Healing Covenant

God doesn’t change– He stays the same! All throughout the Bible, we see that it is clearly God’s will to heal. When the Israelites left Egypt, God told them that He is the LORD who heals them. There are so many promises in the Bible for healing. All of these promises still remain true and are part of God’s covenant with believers through the finished work of Jesus. If you are a follower of Jesus- you can see that He is a healer. He was either healing someone, going to heal someone, or coming from healing someone. As you listen to these teachings, we know that faith will be stirred in your heart and that your faith will make you well in Jesus’ name!

Healing Covenant Transcript

Friends, I’m so glad that you tuned in with us today. I believe that God wants you well. I believe that because of what the Bible says, and we’re talking all of this week about faith begins where the will of God is known. And I believe that you can know the will of God because first of all, who God is, but secondly what he promises. So stay tuned and receive his good work. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re here today. I’m glad to have my son, Aaron. We’re talking today about the healing covenant. And thank God, you know, that we have a covenant with God based on the work of Jesus. And because we have a covenant with God, we have a covenant right to be healed. And a lot of churches taught this years ago, especially full gospel churches. And it is easy to see in the scripture, but it’s amazing to me how people will start with one thing and then years later just hardly ever teach what they actually say that they believe. And years ago, PC Nelson wrote a book Bible Doctrine. And in his bible doctrine book, he put that divine healing is a privilege and the will of God for all believers and it was provided for in the atonement. But it’s amazing how many churches say they believe that book for Bible Doctrine, but they don’t actually teach that. And we need to get back to teaching what the Bible says. And I believe when we teach what the Bible says and we teach who God really is, that lays a foundation so that people can be healed. You see, faith begins where the will of God is known.

And I like that you talked about Bible Doctrine, for something to be doctrine, it needs to be very prevalent in scripture. You know, we believe that it’s doctrine that Jesus is Lord because we see it that it’s very prevalent and foundational to scripture, to our understanding of who God is and also our relationship with God. And I believe that healing is one of those subjects that really, it’s so foundational, it’s so prevalent in scripture that it is doctrine and it’s actually part of our doctrine. We have nine statements of beliefs and one of our statements is that we believe it’s God’s will to heal.

Amen. And you know, the Bible actually says in Hebrews chapter 13:8, that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And when you look into the life of Jesus, it says 14 times in the New Testament that Jesus healed them all. It says, you know, they brought unto him everyone who was sick of every kind of disease and he healed everyone and he healed every kind of disease. I mean, it just says this over and over and over again. And yet people will still teach that God is putting sickness on you to teach you something and that is not the truth. That is not the gospel. If you are born of God, if you are born again, if you are believer you have a covenant right to be healed. Jesus, at the same time, he took your sense, he took your sicknesses.

I actually think it’s really important to be a part of a church that really teaches on healing, that understands the importance of it and teaches on it. A lot of churches, especially secret sensitive churches, stay away from the subject of healing ’cause they don’t want to offend anyone but a lot of the Bible talks about healing. If you read through Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, it’s just filled with Jesus healing people. And Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And I know people who’ve end up going to just watered down churches that don’t ever talk about healing. And I think they end up getting sick and sometimes dying before they were really supposed to.

  I’ve known so.

And so, it’s really important and to receive something, it has to be taught. You know, in our church, if we want people to receive healing, we know that we have to teach it, to help people understand it and for them to be able to believe it and receive it. If we want people to, to prosper financially and to be able to be a blessing, to take care of their own family, to give into the kingdom, to not just struggle all the time, we have to teach it.

Amen, Aaron, I just got a testimony from Pennsylvania yesterday and this lady found us and her husband is struggling, you know, financially they’ve struggled with sickness and different things and they started listening to our teaching and she’s watching church, I mean, on a regular basis. And she said the word of God is changing her life. And you know what, we’ve got actually hundreds of hours of teaching that we’ve put on the internet on our website and we’ve made it free of charge. And we have different teachings, for instance, on divine healing, on God’s provision. And they’re downloadable audios, downloadable videos, you know, and we’ve made ’em free of charge. We got a children’s curriculum that we’re putting up and we’re making it free of charge. I’ve been paying hundreds of dollars a year, $900 a year for a children’s curriculum where they would not allow this lady that writes the curriculum that’s come to my church for 12 years and she’s written a lot of, you know, curriculum for Andrew Wommack and she’s now doing this children’s curriculum for us, but they would not allow her to write what we teach about divine healing, what we teach about the Holy Spirit. And you know what, if you don’t teach people what the Bible says, see, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. And it’s amazing how many people don’t really know what the word says. It’s gonna be hard for you to have faith if you believe, for instance, that God’s putting sickness on you to teach you something that is completely anti gospel. That is completely against the teaching of the New Testament. But if you believe that it is gonna be hard for you to get healed.

And there’s a lot of people who kind of think that way. You know, I grew up in this church with my dad preaching, you know, hearing good ministers come through that, you know, talked about God’s will to heal and showed us in scripture how it’s God’s promise for us to be healed. We can believe for, it’s actually a sign that follows those who believe they’ll lay hands on the sick and see them recover. I’ve seen awesome miracles, but there’s a, you know, a big percentage of believers today that don’t think that way. They just think that, you know, everything happens for a reason. And you know, they kind of leave out the devil. You know, a lot of people don’t like talking about the devil because it’s, you know, the devil, it’s not a comfortable thing to talk, but there is an enemy. And you know, the good news is that Jesus defeated him. He defeated him and Jesus said, I’ve been the manifest for this purpose that I might destroy the works of the devil.

And sickness is the work of the devil.

  Amen.

So praise God. And you know, they get that because they just look at the Old Testament and they don’t really look at Jesus. They don’t really look at the New Testament. And everything changed at the cross. The death barrel and resurrection of Jesus changed everything. Praise God and we don’t have to stay sick, you know? Or stay poor, no more than we have to stay in sin. You know, Aaron, this testimony I just got from Pennsylvania, this lady actually got on our website and got our curriculum and she’s using it to teach her kids. And we made it free, praise God. And it’s blessed people. It’s going all over the world. It’s in churches all over the world, it’s exploding. And we just thank God that we’re able to teach people the true nature of God. Now, we started teaching about we can know the true nature of God in the area of divine healing because God said, I am the Lord your healer. And I want you to go back, Aaron to Exodus chapter 15 and just share for the next, you know, little period of time here about how we know this, the true nature of God from Exodus 15, where God says, I am the Lord who heals you.

Yeah, this is actually one of the names of God that we see in scripture. And I think it’s really important that this name is revealed to the children of Israel. Right as they’re entering the wilderness, they’re leaving the house of bondage, they’re leaving Egypt and they’re going into the wilderness on their way to the promised land but God wanted them to know that he was the Lord who heals. He is Jehovah-Rapha or Yahweh-Rapha. So we’ll read here in Exodus 15, starting in verse 22. It says, “so Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea. Then they went out into wilderness of Shur and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. Now, when they came to Marah they cannot drink the waters of Mara for they were bitter. Therefore, the name of it was called Marah.” Bitterness is, it makes it hard for you to receive from God.

  Yes.

And the writer of Hebrews says that you should stay away from the root of bitterness by which many are defiled. So I believe the devil tries to serve up bitterness to believers today. And it stops you from receiving everything that God has for you, including healing. It says they actually complained against Moses saying, “what shall we drink? So he cried out to the Lord and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them. And there he tested them and said, if you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have brought on the Egyptians for I am the Lord who heals you.” God is calling himself by this name. God is saying, this is my name, which I will be called, I am Jehovah-Rapha. So God is not the God who puts sickness on people. He’s not the author of disease, he’s not afflicting people, he’s not binding people with these things. He’s actually the one who heals you. He’s the one that sets you free. And he does it through the power of the cross. You know, Moses saw a tree, God showed him a tree that was actually a picture of the cross. You know, Moses was there on the Mount of Transfiguration when he saw Jesus just shining in his glory. I believe that Moses actually saw Jesus in this instant and saw that Jesus, the Messiah, would be that great redeemer, that one who would heal people.

Amen. You know, a lot of people say, well, maybe God healed then, but he doesn’t heal now and you know, but number one, God says, I am the same, I change not. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And if you study Hebrew six, we have the unchangeable word of an unchangeable God. But you know, there’s seven redemptive names of God in the Old Testament, and it’s revealing the true nature of God. And as you study things these things out, I’m your provider, your healer, I’m your deliver and defender, your protector. I’m your sanctification. I’m your the Lord, your peace and your provision. I’m your righteousness and I’m the Lord who’s there then if you study those out, then he says this in Malachi chapter 3:6. He says, “I am the Lord. I am Jehovah and I change not.” You know, God is not changing from who that he said that he is. And there are many people who don’t really understand the true nature and the true character of God. But we can see it first of all in the scripture by who God said that he is. And then we’re gonna begin to move into this in the second half of the broadcast that you can see it through the promises of God. We’ve got many promises of God for divine healing, both in Old Testament and in the New Testament. And then if we go to second Corinthians chapter 1:20 it says, “all the promises of God”, that means all of them. Old Testament and New Testament. In Him, in Christ, are yes and in Him, amen to the glory of God by us. You know, and it takes two things to receive from God. Number one, it takes God’s grace, which Jesus provided healing in all the promises of God in his death. But secondly, it takes our faith. And so God said yes in Christ and we say amen when we believe it. And you know what, you can give us a call today. We have people that will pray the prayer of faith with you that will minister the power of God. We’ve had miracles happen while people are praying on the phone. So we want to encourage you to call in. If the phones happen to be busy, just leave a message, we’ll call you back or call in again, praise God. And we have people that are here to minister the grace of God to you. We’re gonna be back in the second half of the broadcast to teach more on divining. Friends, it’s great to have you with us today, receiving the Word of God, but we have so much more to share. And in these teachings, you can receive them either in downloadable audio or downloadable video off our website at CharisChristianCenter.com. They’re absolutely free of charge and we have them and many others. So go to our website and receive God’s word.

I’ll tell you how to get your prayers answered. Jesus actually said this, if you abide in me and my word abides in you, you’ll ask what you will and it shall be done unto you. You’ve taken up residence in him. Let his word abide on you, praise God. And just call on the name of Jesus.

Friends, I’m so glad that you’re with us. I’m so glad that you stayed tuned. We’re talking about the healing covenant and we taught in the first half of the broadcast how healing is the true nature of God. God said, “I am the Lord who heals you.” In Exodus chapter 15:26, then he said in Malachi chapter 3:6, “I am the Lord and I change not.” We have an unchanging God. And if you really understand the scripture, we have an unchangeable word of an unchangeable God. And when you begin to understand that you find out you can believe God to be healed just like you can believe God, to be forgiven for your sins, because Jesus paid for our healing and our forgiveness at the same time. So we’re gonna start talking about, you know, some of these promises of healing. And really, I love Psalm 91. It’s a great promise of God’s protection. And I prayed this, you know, over you boys, when you were children, we actually taught you boys to, you know, you learn Psalm 91 and mom made a deal with you that if you could quote Psalm 91, you know, the whole thing, she’d give you one of these super soakers and she motivated you when you’re little boys and you all learned this but in verse 10, it says, “there shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.”

I think it’s really important to realize that, you know, faith really begins where the will of God is known. And I think some of you watching right now might not really be sure if it’s God’s will for you to be healed or for your loved ones to be healed. But God’s will is for you to be healed, for your loved ones to be healed, even for you as a believer to minister healing to other people around you, to lay hands on the sick and see them recover. It is God’s will. You know, there was a leper that came to Jesus and he said, if it’s your will, if you’re willing, I can be cleansed. And Jesus said, I am willing, be thou cleansed and and he was healed in that moment. And Jesus actually told him to go to the priest, do what the law said, you know, follow the instruction of the law, which is to present yourself to the priest, have a sacrifice to reenter society. And he said, as you do this, it’s gonna be a testimony to them. You know, God actually wants there to be healing testimonies. Jesus wants there to be healing testimonies. He actually told this man who was healed of leprosy, not to say too much about it until he got to the priest, but he was just so excited he couldn’t help but tell everyone and started a revival. You know, healing, man, I’m hungry for revival. and revival often starts with healing. With miracles of healing and testimonies of healing. If you want to see a revival in your city, see a revival in your family, man, believe God for healing, know that it’s his will and have faith for it. Faith begins where the will of God is known.

Amen, so we know the will of God because it’s the nature of God. God said, I’m the larger healer. We also know it because it’s the promise of God. One of these promises is Psalm 91:10, Psalm 91:16 says this, it says, “with long life will I satisfy you and show you my salvation.” And if you study the word for salvation in both the Old Testament, Yeshua and the New Testament, Soteria, that’s the Hebrew and Greek words for salvation. It’s an inclusive word. It means to be made whole, to be made well. Spirit, soul and body. And salvation, it’s like salvation, you know, forgiveness, healing, provision, peace, protection, all of that, right? We were talking about the true nature of God. We’re talking about who God said that he is. And then God says, this is my salvation. And when you begin to understand that Jesus brought salvation to us, and salvation, we have salvation in his name. In fact, the lame man that God healed in Acts chapter three, that was lame from his mother’s womb. They prayed for him. And when Peter got up and preached, he said his name, the name of Jesus, through faith in his name, has given this man perfect health, perfect soundness in the presence of you all. And he says, there’s only one name given under heaven whereby men must be saved. Praise God. The name of Jesus represents all that God said that he is. And we can receive all the promises through the name of Jesus. We share this one scripture, here’s another promise. Exodus 23:25. And it says, “I will bless your bread and bless your water and take sickness from the midst of you.” Praise God. You know, there’s times when we dealt with different challenges of sickness in our family and we would put healing scriptures around our house. And we put this one on the scripture, on the refrigerator. “I’ll bless your bread and bless your water and take sickness from the midst of you.” We put on your bedroom door where, I think, you and Andrew were in your bedroom when Andrew, your brother, was struggling with a certain type of sickness when he was a child, that by the stripes of Jesus you were healed. First Peter 2:24, we put exodus, you know, another one, Isaiah 53:5 on the bathroom mirror where you boys had a bathroom and said, you know, by Jesus stripes, I am healed. Thank God for healing. Thank God for these promises. You know, promises over and over again. We have many Bible promises for healing. Aaron, why don’t you say our Psalm 103:3? Praise God.

Yeah. Well I want to just go back to Psalm 91 before we continue, ’cause it’s such a powerful Psalm and it’s something that I pray over my own kids. I have a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old, and I pray many verses from Psalm 91. It’s just, you know, so many promises of protection, of God’s presence, of his freedom, of safety in him, and also of healing. You know, protection from plagues, from sicknesses. You know, and we live in an imperfect world and there are illnesses, there are plagues, and it doesn’t have to affect you like it affects the rest of the world. Psalm 91:10, “no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.” I love that and you mentioned the last verse, verse 16, “with long life, I’ll satisfy him and show him my salvation.” A few weeks ago, I had a word the church when I was taking up an offering at the end of church, I was closing in prayer. And I had a word that I believe people at our church, we’re gonna have just a large number and people are gonna see, we have a large number of people who live to be a hundred. If you live to be a hundred or older, you’re called a centenarian. So I said, I believe that there are people here who are gonna be centenarian, we’re gonna have a lot of them at our church. And it’s gonna be a noticeable thing. And a lot of people are excited because they start imagining it. You know, I don’t have to die young. I don’t have to die early. I can actually live.

  Amen.

A long life and be satisfied and have a long, healthy, productive life. And several people have come up and told me, you know, that they’ve thought about that, but they’re really glad that I shared it and verbalize it. Some people don’t ever verbalize the promises of God. Some pastors don’t ever verbalize the promises of healing in scripture. You know, you need to be around people who verbalize the promises, who verbalize faith. Faith speaks.

Yeah, Jesus spoke his faith. He said, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. He said, by your words, you’re justified, by your words, you’re condemned. We have another lesson on how to receive healing from Mark chapter five, the woman with the issue of blood. But I believe the first thing that she did when she heard of Jesus is she said something. She had spent all her money, she had been sick, bleeding for 12 years, hemorrhaging. And she wasn’t any better, but rather grew worse. But when she heard of Jesus, she said, “if I could but touch the hem of his garment, I will be healed.” Matthew chapter nine says, she said within herself, “if I could but touch him, I will be well.” The amplified of Matthew chapter nine says, I believe it’s verse 21 says, “she said and kept on saying.” You know, when you get the word of God in you and it, it really becomes part of who you are and your mentality, you can’t help but say something. Praise God, so we gotta verbalize the promises of God. We need to be saying what God’s saying. So many people are afraid. Well, somebody will feel condemned. Well what about the other people that you know, I don’t want anybody to feel condemned if they’re sick. You know, I don’t condemn anybody. But at the same point in time, I want people to believe, be able to believe God. And we’re gonna have a testimony on later this week of this man that came here and he was diagnosed with cancer. And three weeks after he came here, he got prayer and God completely healed his body. Next week we got a testimony of a young man that was 10 years old and he’d been, basically, the doctors had told him, you’re gonna die when you’re young. And you know what, this young man was completely ill. He was taking 11 medications every day on a good day. And they told him that his life would be short. And man, he is healed and whole and well because he as a young man, got a hold of the word of God and believed it. And you know, if you’ll get ahold of God’s word, believe it, it’ll change your life. Amen, Psalm 103:3 says, “he forgives all of our iniquities and he heals all of our diseases.” Man, forgiveness and healing. You know, Aaron, we see this over and over in the word of God, these promises of God. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.”

I love Psalm 103:3 because it’s talking about forgiveness of sin and healing from diseases at the same time. A lot of people don’t realize this, a lot of ministers don’t really teach this. But at the same time that Jesus paid for your sin on the cross, he actually paid for your body to be healed as well.

  Amen.

That so, so the shedding of his blood, it provides for the remission of sins, but it also provides for the healing of your body at the same time. It’s part of the, we call it the atonement.

Right. In Isaiah 53, Isaiah prophesied about Jesus dying on the cross and he said he was wounded for our transgressions, for our sins, and by his stripes we’re healed. In first Peter 2:24, he says, kind of the same thing. And so when we understand what Jesus did on the cross, we can receive healing in our body just like we can receive forgiveness for our sin. You know, in Jesus’ ministry, you can read about this in Mark chapter two and Matthew chapter nine, but they brought him a man who was lame and the place was so full of people. Four of his friends brought him, carrying him on a stretcher and they couldn’t get in. So they tore a hole in the roof while Jesus was teaching. Amen and dropped him down and they said, Jesus saw their faith and he said, son, cheer up, your sins are forgiven. And the religious people in the crowd began to question, who is this that forgives sins? Isn’t that God alone? And Jesus said, well, that you might know the son of man has power on earth to forgive sin. I say to you, sick of the palsy, get up, take up your bed and go to your house. And he’s immediately healed.

That’s awesome. So I’m really glad you’re watching today that you know that you’re able to join us as we preach on healing. I believe that as you preach the promises of God, it stirs up faith. So if you just feel that faith is stirred up in your heart and you wanna receive prayer for healing today, I encourage you to call us here at the ministry. If for some reason you can’t get through right away, you can leave a message, we’ll call you back or just try calling back again later. But we’d love to pray for you. We hear great testimonies all the time. And I believe that you will have a powerful testimony as well.
