More Than Enough Part 5 Transcription

Friends, I’m so glad that you’ve tuned in with us today. We are concluding our series that my son Aaron and I have been teaching this week on More Than Enough, and he’s gonna be sharing on the miracle of manna. This is an amazing miracle of God’s provision for the children of Israel. And it happened consistently over 40 years. And I believe that God has miracles of provision for you. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re connected with us today. I’ve got my son Aaron here and we’re sharing on a miracle that I’ve never heard a lot of people really talk about in the realm of increase and more than enough and it is a phenomenal example. So I’m gonna let Aaron go ahead and start today.

Yeah, awesome. Well, I’m really excited to share about this particular miracle of provision, we’re sharing on more than enough, and I’ve been studying a lot on more than enough miracles throughout scripture. And this is a very unique miracle in the Bible. It’s a miracle that took place every day, six days a week for 40 years. And it’s hard to describe, so hard to describe that the name for it is, what is it? So we’re talking about the miracle of manna. So manna literally means, what is it? I have a nine year old son and he’s not supposed to say any bad words. He’s kind of learning some bad words at school, but he knows he’s not allowed to say them at home. And so rather than say, he ask well, can I say what he double hockey sticks? And I said, “No, you can’t say that just ’cause it’s not very nice.” I said, “Hell is a place, it is a destination, but you shouldn’t say it in that form because some people consider it to be a swear word.” So when people saw this miracle food, they said, “What the, what is it?”

[Lawson] What is it?

And God actually spoke to me and told me to study this out in preach on it. And I didn’t really want to, I haven’t heard a whole lot of teaching on manna in the miracle that it was, but that same day, my best friend called me up and he had an extra ticket to a Denver Nuggets game, a basketball game. So we went up and we went with his dad and an older sister. And his dad’s a very wealthy engineer, owns his own company, does a lot of contracting for the defense department. And Carter Springs where we’re at, has a lot of military here. There’s a lot of army bases, air force bases. So it’s a great place to be a engineer that builds missiles and things like that. So that’s what he’s involved in. So we went up in his, and his parents are more of a stronger denominational Christian background. So much more traditional, but they kind of, they’re very blessed financially, but they don’t try to show it ’cause they don’t wanna offend people at their church. So, he bought a new Tesla and he said his wife, doesn’t like them driving the new Tesla to church. And I said, “You know what? It’s all right. Jesus doesn’t mind you driving the Tesla,” because they’re very special people, very hardworking and love God and are huge givers. Like they actually live close to the Broadmoor, which is a very famous five star resort. And the Broadmoor brings in lots of employees from other countries ’cause they can kind of pay them less but then develop them as chefs and things. So, they have a lot of young adults that are from other countries that are living there for the summer when tourism is really high. And they actually have, they do a Bible study and feed all, they’ll have a hundred of these international workers over their house.

That’s great.

And feed them and share the gospel with them. And so I think it’s fine that they have a Tesla. So, but anyways on the trip up to Denver from Carter Springs, I asked my friend, we were gonna eat dinner before he said yes. And we ended up stopping at their favorite restaurant. Which I think is kind of funny ’cause they’re pretty wealthy. So I was thinking, well maybe it’s gonna be a really fancy restaurant but we actually stopped at a hospital, at an Adventist hospital.

There’s a reason these people are wealthy.

Yeah, they’re very good stewards. But the name of the restaurant is, it’s in Castle Rock, Colorado. Halfway between here in Denver at the Adventist Hospital, the name of the restaurant was Manna. And the next day I was gonna be preaching on manna. So it was confirmation to me that I was supposed to preach on manna and God show me some really cool things about this miracle. So Exodus 16:1, it says, “they journeyed from Elim and all the congregation of the children of Israel, came to the wilderness of sin.” And that’s a place not talking about, the sin nature type of thing, “Which is between Elim and Sinai. On the 15th day of the second month, they departed from the land of Egypt. Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness and the children of Israel said to them, “Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord, in the land of Egypt when we set by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full for you have brought us into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.” So this is a pretty big complaint. For a while my wife had this little sign in our kitchen and it was a sign, it said, “I’m sorry about what I said when I was hungry.” And it has like a bite taken out the corner of the sign. And sometimes I’ve kind of learned being a dad. I have a nine year old and a two year old and and my wife, sometimes if there’s a lot of complaining going on, just feed people, feed your toddler, feed your children, feed your spouse, and then that’ll kind of solve some of the complaining, the hangriness.

I walked through the grocery store, when I was hungry yesterday and your mama told me, “I shouldn’t go to the grocery store when I’m hungry.”

No, don’t shop when you’re hungry. Don’t shop when you’re desperate. Don’t shop when you have a lack mentality but I like what happens later here, verse four, the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will reign bread from heaven for you.” There’s a saying that if you’re gonna make a lot of money, you’re gonna make it rain. But God knows how to make it rain. He said, “I’m gonna reign bread from heaven for you. The people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not. And it shall be that on the sixth day they shall prepare what they bring in and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.” ‘Cause they weren’t allowed to gather on the seventh day, which was the sabbath day.

Because it would breed worms and snakes.

Breed worm. And this is kind of a unique miracle because it said that if they gathered too much up any particular the leftovers that they tried to hoard, that’s what happened. People didn’t trust God and when the miracle first happened, they didn’t trust God and they gathered too much. They started hoarding it. Hoarding is a symptom of a lack mentality.

Right.

If you are hoarding things up, it’s a symptom of a lack mental.

Listen, I’ve seen people that have went without when they were young, so on and so forth, and they’ve always gotta be carrying extra food or this or that. It’s because they have a lack mentality because they’re afraid of running out. They’re letting fear motivate them. And we really saw a lot of that go on in covid. People were just acting crazy.

Hoarding toilet paper and hoarding…

Everything.

You couldn’t even find spaghetti noodles at the grocery store. Verse six says, “So Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel that evening you shall note that the Lord has brought you out of the land of Egypt.” They’re complaining against Moses and Aaron and saying, “You guys just took us out here to kill us. It’s your fault, we’re hungry.” Verse seven, “In the morning, you shall see the glory of the Lord.” One reason why God wants to provide for us, is because he wants to show us his glory.

[Lawson] Yeah, amen.

And it says, I love this in verse seven, it says, “For he hears your complaints against the Lord, but what are we what that your complaint is against us.”

Now stop right here, in verse seven. It says, “In the morning, you shall see the glory of God.” And he’s talking about provision, the glory is connected to the gold. And if you study the book of Haggai, God’s talking about the blessing on the temple. And he says, “The silver is mine and the gold is mine. And this last house, the glory of this last house will be greater than the former.” The silver and gold are connected to the glory. And I actually believe that the reason a lot of ministry struggle in the realm of finances, is they’re not connected to the glory. Now what do I mean by that? What I mean by that is this, the glory, if you study glory, glory is talking about the presence of God. When the glory came in the temple in the Old Testament, the presence of God came so strong. The priests were not able to minister, stand to minister because the glory had filled the house. The glory is talking about the power of God. When Jesus was at the grave of Lazarus in John chapter 11, he said, “If you’ll believe, you’ll see the glory of God.” And the the power of God when Jesus called Lazarus fourth, literally picked Lazarus up out of the tomb and blew him out. So the presence of God, the power of God, but the glory of God is also connected to the purpose of God. In first Corinthians 15, it says, “There’s one glory of the sun, another of the moon and the stars.” So that’s connected to their purpose. So when you get, when you get walking in your God-given purpose, there’s a glory connected to that, right? And the presence of God is connected to the purpose of God and the power of God is connected to it. So when you operate in your God-given glory, your God-given purpose, the presence God and power of God are both connected with the glory, but also God’s provision, right? God says the silvers button, this is in the book of Haggai chapter two, check me out, the silver is mine, the gold is mine. And in this place, right, I’m gonna give glory. So when you stay connected to your God-given purpose, right? There is wealth, right? There’s the presence of God, the power of God, and provision of God.

To your God-given purpose.

Sometimes people try to…

Connected to your given purpose.

Try to find gold outside of what they’re called to do.

Right, and that’s..

That’s a trap. That’s actually the of riches.

That’s right that’s letting, that’s you serving money instead of letting money serve you. And I see people sometime, they serve money rather than let money serve them. And I made a decision right when I was 17 years old that I’m not gonna let money rule me. My granddad and my grandmother offered me to give me their ranch, which was worth at that time, well over a million dollars if I would stay there and run it. Well, I knew that I was called to God a preacher. If they would’ve offered to give it to me without that stipulation, I would’ve received it. But I could not receive that and stay true to my God-given calling. I didn’t know at that point in time where God’s call would take me. So I chose and I made that decision decision, I made a very conscious decision at that point in time. I made a very conscious decision when we moved to Colorado Springs, and left the church in Kit Carson that we had started and we were doing well there. We were very blessed. We had our house, paid off our car, paid off our little feed, lot paid off our church paid off. But we came here and we sold our house, right? And we sold our feed lot just to put a down payment on a house. We had to go to six banks to find even a banker that would loan us the money with over 50% down. And yet, when we did that, God really blessed us in that but I made a conscious decision at that time. I’m not gonna let money be the reason that I make this decision and I’m a very financially focused person. My dad died when I was a young man and I think part of that is part of the reason that I’m very financially observant and conscious. But I said I’m not gonna let money ever be the number one reason that I make a decision. I’m gonna let God be the reason that I make a decision. And the glory is connected to purpose. And we’ve been here, we started this church with almost no money and no people. And God has blessed us in here after 20 years, we have 120,000 square foot facility that’s completely paid for in the most prosperous area in the city. And so God has blessed us and helped us and it takes a lot of money to right to pay the staff. We still have to have faith to turn on the lights, and to do all these different things and to be on television and do all these things that God has given us to do and put ahead of us, and to so seed into other ministries. So it doesn’t end here. It really never ends when you keep believing, you keep going forward. But we’re gonna take a very short break, but we’re gonna be back and we’re gonna talk more about this miracle of provision, this miracle of more than enough. And you wanna stay tuned. I believe there’s some revelation, Aaron, that you got on this area that I have never heard anyone share. And it is phenomenal revelation about more than enough. So stay tuned, you’ll be blessed. Thank you so much. Friends, we are sharing this week on more than enough and we have a special offer and I believe that these teachings will bless you and help you come to a new level of financial increase in your life. I have first of all, my book “Provision; Releasing Supernatural Increase In Your Life.” Andrew Wommack wrote me a forward, Dr. Doug Weiss and also Jesse Duplantis, who has a great anointing of increase, wrote a word about this book. So I would like you to get this book. I believe it’s very practical and I believe this practical information will help you come to a new level of financial increase in your life. Also, we’ve included my teaching, “Four Pillars Of Financial Success.” And if you get this working in your life, I guarantee it will bring increase to you. I’m offering both of these to any person who becomes a new partner with Charis Christian Center this week, blessings. Praise the Lord friends, we are right here in Exodus chapter 16. We’re talking about the miracle of manna. A 40 year miracle, six days a week of more than enough. That’s amazing.

It’s phenomenal. So God tells Moses and Aaron what he’s gonna do and Moses and Aaron are communicating it to the children of Israel in Exodus 16 after they’re complaining. And I love what Moses and Aaron said here in verse eight. They said, “This shall be seen when the Lord gives you meat to eat in the evening and in the morning bred to the full. For the Lord hears your complaints, which you made against him and what are we, your complaints are not against us but against the Lord.” And God’s spoken to me a few times when there’s a lot of complaining going on, that sometimes that complaint isn’t really against me or against another staff member, another pastor at church. Sometimes those complaints are really against the Lord.

Yes.

And Moses and Aaron had that discernment from the Lord. These complaints weren’t against them personally. So sometimes as a leader you shouldn’t take everything so personal.

Right, we take far too much too personal.

Yeah, I do too. And I think that’s…

Lawson Perdue in included in that.

Yeah, but these complaints were against the Lord really.

A lot of times people are complaining, they have a really bad habit of complaining and the world people complain a lot, we need to get over it in the church. Mama’s mom, your grandmother Anne told your mother, “If you complain, your bones will be strewed in the desert.” And that happened. We see that happen right here with the children of Israel. When they came out of Egypt.

Well, when I was preaching us on a Wednesday night, we’ve had complaints against our church and it’s kind of funny, I told everyone to go to Google and look up our church and look at the Google reviews of our church and look at the one star reviews, the low reviews. And those peoples, their complaints really aren’t against us, not against the pastors, not against this church, not against this congregation, but they’re really complaints against the Lord.

Against the Bible.

Yeah, and…

So if you do that, you go to Charis Christian Center on Google, you look it up.

And then leave us at five star review.

Then leave us a five star review.

It actually helps us ’cause some people, we actually have pretty good reviews overall. So good in fact that the main newspaper here in town voted us the number one place to worship in.

Yeah, we just had a family come.

And people saw that.

This past Sunday and they came from California and they’re looking for a really nice house but we ask them, “How did you go?” And the people at our hotel recommended our church because of this thing that was in the newspaper. And they’re staying at this actually place where I go to the gym. I’d been to the gym there running that morning before church. It was really nice to meet them but it’s good to see people are actually recommending our church as a place to come in for worship.

From reviews that were left, yeah. Anyway, so in verse 13 it said, “The quail came up at evening and covered the camp. And in the morning the dew lay all around the camp. And when the layer of dew lifted, there on the surface of the wilderness was a small round substance as fine as frost on the ground. So when the children of Israel sought, they said to one, what the, you know, what is it? For they did not know what it was.” And Moses said to them, “This is the bread which the Lord has given you to eat. This is the thing which the Lord has commanded, let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omr for each person according to the number of persons, let every man take for those who are in his tent.” And it said, “Everyone gathered so much that there was no lack.” There was no lack. But some people didn’t trust God. They actually, they hoarded, they got it too much. And it said the next day it bred worms and stink.

[Lawson] Yeah.

Cause they’re only supposed to get, they were supposed to trust God every day, live by faith every day. And that’s what he was trying to teach him, was how to trust him every day.

And in the realm of increase, we need to continually be believing God, right? We believe God, before we came here, we had to believe God to get our first property here. We believe God and we believe God in a lot of realms, in the realm of giving. We believe God to so succeed and we believe God in the realm of receiving to receive our first building. And then we believe God for this building and believe God to pay it off. And now we have to believe God to pay the bills every day to pay the staff. It’s a lot of money just to take care the staff.

Thank God every day for decades.

The the utilities at this church are 10 times what the utilities, over 10 times what the, it cost us much a month a lot of times to run the utilities on this church as our last church did in a year. But we believe God, it’s God’s provision for us. And so God gives us what we need to take care of it. And you know what? It’s not a problem. And we couldn’t have the staff we do, we couldn’t do a lot of the outreaches that we do and things we do without a facility like this. And so God’s blessed us and he’s blessed us so that we can be a blessing to our community.

Yeah, we have more than enough. It’s actually, this building it’s an outpouring of God’s grace and, and provision and abundance. And we’ve used it to help bless other people. And there’s a theater company called The Thorn. They’re a very famous theater company. They started here in Carter Springs and they’ve gone on tour, but they needed a facility to host their production of the “Passion of Jesus, The Crucifixion of Jesus.” And a lot of people have gotten saved.

[Lawson] Right.

Probably thousands of people have gotten saved from watching this on production about Jesus. And they packed this place out three or four times, just sold out. 1500 seats on the show. And it was awesome. It was for the glory of God. That’s one reason.

Many people come into Christ.

That’s one reason why God wants to really provide, is just to manifest his glory. He wants to be known and he wants…

We’ve had other groups…

Man, there is a God in Charis, there is a God at Charis Christians Center. There is a God in Charis, there is a God on your street, there is a God where, there is one true God.

Now, Aaron, when you talked about this,

Quail.

This miracle of quail that God did and he sent them, God gave them quail and and you talked about how for 20 miles from the camp there were quail, every morning, six days a week.

Yes, you study about the quail in numbers.

My goodness.

So in Numbers, the Bible also talks about this miracle, but in Numbers it talks about the quail. And I love Numbers ’cause I’m kind of a numbers person. My dad’s very strong with numbers. He actually taught me how to multiply and divide before I was even in kindergarten, showing with pennies, rows and columns. But in Numbers, it said when the quail came that the quail stretched out from the center of the camp clear out to a day’s journey. So a day’s journey is 20 miles, you can walk 20 miles in a day. So in every direction. So, the radius from the camp, they were quail 20 miles. So that’s like a circle, right? So there was a circle of quail around this camp, 20 miles. And it said the quail was two qubits deep.

Deep.

So a qubit’s a foot and a half. So it’s three feet.

Three feet.

So there there’s like waist high quail.

It’s just even hard to imagine.

And I actually calculated the surface, I think it was 1500 square miles of quail. You can calculate it there at home. I don’t have my calculator.

That is 1200 in some, 3.14 times.

3.2 Pi r is, no pi r squared.

Yeah, Pi r squared.

Pi r squared.

The radius was 20 miles.

Pi r square.

So 3.14 times 20 mile.

Yeah.

It’s over 1200.

Square miles.

Square miles section, 1200 section.

So we just, my dad grew up on the farm. So I…

So if you have like one of these new fangled combines, today they cost about over a half a million dollars. You can combine, if you can combine for about 20 hours in a day, that’s if you don’t get much due.

It’s a robotic combine.

On a wheat farm, which is a square section. It’s a mile 640 acres, a square mile. You can do about one section a day if you don’t have due, I mean that’s just pushing that thing to the ultimate max.

So do 1200 square miles.

1200 square miles. I’d take 1200 days if you ran every day. I mean…

So four, five years.

Five years running one every day at full.

We’ll pick up that…

That is so much provision. I mean, that is more than enough Aaron, and God fed 2 million of the children of Israel every day.

Consistently.

Six days a week. And on the sixth day they gathered double, he took care of them seven days a week.

He was teaching, hey, you need to set some things apart. There was this day.

There was absolutely no lack. There was absolutely no, it was an amazing provision that God made for them. And I believe that God has made an amazing provision for every one of us in the person of Jesus. And I believe that when Jesus died on the cross, that he not only provided for us physically, not only provided for us spiritually forgiveness for our sin, emotionally peace for anxiety, but he provided for us physically and financially. If you read Isaiah 53:4 and five, you can see that Jesus provided for us spiritually, emotionally, physically in his death. And if you read second Corinthians 8:9, you can find out that also when Jesus died on the cross, that Jesus made provision for us financially. And so, in these four areas, Jesus made provision for every person. And just like we can believe God for forgiveness of sin and peace for our mind and healing for our body, we can believe God for physical and financial provision. Our God is more than enough and we want you to receive more than enough. In fact, I’ve got a lot of teaching in the area of finances and it’s available.
