more and more. the Lord revealed to me a lot of people struggling in the area of finances, it’s because they have no revelation of their authority. And he says, “The Lord will increase you more and more, you and your children. You are blessed of the Lord who made heaven and earth. Even the heavens are the Lord’s, but the earth has he given to the children of men.” Right there it is, this earth is our place.

  Amen.

This is not the devil’s place, this is our place. I like what you say, when I go, I say, Put my foot there, this is my place. I like something Dr. Sumrall said, he said he went to Russia and all these people were acting like, well, why do you belong here? And he said, well, before you were here, and he just told him. And you talk about a man authority.

  Yes, yes, yes.

He talked about a story. This is kind of a funny story. When he was a kid at school, there was this bully, and he said he was about six inches taller. Lester wasn’t a very big guy. And he said he was going around beating everybody up, bullying everybody, and he said, I just took him out to the curb and I put him in the gutter. He said, “That made me eye to eye with him.” And he said, “I hit him in the nose and I broke his nose.” Hallelujah. what, you gotta take authority. The devil is a bully.

  Yeah.

And you gotta take authority over the works of the devil, so quit letting the devil run over you, quit letting him play havoc in your finances, quit living the devil play havoc in your body. You take authority in the name of Jesus over all the works of the devil.

  Amen.

Praise God, now we go back to John 15, he talks about that whatever I called you to, I’ve chosen you, this isn’t your idea.

  Yeah, yeah.

You go and preaching to people and getting people healed and set free. This isn’t your idea, this is God’s idea.

  Yes.

I like how you said God raised you up and your mama’s worried about you. Said, you’re kind of defiling the family religion. He said, mama, I was a drunk, I was a town drunk. Now I’m getting people saved and healed. She watched you about it for a year and said, hey, pray for me. Glory to God. I need some of what you got. Everybody needs the Holy Ghost.

  Yes, yes, yes.

Everybody needs the Holy Ghost. I don’t care what denomination you are, I don’t care what color you are, I don’t care whether you’re a man, whether you’re a woman, whether you’re a boy, whether you’re girl. You need to get saved and you need to get filled with a Holy Ghost.

  Amen.

Hallelujah. Change your life for good. Now, in John 16, he talks about authority again. And he said, he says this in John 16:23-24, he said, “In that day, the day Jesus is raised from the dead.”

  Yes, yes.

He said, “You’ll ask me nothing. Verily I say unto you, truly, truly, I tell you, whatever you ask in the Father in my name, he will give it to you.” So he’s gonna give you prayer direction and power of the Holy Spirit. “Before now you’ve asked nothing in my name, ask and you shall receive that your joy may be full.” Jesus wants your joy to be full. He wants you to understand the authority that you have in his name, authority to do the works of Jesus. Authority to ask whatever you want, whatever the Bible promises you. John 15:7, John 14:12-14, authority to establish redemption. Amen, authority to ask whatever the Bible promises. Authority to do what God’s called you, John 15:16. And finally, authority to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.

  Amen.

So praise God. We’re gonna talk more about this when we come back. So stay tuned, we’re gonna be right back after this break, and we’re gonna talk about the other thing Jesus talks about in John chapter 14, 15 and 16, preparing his disciples for his departure. He talks about the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit. You need him, I need him.

  Yes.

We all need him. I wanna tell you about something great coming up at Charis Christian Center, it’s our 22nd anniversary.

God can work all kinds of miracles, but you and I have to believe that God can.

You’re the one that has authority, not the devil. And you’ve gotta get mad and come against that thing.

We want you to come, we want you to be here. For more information, go to our website at charischristiancenter.com.

Look what God has done for you. I mean, aren’t you so glad God restores all of us?

  Yes.

And even to above and beyond, God brings, when he does it, when he restores something, it’s even more than you could have imagined. And I love that again, when God did something for us, it affects others and then other people even see it and testify to the goodness of God.

Friends, I’m so glad you stayed with us, we’ve been talking about our authority in Jesus’ name, and we’re talking about missions, miracles and ministry. And if you’re gonna operate in missions, miracles, and ministries, you need to know your authority. And we’re also gonna talk about the Holy Spirit, because it’s the Holy Spirit. Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “All power.” He said that in actually Matthew 28. But in Acts 1:8, Jesus said, “But you shall receive power after the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you’ll be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost part of the earth.” That word power is, means the special, wonderful miracle working power, the same power the Jesus have. We’ve been entrusted, we’ve been endued, clothed with power from on high. God has invested the power of the Holy Spirit in us. What are we doing with it?

I think T. L. Osborn said, “Poor devil”, he said.

  Boy, I like that one.

He said, “Poor devil, he doesn’t stand a chance.” He says and I’d imagine power like dynamite or when a train is coming down the tracks at 80 miles an hour and a pig gets on it’s way and he just blown to a smithereens. I think that’s the power of the Holy Spirit to dissolve cancers, to just deliver people, to heal the heart. But first of all, to know the Father, to know Jesus, to reveal to us the love of God and our righteousness. But when I got full of the Holy Spirit, he says, “You shall be full with the Holy Spirit and with fire. And I seen the fire on you, brother. Somebody said, the flies cannot land on a hot stove. When you are full of the Holy Spirit, when you are full of power, it is like joy unspeakable and full of glory. And the half has not been told. Why has the half has not been told? Because we have not been telling it. So we need to go tell people about the power of God, the ability of God on the inside of us. And like somebody said, He says, sometimes the Holy Ghost, we’re full of the Holy Spirit and we should be full of compassion, full of authority, full of direction, full of giving, full of talking and full, because out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth leaketh, the mouth speak. And we’ve been talking about it. Yes, yes, yes.

I like something you said, I’m gonna talk about that and then I’m gonna go back to something else you said. One thing you said is we should be full of compassion. This is really interesting, I went and I taught in Shelbyville, Tennessee this past Sunday, and my son Aaron preached here, in church did a very good job. But when I went there Wednesday night, in the middle of the night, or Thursday morning, God woke me up and said, “I want you to teach on a ministry of compassion.” And I went in the Bible, and I read how Jesus ministered in compassion. And I studied this compassion in the ministry of Jesus, he ministered, he taught in compassion, he ministered healing, deliverance, miracles, raised people from the dead, all through, he fed the hungry through compassion, he delivered the oppressed through compassion, he healed the sick through compassion, he taught the word of God, he had a teaching, preaching, healing ministry. He taught the word of God through compassion. He ministered through compassion. The Bible actually says this, “Jesus reigns today from a throne of grace.” Hebrews 14 or 4:14-16. And we’re to come bolded the throne of grace. But it says something in Hebrews 5:2 about Jesus, our great high priest, it says, “He is able to have compassion on those who are out of the way, those who are ignorant, we got a lot of ignorant people doing a lot of ignorant things. And he says on those not only who are ignorant and who are outta the way, those who aren’t saved, those who are just saved, but stupid, ignorant. But he’s also able to have compassion on those that are kind of doing the wrong thing. I have to read the scripture here, Hebrews 5:2 In that he himself is compass with infirmity, with weakness. Jesus is able, as a great high priest, to have compassion on those who are out of the way, those who are not yet saved, on those, number two, who are ignorant, they’re saved, but they’re stupid. And he says, on those who are compassed, in that he’s compass with infirmity. Jesus was tempted in all points like we were, he was a man, but yet he never sinned. He was perfectly holy. That’s why he had authority over the devil and gave us authority over the devil.

  Yes he did.

And it’s really, he made us righteous. And we’ll be talking about that probably more tomorrow. But thank God for the Holy Spirit. But when I taught this, it was really amazing ’cause they had a Sunday school class, I wasn’t in the Sunday school class. And in their Sunday school class, Barry Bennett was teaching. And Barry Bennett was teaching on ministering healing through compassion. And they said, Pastor, you taught just exactly what was taught in Sunday school. That was the Holy Spirit that woke me up.

  Yes.

Wednesday night, in the middle of the night or Thursday morning and said, do you teach on a ministry of compassion? Praise God the Lord ministers from compassion and we need to we see a lot of things that are wrong in the world, but we still need to have compassion. And minister through compassion, but thinking about the Holy Spirit, Jesus gave us authority. And then Jesus gave us the power of the Holy Spirit.

  Amen.

So are we not perils? He said in John 14, we’ll read this in verse 15, he said, or 16, he said, I’ll pray the Father and he’ll give you another comfort, or that word comforter in the Greek is Paraclete. One called alongside the helper, the comforter, the advocate, the intercessor, the aide, the assistant. He pleads another’s case. The Holy Ghost is working on my behalf that he may abide with you forever, even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it sees him not neither knows him. You gotta be born again before you can receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, “But you will know him for he dwells with you and shall be in you, I will not leave you comfortless.” That word comfortless in the Greek is something like. I’m not gonna leave you as an orphan. You see, the disciples were concerned because they sold out everything to follow Jesus. And yet Jesus said, listen, I’m not gonna leave you by yourself. I’m not gonna leave you on your own, I’m gonna give you the Holy Spirit. In verse 26, he says, the comforter is the Holy Spirit who the Father will sin in my name, he will teach you. See the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost right there in that verse, he said, “He will teach you all things and bring all things to remembrance”, I said to you, the first thing the Holy Spirit does cause the word to come alive.

  Yes, yes, he does.

In John 15:26, he said, “He’ll testify me.” So he makes Jesus real to us.

  Yes.

  Praise God.

I love to read John 14, 15, 16, and 17 because they’re like last instructions to your kids, before I go. And I just get amazed of the trust that the Lord had in the Holy Spirit. I wouldn’t leave the kingdom to a bunch of guys like. But that’s the Holy Spirit.

Read the letters in black in John 14, Aaron’s taught a message on this, and this is the disciples without the Holy Spirit. Jesus already been with them for over three years and they’re kind of acting crazy. Lord. but he said, listen, I’m gonna send the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah, so he had confidence in the Holy Spirit.

Yes. And I like too, when I’m reading that, because I camp in there for years, because every time I camp on John 14 where he’ll remind you of things. I just sit there and park there and the Holy Spirit starts reminding you of things, the promises he made, and it’s just so awesome, it might not be so spectacular, but it’s supernatural that way he talks to your heart and it’s just so comforting to know how he pacifies your heart no matter what you’re going through. And you park in John 14, 15, 16, 17. And some people say, well, I always get revelation out of these scriptures. I always get revelation when the holy, when I camp there and read about the Holy Spirit.

  Amen.

Because he assists you in such a way that he starts to remind you of the scriptures, the promises. And I know that’s God talking to me, because that’s the most honorable thing hearing from God is when he reminds you of scriptures of promises. And so it is wonderful to have the Holy Spirit as your comfort and telling you, you are not an orphan and you’re not without power and you’re not without gifts. I’m your greatest fan. And then he shows you that love of God at a heart level because you hear testimonies of other people, how God did this and that, but when he’s talking to you personally and not like you are not a part of the herd. That’s what’s so wonderful about having Jesus as your own personal savior and Lord, because he’s so personable. And I love that about the Holy Spirit. And then he starts telling you, you’re better off if you do it this way, you are better off if you think this way. I like what you say one time, if you wanna keep friendships, you start thinking of the positive thing of a person. That’ll get you out of your stinking thinking or resentment against anybody. And start being thankful for that person. And you start seeing things in a different light. It’s so wonderful to have this mind renew with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Thank God for the Holy Spirit, it’s amazing. Hey, we got just a few seconds. So if you’ve never received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, you can receive that. It’s a gift. You gotta be born again, you have to know Jesus. If you haven’t been born again, you can receive that. You can give us a call today, I have prayer ministers, we see lots of people filled with the Holy Spirit, but just take a few seconds and pray for people to receive the Holy Spirit.

Amen. The Lord gave the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost and he’s just waiting for you to receive it. But like Pastor said, you gotta be born again first. So say this prayer, Lord Jesus.

  Lord Jesus.

I acknowledge you as my Savior and Lord. And Lord Jesus, thank you for forgiving all my sins. And Lord Jesus outta your hand now I receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Lord. And I’m gonna raise my voice, the first time I spoke the word of God, now I’m going to speak in tongues. So raise your voice, say, Lord I receive and raise your voice. And start letting those syllables come out, they might sound a little strange, but once you get into the water, you’re going to like it. You’re gonna like this refreshment. So say, thank you Lord for baptizing me in the Holy Ghost and fire. I praise you and glorify you. Now in tongues, praise the Lord. Go ahead, go ahead. That’s the flow, that’s the Holy Spirit. Thank you very much, God bless you.

Amen, you can find out more about that on our website, receiving our free teaching at charisschristiancenter.com. Or you can call us at the church and we have prayer ministers that are waiting to pray for you. Thank you so much for being with us, blessings.

I got a word from God. A lot of believers want Shazam, and a lot of times the things of the kingdom of God aren’t Shazam. Jesus said, “Everything operates according to the parable, the sower, the kingdom.” How of the devil is a enemy of the word because he knows if you get ahold of the word of God, the word of God is literally gonna change your life.
