Have you ever started well with Jesus, only to find yourself later adding rules, performance, or religious requirements just to feel right with God? In this powerful six-part series, Pastor Lawson Perdue teaches from the book of Galatians and shows that moving away from grace is moving away from Jesus Himself.

Pastor Lawson Perdue opens by confronting the problem of religion. Paul marveled that the Galatians were so soon removed from Him who called them into the grace of Christ to another gospel. That other gospel is not another at all. It is Jesus plus law-keeping, church attendance, Bible reading, or any other work which does not provide justification. The clear revelation is simple and freeing: Jesus plus nothing equals everything. You were saved by grace through faith, and you stay saved the same way. Ephesians 2:8-9 declares it is the gift of God, not of works. Romans 11:6 makes it plain that works conflict with grace, and you cannot be saved by both.

The series then moves into the promise of the gospel. Galatians 3:13-14 is a key passage: Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, so that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Righteousness comes by faith. You become a child of Abraham by faith. You are justified by faith. You are blessed with believing Abraham. The law was a schoolmaster to bring you to Christ, but once you come to Christ you do not go back under the schoolmaster. The ultimate blessing is that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now lives inside you. When you understand that Christ is living in you, you stop identifying with the curse and start living from a blessed mentality.

Finally, Pastor Lawson Perdue reveals the power of the gospel. Galatians 5:1 calls you to stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free and not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Grace is not a license to sin. Grace is the power of God that teaches you to deny ungodliness and live soberly, righteously, and godly. You are free to believe, free to speak, free to love, and free to live. The spirit of the gospel is the spirit of mercy, the spirit of generosity, and the glory of the cross. In Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. It is no longer you who live, but Christ who lives in you.

Throughout the series you will hear practical revelations that changed Pastor Lawson Perdue’s own life, marriage, and ministry. You will see how a revelation of grace moves you from a servant mentality into a son’s mentality, where you know you are an heir of God through Christ. You will discover that faith comes alive when you understand the love and grace of God, and that everything from salvation to the end of your ministry on earth is received by grace through faith.
