Healing Covenant

God doesn’t change– He stays the same! All throughout the Bible, we see that it is clearly God’s will to heal. When the Israelites left Egypt, God told them that He is the LORD who heals them. There are so many promises in the Bible for healing. All of these promises still remain true and are part of God’s covenant with believers through the finished work of Jesus. If you are a follower of Jesus- you can see that He is a healer. He was either healing someone, going to heal someone, or coming from healing someone. As you listen to these teachings, we know that faith will be stirred in your heart and that your faith will make you well in Jesus’ name!

Healing Covenant Transcript

Praise the Lord, friends, and welcome to the broadcast. We’re gonna be talking today about how you can understand God’s will from the Scriptures. And I believe lots of people are gonna be healed today, even as we’re sharing and teaching on this broadcast. If you know someone that needs to receive healing, encourage them to tune into the broadcast today, and receive God’s good Word. I believe you’re gonna be blessed today in Jesus’ name. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re with us today. We’ve been teaching all of this week on why we can understand that healing is God’s will. And we really started in Mark 1:40-45, where a leper came to Jesus and said, “Lord, I know that you can heal me, if you will.” You know, a lot of people today have that same question. They know the Lord can, but they just don’t know his will. But faith begins where the will of God is known. And Jesus immediately responded, “I will be thou clean.” The second reason that we talked about that we can know the will of God in divine healing this week on the program is this, that the nature of God, the true nature of God, is that he said, “I am the Lord, your healer,” Exodus 15:26, “I am Jehovah Rapha,” or, “I am Yahweh Rapha,” praise God? So the promises of God really come from the nature of God. And then we begin to talk about in the program yesterday, that we can know the will of God in divine healing, with the promises of God. Thank God the promises of God reveal that divine healing is the will of God.

You know, one thing that’s great to do is actually to do a personal study of healing Scriptures. And you just see that the Bible is full of healing Scriptures. You know, there’s probably hundreds of healing Scriptures, and at different points in my life, I’ve gone and taken just little postcards and you know, wrote down the healing Scriptures on them. I’ve taken, you know, like a bundle of little cards that I used to use to, like, to study for school, but I write down healing Scriptures on them, and I’ll keep ’em in my pocket, or keep ’em in my backpack. And just as I’m walking around throughout the day, or sometimes just at a red light, I’ll pull ’em out and I’ll read it, and I’ll say it out loud.

  Amen.

But it’s a powerful thing to do. And I’ve actually, you know, one time I was praying for a young, he’s gonna be on our show later, his name’s Jackson. He was healed of just a lot, like he was one of the sickest kids I’ve ever met. And one time when I was praying over him with his family, I gave him, I just handed him these healing Scriptures I had.

  Amen.

And I believe that he read ’em and took them to heart. And the Word of God will produce a harvest. The Word of God is powerful, it’s purposeful, it never changes. So I encourage you to just, you know, take some of these Scriptures we’re gonna share with you, and as they minister to you, the Word will minister to you. It’ll touch your heart, it’ll impact your soul. But just write ’em down and remind, meditate on them, read them out loud, pray them, believe them, and keep doing that.

  Amen.

Just make it part of who you are. And I believe that it’ll change your life. The Word of God does not return to him void, but it accomplishes that which it’s sent for, and it’s powerful.

Amen, you just quoted in Isaiah 55, it talks about that. You know, Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent his Word and healed them and delivered them from all their destructions.” You know, Satan wants to destroy you, but God wants to heal you. Jesus said, “It’s the thief that comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I’ve come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly.” Part of life more abundantly is receiving healing and health from God. And we’re not saying you never get sick, but praise God, you got Bible promises that you can believe and receive what God said. How did we get saved? We heard the Word that Jesus died on the cross, and took our sin and we believed it, right? And God raised him from the dead and made him Lord. That’s the same way that we get healed. We heard that Jesus died on the cross, and took stripes for our healing. This is what Isaiah prophesied of in Isaiah 53:3-5. He saw Christ on the cross, foresaw it some six to 700 years before Christ. This is what Matthew talked about when he looked at Jesus, as he was healing the sick, said, “This is what Isaiah was talking about.” Peter looked back on it in 1 Peter 2:24, and said, “Who his own self bear our sin in his body on the tree, that we being dead to sin should live unto righteousness by whose stripes, by whose wounds you were healed.” Peter said, “It’s already done.” We’re not trying to get God to do it. We’re just believing that what God made available to us on the cross, we receive what he promised. You know, we got all these different promises. Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My son, attend to my words. Give ear to my sayings, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the midst of your heart, for they are life to all those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” That word health, Aaron, is the Hebrew word marpe, and it means medicine. The Word of God is medicine to our flesh. That’s what you were talking about. You had these Scriptures, and you would meditate on ’em, and as you meditated on ’em, you’d receive the power of God in your body, and receive divine healing. You gave them to Jackson, we’re gonna have him on the show next week, a powerful, powerful testimony of healing. But you know what? He kept hearing the Word, hearing the Word, hearing, and then one day he woke up and said, “Man, I’m done with this sickness. I’m done with the devil,” he’s gonna be tested. And God completely healed him. His doctors say it’s a miracle, praise God. You know, Jesus is a miracle worker. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And you need to believe the Bible.

I know something that you heard years ago that someone said, if someone is believing an actual promise of God, believing and standing on an actual Scripture, when they come up for prayer, they’re a lot more likely to actually receive when they receive prayer. Now you don’t have to just take a shot in the dark with God concerning healing. You can act there. There’s so many Scriptures you can stand on and believe. And as you pray, you know, stand on specific promises of God.

Amen, you know, this pastor talked about this. He pastored a church, at one time I believe it was about 3,000 people in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and he’s a good friend of ours. He’s ministered to our church a number of times. But he said they found out that if people were believing a specific Scripture when they came up for prayer, that they had twice as much results in actually receiving those promises from God. So we need to believe the promise. See, we said the first reason is the true nature of God. God said, “I am the Lord who heals you.” But the second reason is because of what God promised. And God’s promises come from his nature. God doesn’t make promises that are contrary to his nature. So we have promises of healing, right? Jeremiah 30:17 is a good one. It says, “I will restore health to you, and heal you of your wounds.” I many times send people notes and put promises in ’em, because I’m encouraging them to believe God. In verse 18, this is in the Modern English Version, it says, “I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents.” I just love that too, I love when God blesses us, not only with healing and health, but also financial provision and prosperity. And here’s another promise, it’s found in Malachi 4:2, it’s a promise of Jesus. It says, “But to you who fear my name shall the Son of Righteousness arise with healing in his wings.”

I love that one. I believe that’s actually a prophecy of, we’ll talk about it later, about the woman with the issue of blood. You know, she heard about Jesus. She heard that he was healing people. And she had this issue of blood for 12 years that said that she spent all of her money on the best doctors, but she just kept getting worse and worse. But she heard about Jesus. You know, faith starts when you hear about Jesus. So she heard about Jesus, and she started to say within herself, “If I can just touch the hem of his garment,” and actually in Hebrew, the hem of the garment, the hem, it’s the same word in Hebrew for wings that we see in Malachi 4:2, “The Son of Righteousness will arise with healing in his wings.” So the Jews would wear these garments, and on the edge of the garments, on the hem of the garment, they would have these tassels with blue and white cords. And they were symbolic of the promises of God. And when they would see these tassels, you know, orthodox Jews still wear these things today, when they would see these tassels, it reminded them to believe the Word of God, to trust in his promises.

  Amen.

So she said, “I’m gonna lay hold of the wings of his garment.” And when she did, she pressed through the crowd, and she touched the hem of his garment. And it said that, you know, dunamis power, the anointing healing power of God flowed through her, and she knew in that instant that she was healed.

She felt in her body that she was healed.

And I’ve prayed for people, I’ve laid hands on people and prayed for them. They’ve said, “I felt something. I felt warmth, I felt electricity, I felt.” You know, just this past Sunday I prayed for a young man, he’s about 30 years old. He just started coming to our church a few weeks ago. He drives from an hour away, and he just said, “I love coming here.” But he wanted me to pray for him, ’cause he likes to work out. He’s young, he’s strong, but he just said, “I can’t do anything overhead, ’cause I just have this sharp pain in my shoulder.” And I prayed over him just a very simple prayer, but I prayed the Word of God.

  Amen.

And I cursed the pain, and I just commanded life to come into his ligaments, into the nerves, and just the inflammation would go. So as I prayed a very simple prayer, he said, “I felt warmth in my arm.” And he was really excited to go, to try it out, and to work out and see what he could do.

Amen, Aaron, we had a women’s conference here recently, our Rejoice Women’s Conference, one of the two major conferences we put on a year. But a lady came to me and she was just, she’s probably 60 to 65 years old, but she’s just flipping her head back and forth. She said, “The second time you prayed for me, I felt that power of God go into me.” And she had this crippling arthritis, and it caused her all these problems. And she said, “I’m healed.” And she was lit up like a light bulb. You could just tell it was real, amen. Jesus healed this woman. And you know, Jesus is the same? He’s still healing people.

And it’s not complicated either. A lot of people try to complicate faith. They try to complicate healing. They, man, just believe the Word of God, read it, confess it, meditate on it, speak it, pray it. The Word of God is so powerful, you know?

  Amen.

A couple years ago, I preached a very just strong evangelistic sermon, I called it, “So What’s Your Story?” And I talked about the two thieves on the cross. And really you have to, you’re either gonna reject Jesus, or you’re gonna accept Jesus. And when I preached that, a few people got saved that day, but this one young woman got saved, and a couple weeks later, she just felt, she was still dealing with a lot of stuff from, you know, just a really tough past. And she had a lot of anxiety, a lot of depression. I just said, “Well, just take this promise of God, take this Scripture, and write it down, and read it every day, every time you feel fear and anxiety.” And she wrote it down, “God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and a sound mind.” And she dealt with years and years of anxiety and depression. And just within two weeks of doing that, it was gone. She was like a new, and she was shocked at just how simple it was.

Amen, you know, Paul said that he was concerned that people had corrupted the simplicity that was in Christ. And we just need to simply believe what God has said in his Word, and just receive from God. And if you need prayer, I’m gonna encourage you to call in during the break. We’re gonna be right back after this, and continue to teach how Jesus is our healer. Friends, it’s great to have you with us today receiving the Word of God, but we have so much more to share. And in these teachings, you can receive them either in downloadable audio, or downloadable video off our website at charischristiancenter.com. They’re absolutely free of charge, and we have them and many others. So go to our website, and receive God’s Word. I’ll tell you how to get your prayers answered. Jesus actually said this, “If you abide in me, and my Word abides in you, you’ll ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.” You’ve taken up residence in him. Let his Word abide on you, praise God. And just call on the name of Jesus. Friends, I’m so glad that you stayed with us. We’re talking about how we can know that healing is the will of God. Earlier in the week we talked about that you can know that healing is the will of God because God said, “I am the Lord your healer.” It’s God’s true nature. And then we’ve been talking about recently that we can know healing is the will of God, because what God promises, what God promises is connected to who he is. God is not doing something that is contrary to his nature. That’s why I know he’s not putting sickness on people. That is contrary to the nature of God. If you understand the cross, Jesus at the cross took sickness and disease and infirmity. The Bible says, Isaiah 53, I believe it’s verse 5, that he was smitten of God and afflicted. And if God cursed Christ on the cross with our sickness, then he’s not putting it on us. If you’re born again, if you know Jesus is your personal Lord and Savior, God is not putting sickness on you, period. That is the gospel. Now in the life of Jesus, Jesus also made known, right, who God is, and Jesus healed the sick. You can’t get away from that. When you read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, in fact, John said this in John 1:18, he said, “No man has seen God at any time, but the only begotten Son, who’s from the bosom of the Father, he has revealed him.” And when you look at the life of Jesus, this is really the third reason we can know the will of God. Number one, because it’s God’s true nature. He said, “I am the Lord who heals you.” Number two, because of what God said, what he promised, which comes out of his nature. Number three, because of the life of Jesus. And you know, there’s many places in the Scriptures, it says that Jesus’ people came together, and they came to hear him, and to be healed by him of their diseases. You know, at this women’s conference that we just had, I had a woman come, and a lady from our church actually brought this woman a year prior to our meeting, she brought her up to me and said, “She’s gonna be healed of her disease.” And this woman, I mean she was believing God for it. She brought her to the meeting, and this woman came a year later and testified, she said, “I had very aggressive breast cancer, and I’ve just been declared cancer free. Praise God, I received my healing.” And a year ago, this lady brought her to our conference. We have people that come, and you know what? We had a lady come recently from Illinois, and she just came on a Sunday morning. She was 30-some years old, her body was full of tumors. The doctor said that it was inoperable. And we prayed for her, she went back home, and the doctor said, “Those tumors have moved, and now we can operate and remove ’em.” And they had shrunk significantly. Man, the power of God is real. Jesus is real.

  Amen.

  Praise God.

“The Son of Righteousness shall arise with healing in his wings.”

  Amen.

And there’s still healing in his wings. Jesus is still the Son of Righteousness. He doesn’t change, so his healing power, it’s still there today.

  Amen.

And we’ve seen it, you know, a lot of people, so some people realize, yeah, Jesus healed, but that was only then, and it doesn’t happen anymore. Maybe it happens some in the 1st century church, but it doesn’t happen anymore. Well, show me in Scripture. Show me where it says that, you know, these promises are just gonna cease, the power of God is just gonna cease. That’s actually a doctrine of the devil, I believe, that the power of God ceased, you know, in 93 AD, on January the 8th.

  That’s ridiculous.

It’s really ridiculous. So God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His promises are the same yesterday, today, and forever. And there should still be these signs that follow those who believe.

“In my name, they’ll cast out devils, they’ll speak with new tongues, they’ll lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.” That’s what Jesus said in Mark 16:15-18. Jesus said in John 14:12, “The same works that I do and greater works than these shall he do who believes on me, because I go to my Father,” because redemption made it available. Praise God, we should be doing the same things Jesus is, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You know, in Luke 4, when Jesus opened up his earthly ministry, he found the place in the scroll of Isaiah, when he was at his hometown teaching Nazareth on the Sabbath day in the synagogue, they gave him the scroll of Isaiah to read, and he found the place where it was written. We know it as Isaiah 61:1-2, and he said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he’s anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.” But then he said, “He sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, the recovering of sight to those who are blind.” You know, and when you look at it, Jesus was not only anointed to preach the gospel, right, and get people saved, but he was anointed to heal the sick. And I believe just like there’s an anointing to preach the gospel, there’s an anointing to heal the sick. I thank God that when I was just 14 years old, I went to Andrew Wommack’s meetings, and I found out there’s a Bible full of promises that you can believe. You know, in the first half of the broadcast, we talked about this Scripture, “The Son of Righteousness will arise,” Malachi 4:2, “with healing in his wings.” My granddad was a Baptist. His grandfather, my great-great granddad was an evangelical preacher, and he circuit rode in Western Kansas and Eastern Colorado. He actually pastored a church in Chivington, Colorado. And did you know what? He ministered the power of God, but my granddad grew up as a Baptist, and my granddad, you know, when he was in his, in the 1950s, he’s born in 1908, but he went to one of these healing revivals. And Evelyn Wyatt was the minister. And she had a ministry back then called The Healing Wings Ministry. And my granddad in his 50s, or whenever that was, might’ve been in his 40s, but in the 1950s, he went to Evelyn Wyatt’s meetings, and she laid hands on his shoulder, and he talked about when she laid hands on his shoulder, he felt the power of God. He had bursitis in it, and he said he felt the warmth, he felt the power of God go into it, and he was healed from that day. And he never had, you know, that in that shoulder for the rest of his life, lived up into his 80s. He talked about that. You know, the power of God is real. Jesus is real, the promises of God are real. And you can receive these promises today. You don’t have to wait ’til you get to heaven to get healed. You know, Jesus said, “Pray this way, Father, your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.” Most of us don’t believe there’s gonna be any sickness in heaven. Praise God, well, in the same way, we need to pray that the will of God, the healing power of God, be manifest on the Earth today. And we see lots of people, you know, people came to hear him and to be healed. And later that day, you know, the religious people got mad at Jesus, tried to throw him off a cliff. And Jesus knew it wasn’t his time and got out of there. But later in verse 38 to 40, Jesus was ministering that evening in Peter’s house, and Peter’s mother-in-law was there and she was sick. And Peter, Jesus laid hands on her, and restored her to health. And then she got up and ministered to them. And then it says, “They brought unto him all kinds of people with all kinds of sickness, and he healed them, everyone.” And this happens over and over in the life of Jesus.

And it’s God’s will to heal people. You know, I remember a few years ago I was getting my doctorate at Rice University, and I had a friend who is a believer, and she was a really fantastic violin player, but she had just such bad pain throughout her body from just playing with tension where there was, she could hardly play. And she went to a lot of doctors, had a lot of physical therapy, but she thought she was just gonna have to give up her dreams, and her career in music. And she was a believer, but she was one of these believers who think that just God controls everything, that everything happens for a reason, that God was trying to teach her something through this. And I just asked if I could pray for her. And I knew that, you know, just years and years of thinking this way, I wasn’t gonna be able to change her thinking. But I just prayed a simple prayer over her. I just told her, you know, prayed that, you know, “This is your daughter, God, you love her. You have good things in store for her. You gave her this gift, you gave her this talent. She loves to do it. And God, I just pray that she’ll be able to do it her entire life, that this pain is gonna leave, it’s not gonna afflict her anymore.” And she actually got better. She’s actually still playing. She’s actually a professor of violin at a very, very top-notch, one of the top 10 universities in the country now. And she performed, it’s really amazing to see what’s happened in her career. But I just ministered God’s love to her.

  Amen.

You know, sometimes as you’re praying and ministering to people, you do need to kind of show ’em and correct their thinking. But sometimes you can just minister the power of God straight to people.

  Amen.

And they can just experience it.

  Amen.

And if they understand it or not.

You know, God is a God of grace. You know, Aaron, I know you’ve been here at the church like eight years, ministering and helping us in the ministry. And I know early on when you came here, we had a young woman, who had actually been diagnosed with a very, they said it was a incurable heart disease. And I sent you and Casey Cruz, who’s about your age, our worship minister at that time, down to the hospital to pray for her. And you and Casey went and laid hands on her, prayed for her, and God raised her up. And within 30 days or something, she was declared to be whole of that plague. She’s never had it again, she was completely healed. You know, the Bible says, “Signs follow those who believe,” and we believe the Word of God. It’s so important what you believe. You know, in Luke 5:15, it says, “Great multitudes came together to hear and to be healed by him of their infirmities, or their sicknesses.” And in verse 17 it says, “As he was teaching, the power of the Lord was present to heal them.” You know, we have that happen in our services. There’s times that we just sense the power. There’s a special anointing. You know, Luke was a, people say, a doctor, and he’s writing this. And he recognized there was a special anointing. The power of the Lord was present to heal them. I believe right now, as we’re ministering to you today, that the power of the Lord is present to heal you. You know, your mother has given words to people, you know, while we’re on television. We have people call in and say, “Man, that was me and the power of God. I sensed it go through my body, and I was dealing with that exact thing and I was healed.” Your mom actually many times ministers the word of knowledge in these areas. And then I’ll pray for ’em, and they’ll get healed. But we’re gonna pray for you right now, praise God, before we go off the air. And I believe you could stretch out your hand, amen. Maybe you wanna touch that screen as a point of contact, but just believe God to be healed, amen? Heavenly Father, right now, I thank you that your Spirit is ministering life, your Spirit is ministering health, your Spirit is ministering peace and healing to people right now. And I speak to pain, I speak to arthritis, in the name of Jesus, and I command this pain to leave their body. And I thank you right now, the Spirit of God is flowing through people, and you are touching them and restoring them to health, in the name of Jesus we pray, and we thank you, Father God, right now. Now I’m gonna encourage you, praise God, if you felt God’s power moving through you to call in, I’m gonna encourage you, praise God, if you need personal prayer beyond this, to call in today and receive God’s power. If you wanna become a partner, we’d love to have your partner with us, and help us share this good news, amen?

Awesome, yeah, just give us a call. If for some reason you can’t get in right away, just call back a few minutes later, we’ll be sure to connect with you.
