The Supernatural Fruit Of The Holy Spirit Transcript

Praise the Lord, friends, and welcome to the broadcast. I am so glad that you’re connected with us today. The Bible says in Isaiah 26, verse three, that the Lord will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind has stayed upon him because he trusts in him. We’re gonna be talking today about the supernatural fruit of peace. So stay tuned and be blessed. Friends, it’s so good to have you here with us today and we’re talking about the supernatural fruit of peace. And I love your teaching on the fruit of the spirit. And so I’m gonna let you just go ahead and jump into the word.

Awesome. Amen. Well, these fruit God has given them to you. They’re actually part of your new nature in Christ. If you’ve received Jesus, if his spirit is on the inside of you, the spirit of Jesus is on the inside of you, you either have his spirit or you don’t. If you have His spirit on the inside of you, you actually have all these fruit. This is your new nature in Jesus. It’s your new nature to be a person of love, joy, peace. All of these supernatural fruit of the Holy Spirit are actually part of your nature. And it’s your nature to produce these fruit.

It’s in you, in Christ. You have all of it. And I like what you said in the first broadcast, these first three fruit really come from your relationship with God. So love, joy, and peace. Today we’re talking about peace come from your relationship with God.

And you know, this is kind of my main point about peace, but wherever you see the fruit, the spirit, the devil wants to attack those things, he wants to attack, he wants to stir up strife and hatred and contentions. You know, he tries to attack love. He tries to attack joy. He tries to put depression on people, you know, and he tries to steal people’s peace as well, because peace is powerful. And God has shown me this, that anxiety is from the devil. Anxiety is from the devil and really anxiety and fear, it works the opposite of faith and peace. Faith and peace really flow together. A lot of these fruit flow together. You know, faith and peace and patience, all these things work together, but anxiety is straight from the devil, and he really wants you to worry things into existence.

  Yeah.

And you know, there is actually quite a few self fulfilled worry prophecies. I remember you said, I think it was one of my great grandmothers that was just always worried for years upon years about cancer. And she eventually worried it into existence and died from cancer.

Yeah, she had a terrible fear of cancer. And, you know, Jobe, I believe says that “what I feared came upon me.” My grandmother when she was, you know, in her mid sixties, just, she got cancer and she actually, we joined around her as a family and joined hands and prayed for her. And all the pain left, all the symptoms left. And she said, I’m gonna go see what was wrong with me. She had made a doctor’s appointment and she came up here. We lived in southeast Colorado, north of Lamar, and she came up here to Colorado Springs and they checked her out and said, “Well, you’ve got this cancer.” And at that time, Oral Roberts had his hospital. So she said, “I’m gonna go down to Oral Roberts Hospital.” And I believe she was thinking, believing more in Oral Roberts. And we love Oral Roberts. We loved his ministry. My grandparents loved his ministry. And this is no condemnation to anyone. But she went down there and I remember I was working for my grandparents. I, you know, I had just graduated from high school a couple of years earlier. My dad had died my senior year when I was in high school. But I was out in the corral working when they were gonna leave. And the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “Go tell your grandmother bye. You will not see her again.” And so I went and told her bye, told her I loved her, hugged her, and they drove out. And less than two weeks she was gone to be with Jesus. So, praise God. She was with Jesus. She’s a wonderful Christian woman. We love her. But you need to control your fear. Not let fear and anxiety rule you. You know, fear and anxiety is not from God. It’s the opposite of faith and your fear can kill you. And, you know, and so you wanna let the peace of God rule your life. The Bible actually says, let the peace of God act as an umpire in your heart. And so we need to let the peace of God rule us and don’t let the devil rob your goods. Don’t let the devil steal from you. Praise God. But let peace, let faith rule your life.

And anxiety. It’s straight from the devil.

  Amen.

You know, a lot of people, they let it spin out of control. And that’s something about that, that anxiety from the devil. And he’ll just make it spin and spin and spin. But, Jesus came to set the captives free. So maybe you’ve just been spinning with anxiety, spinning with fear. Jesus will help you. Be free from that, free from that oppression, that mental oppression, you know, Jesus actually died on the cross for us to have peace. You know, know Isaiah 53 says that he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon him. And by his stripes, you were healed. So at the same time, Jesus, you know, set you free from sin, from iniquity, at the same time he set you free from sickness, he also set you free from anxiety. And you can live a life marked by peace. You know, he wants to redeem you spirit, soul, and body.

  That is absolutely the gospel.

And the devil, he tries to attack peace because peace is powerful. And you know, I’ve seen a lot of people, they get so worried about something, so worked up about something, it might not even be real. I remember a few weeks ago, I sold a high end watch to someone, like a really nice watch for around $3,000. So it’s a pretty nice watch. And you know, I do it as a side hobby. I collect and sell nice watches. And it’s kind of funny, you know, I’ve seen people get really upset about, you know, ministers that wear nice watches. There’s a guy on Instagram and his name is called Prophets and Watches. And he zooms in on different minister’s watches. Like Kenneth Copeland wears Breitling. I have a lot of Breitling watches.

What are you wearing right now?

It’s a Breitling. So Prophets and Watches, you can use me. Aaron Perdue, the associate pastor in Colorado Springs.

You actually must make hundreds of thousands of dollars.

And I’ve given a lot, you know, from this to the church, so.

Only watches you lose money on are them cheap things you buy for your kids.

Yeah. And actually, some of the watches that he’s posted about, you know, different ministers have worn, it’s inspired me to go out and find a good deal on it and buy it. So I, you know, I’ve seen some that Kenneth Copeland or Jesse Duplantis. Just recently Jonathan Shuttlesworth was pinged by him. You know, but he’ll, like, put like John Piper on there who wears a $20 Casio.

  Piece of junk.

And you know, I bought my wife…

He’s gonna struggle in heaven because I’m telling you, heaven has no poverty, has no lack, you know, and all these people thinking, you know, Jesse Duplantis has too nice a house. Listen, you don’t care about Jesse Duplantis’ house. What really is wrong with you is you don’t like your house. And I grew up in a trailer house. I grew up in poverty. And I’m going to tell you something, I hate poverty. And God hates poverty. And poverty came from the devil that’s a lie from the pit of hell. And if you believe all that religious garbage, you’ll be bound and live by the bounds of your own mind. I’m wearing a very nice watch here. And this is a TAG Heuer, you know, the golfer he wears TAG Heuer, what’s his name? The, you know, he’s a great golfer. But you bought me this TAG Heuer and you gave it to me as a gift, and I bet we could sell it for two or three times what you paid for it when you bought it. So, you know what, don’t buy the devil’s lies. You don’t have to live poor. I talked to a good friend who’s a believer at the gym this morning, and he told me, his granddad told him, he said, “Listen, you know what,” he said, “You know, I’m too poor to buy junk.” You know, and so people many times are ruled by their poverty thinking and by their poverty mentality. And it’s a mentality that rules them. I know I got off the subject a little bit, but it’s one of my pet peeves. I hate poverty. God hates poverty, and you don’t have to be poor. Amen. The Bible says it’s the blessing of the Lord that makes rich. That’s Proverbs 10, verse 22. And guess what, rich means rich. The Bible says in Second Corinthians chapter eight, verse nine, you know, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that he was made poor for our sakes. That even though he was rich, he was made poor for our sakes, that we, through his poverty, might be made rich. And poverty there means absolute poverty. You know, and rich means rich. God wants you to be rich. That’s the gospel. That’s the Bible. Check it out. And quit believing these religious lies. Hallelujah. Aaron, go ahead with your message.

Okay. Yeah. Back to my story. I sold this watch for $3,000 to someone and right after I shipped it, he was just calling me and texting me. My wife even heard ’em on speakerphone, just like, he’s a guy in New Jersey. He’s had a really thick jersey accent. He is like, “I just know something’s wrong.” And he’s just really worked up. And I can just tell like, this guy’s problematic. There’s just some people you don’t wanna deal with ’cause they’re just, you can just tell they’re problematic. And I said, “Don’t worry, I’ve sold thousands of these. It’s gonna, you know, arrive on time.” I shipped it overnight and it didn’t get there the next day. So he’s extra worried now. I said, “No, I’m sure it’ll be fine, I’ll be there the next day.” And it came the next day. But, and you know, he, apparently opened the package, opened the box that was in, and just looked inside and saw the case. But he just, because he was so worked up in his mind, he didn’t even look through everything. He just called me and said, “It’s stolen.” Like someone took it out and stole it and just left the box, you know? And I talked to him and I thought he was being genuine and I refunded him the $3,000. He ended up buying another watch for 3000. I shipped it to him. And then a few hours later, he looked through the packaging a little bit more and realized that he didn’t look, you know, inside the inner case and there the watch was.

  Thank God, he’s honest.

And anyways, it was kind of a big ordeal just dealing with this guy’s anxiety. But, you know, he was just so convinced in his mind that something was gonna go wrong. That he made something wrong happen. And it wasn’t until a little bit later when he finally calmed down and came to his senses that he realized everything’s all right. The devil wants to, you know, have these self fulfilled worry prophecies.

  Yeah.

And I’ve known some uber spiritual prophetic type people who probably don’t operate in much fruit of the Holy Spirit. Like they’re not really that loving, patient, peaceful, kind, faithful. And they have like these nightmare prophecies and you know, we, you know, like, God doesn’t have nightmares about you. And they try to put their fear on other people and like, I had a word and it’s, you know, and it…

Hey, I don’t receive that kind of problem.

No, I don’t either. Actually, right after I married Heather, some very prophetic woman came up to Heather and said, “I had a dream that Aaron died, and you and Fisher were just, you know, distraught and just hopeless and it’s terrible. And I just feel that I had to just share this with you.” Well, thank you so much. But, you know, she obviously wasn’t hearing from the Lord. She was hearing from the pizza she ate, you know, the night before, she had too many mushrooms. I dunno what kind of mushroom she had on her pizza. But you know, Heather’s fine, Fisher’s fine. And oh, by the way, we also have a daughter, you know, now that they didn’t even dream in their prophecy. So keep your fear to yourself.

Keep your fear controlled. You know, once in a while I have somebody that I know is very credible that will tell me something. And maybe it’s a warning from God and maybe I have to deal with something and check something out physically or whatever. But at the same point in time, I do not let fear rule my life. And you don’t wanna let fear rule your life. You wanna let the peace of God rule your life. We’re gonna be back in just a few seconds and Aaron’s gonna continue teaching on peace and you’re going to be blessed. So stay tuned, we’ll be back right after this short break. Blessings. Friends, I certainly hope that you’ve been enjoying watching this broadcast. My son Aaron taught this series on the supernatural fruit of the Holy Spirit here in Church Live. And it is fantastic teaching. In fact, I had one of my staff say, “That’s one of the best teaching that he’s ever done.” So you can get these live teachings from the church by accessing our website free at charischristiancenter.com.

Second Corinthians five, verse 19 said, God was in Christ, not imputing the trespasses of the world to them, but he has forgiven them for all trespasses. So as far as forgiveness is concerned with God and a born again person, you have already been forgiven.

Praise the Lord, friends. I’m glad you stayed with us. We’re continuing to teach on the supernatural fruit of peace. You know, the Bible actually says in Isaiah 26.3, this is one of my favorite scriptures on peace. It says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed upon you because he trusts in you.” And if you fix your mind on God and Christ, and the word and the promises, you can stay in perfect complete peace.

I remember a few years ago I came across a study done by the Cleveland Clinic on people’s thought life. Just the thoughts that they have. And the average person thinks 60,000 thoughts a day. And of those 60,000 thoughts, 95% of them are just habitual thoughts. So they’re like repeated thoughts that you have all the time. And of those, you know, 95% of those thoughts that are habitual just on repeat, on a constant loop, 80% of those thoughts are negative.

  Right.

So you have to reprogram your thought life sometimes. And like you said, keep your thoughts stayed upon rather than stayed upon negative things, stayed upon the Lord. And that’s how you’re kept in perfect peace.

  Amen.

And there’s a lot of anxiety in the world today. A lot of people deal with major anxiety. There’s a lot of mental health crises going on. A lot of, there’s just a lot of junk. And that that’s straight from the devil.

  Amen.

I remember when Covid went on, that there was a study done on mental health, and the only people who at least maintain their mental health or increase were the people who kept going to church. Conservative, like they’d all these studies on conservative politically and kept going to church even during Covid. That was the only group of people that improved their mental health.

And actually, Aaron, they didn’t tell all the truth about this, but, you know, we got attacked because we were the last big church in Colorado Springs to close. We were the first big church to open. And we actually notified the health department, told ’em what we were gonna do, felt like we were within the bounds of the law to do that. They felt like we weren’t, I told ’em we’re gonna go ahead and do it anyway. And, but the later the health department came and attacked us, but we actually had a couple of people, and you know, we got a couple thousand people call this church home, about a thousand a week come to physical live services. And we have a lot of people from around the nation and world that connect by livestream and give here and, you know, they’re fed here. But you know, all this, you know, being said, with all that, we buried a couple people, you know, from Covid related issues, but both of the people that we had funerals for with Covid related issues, they actually had preexisting conditions. And one of them was pretty early when they didn’t know. Well, both of ’em were pretty early. They didn’t know quite what to do physically for it. But we actually had three funerals here. None of these people came to our church, but they were all connected with people in our church and they were all for men. And, and you know, one of ’em was like 35 or six, one of ’em was in his fifties, one of ’em was in his seventies. All of these people committed suicide and they needed to be around people. And they actually hid the facts here in the health department because I don’t believe that they wanted people really to know the truth. But that what they did in Covid, locking people up and separating them from people, actually worked more against people physically. We had more funerals that we did concerning suicide than actually physically dying from Covid. So it was just a lot of fear. And actually you had a study that they did in Australia, a fear study. I don’t know if you remember the numbers on that, but you preached about it one time. But in Australia, the fear of it was like a hundred times worse than the actual, you know.

Oh yeah. There’s a survey done on, you know, if you were to get Covid, how likely do you think you would die? You know, what do you think your chances of dying would be? And people thought like 50% that they would die if I were to contract Covid. They had so much fear. But it was actually like a 10th of a percent of people. So, like fear you could see, just statistically was just rampant.

And so we need to operate in peace. Peace is part of faith and not fear. Amen.

And I love what the Bible says in Philippians four, verse six and seven, be anxious for nothing. For nothing. You know, one, one of the greatest words that God has spoken to me and continues to speak to me is don’t worry about it.

  Right.

Sometimes I’ll be praying about something or really concerned about something and God will just tell me with the very strong, you know, intuition, don’t worry about it. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanks giving. Man, being thankful, man, that thankfulness is like a sword that just cuts anxiety. If you’re dealing with anxiety, just start being thankful. With thanks giving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

  Amen.

I love that the peace that God actually guards, it surpasses all understanding. So this is a peace that isn’t explainable, it’s a peace that’s not normal, it’s a supernatural kind of peace. Supernatural fruit of the Holy Spirit kind of peace. I remember one of my professors, she taught me for several years, but she just asked me, “Why do you never worry?” I mean, I have things that I’m concerned about, things that I pray about, but I really walk in peace. And I just said, “I don’t worry because I know God’s gonna take care of me.” She wasn’t a believer, but she saw, you know, just amongst all of her other students she taught that just, I don’t come to her falling apart, just worried about different situations. I’m just consistent in who I am and what I do.

Aaron, you have a half a million dollar education. You’ve got a doctorate, you got your undergrad at Carnegie Mellon, and then you got your master’s and your doctorate at Rice University. And by a miracle of God, when you graduated, by God’s grace, by God’s provision, you absolutely had no debt. You heard a word from God and God blessed you, and God helped you tremendously. But a lot of people in that position, you studied primarily classical music, you studied some on business administration with your undergrad, but, you know, there’s not a lot of flute jobs out there. And you went out, auditioned. You were in the top, you know, of some of the top symphonies in the nation. You were, you know, in the top three. So that was really good, but God never fully opened that door for you to go into. And then God opened the door for you to come here, and you prayed about it for several months before you made the decision. But I think your life really spoke to people, and I think it continues to speak to people, even colleagues that you had in college, your instructors, different people because they would be dealing with major fear, major anxiety about work, about provision. And because you didn’t fear you operated in faith, you’ve lived in a lot of blessing.

And the world really deals with a lot of fear. And you know, over the past few years, you’ve just seen a lot of people, the things that they put their faith in, have been shaken. Maybe they put their faith in the government and like, you know, maybe you voted for Joe Biden, maybe you didn’t, but like, if he’s your hope, like he can barely speak a coherent sentence, you know, no one should put a lot of faith in the government, you know, in any political party really. But I definitely don’t vote for political parties that promote, you know, infanticide, killing babies. I just personally, I’ll never vote for someone that supports abortion, period. You know, if you think about it, Jesus came to this earth. He could have come as a fully formed child or fully formed adult, but he came in utero. God chose to give his his best gift to the entire world in the uterus of a woman. There’s something sanctified, something holy, something miraculous about life in the womb. So I will never, ever, ever vote for anyone who supports abortion. I’ll never, ever, ever listen to a minister or even send them a single dollar if they support abortion. To me, it’s completely ungodly. And I know a lot of people have had abortions. There are people in our church who’ve had abortions. God loves you. He wants to restore you. He wants to redeem you. And they are miraculous stories of his redemption. So, and he does not want you to bear shame, bear guilt. That is not what life is about. God wants you to have an abundant, full life. And I’ve just seen women who’ve gone through that, you know, who’ve been set free from the shame of that. And praise God that God wants to minister to people in that way. But, I just think, man, the peace of God, it is powerful. And I love that you just said from Isaiah 26, He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon you. Some of you, when you pray, you just pour out your anxieties, your frustrations. You need to start being thankful. I remember I counseled a young man not too long ago he felt like he had all these frustrations and anxieties, but his problems weren’t really nearly as big as most people’s problems are. And I just told him, “Hey, when you pray, just pray in tongues.” So I could tell he just complains in his prayer. In his prayer life. I said, “For a month what you need to do, whenever you pray, you can only do two things. You can only pray in Tongues or if you go into English, you can only be thinking thanks giving. For a month, that’s the only thing.” Because he needs to kind of shift his mentality.

And it takes about 30 days to break a habit. So some people have just an anxiety, a fearful habit that’s stuck on loop. And even it affects how they approach God and their relationship with God. Peace is dealing with your relationship with God.

Amen. That is great advice. Some of you watching today need to take Aaron’s advice and for the next 30 days when you pray, only pray in Tongues or thank God and be thankful and break your habit of thinking. Break your habit of focusing on the negative. If you need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit as a believer, and receive that gift from God about praying in Tongues, you can call in today. Our prayer ministers are here. They’re ready to pray for you and minister to you. And I just wanna say a great big thank you today to all of our partners.
