Healing Covenant

God doesn’t change– He stays the same! All throughout the Bible, we see that it is clearly God’s will to heal. When the Israelites left Egypt, God told them that He is the LORD who heals them. There are so many promises in the Bible for healing. All of these promises still remain true and are part of God’s covenant with believers through the finished work of Jesus. If you are a follower of Jesus- you can see that He is a healer. He was either healing someone, going to heal someone, or coming from healing someone. As you listen to these teachings, we know that faith will be stirred in your heart and that your faith will make you well in Jesus’ name!

Healing Covenant Transcript

Friends, I’m so glad that you tuned in to the broadcast today. We’re gonna be talking about the healing covenant, but we’re gonna be specifically talking about how anybody, anywhere, can receive any promise from God. And if you begin to understand these principles of faith, this will work for anybody, anywhere, with any promise. So open your heart and receive God’s word today. Friends, it’s so good to have you with us today. And we’ve been sharing all of this week on divine healing, and we’ve actually been talking about how that we can know the will of God in the realm of divine healing. We talk faith begins where the will of God is known. And we actually talked about four reasons that we can know it. Number one, because it’s God’s nature. Number two, because it’s God’s promise. Number three, because of the life of Jesus. And number four, because of the cross, what Jesus provided at the cross. But today we’re gonna move in and begin to talk about how you can receive the healing power of God. It’s important that we know how to receive the power of God. And in Mark chapter five, there’s a really amazing story about a woman with an issue of blood. She had been bleeding for 12 years. She had been to the doctor, she was very sick. She’d spent all her money. She wasn’t any better, but rather grew worse. But when she heard of Jesus, it caused a response. When she heard of Jesus, she began to do some things. And faith is really talking about what you do. Amen.

  Amen.

  So Aaron, share that.

Yeah, so here in Mark 5, we’ll start in verse 25. It says, “Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for 12 years and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus.” I love that she heard about Jesus.

Your faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

So she heard about it, people have to hear about Jesus.

  Man, it’s about Jesus.

  Amen.

The gospel is about Jesus. Amen.

And healing is about Jesus too. Jesus is the healer.

  Amen.

You know, and when you hear good teaching on healing from the scripture, it needs to be focused on Jesus.

  Amen.

There is no healing apart from Jesus. He is the healer. Says, “She came behind him in the crowd and touched his garment first, she said, ‘if I only may touch his clothes, I shall be made.'” Well, so as she heard about Jesus, she just started having faith stirred up in her heart, and she started saying something.

You know, faith will actually cause you to say things. It’ll cause you to speak a little different than people around you.

  Amen.

You’re not just gonna be speaking doubt and unbelief, but what you’re saying, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. When you have faith, you’re gonna be speaking differently. You’re gonna be speaking words of faith, you’re gonna be speaking life, you’re gonna be speaking hope. So she had hope, she had faith. She began to say, “If I only may touch his clothes, I shall be made.” Well, and I love that. It’s just so simple. She didn’t make it this grand thing like I have to go climb Mount Everest and I have to do something for 10 years. It was just so simple. Faith is such a simple thing.

  Amen.

She said, “If I may only touch the hem of his clothes, I shall be made well.” And she did this in verse 29, said, “Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.”

  Yeah.

So she could tell that something changed. You know, that flow of blood, it was a very internal kind of thing she was dealing with. But she could tell that something had shifted inside of her body. She felt the power of God. And this is so cool. In verse 30, it says, “Jesus immediately, knowing in himself that power had gone out of him, turned around in the crowd and said, ‘who touched my clothes?'” So a lot of people come to Jesus and they pray this kind of prayer for healing, if it be your will. This woman did the opposite of it. She didn’t even ask Jesus, is this your will? Is it okay if I touch you? Is it okay if I believe for this? Is it okay? She just went, man, faith just goes for it.

  Amen.

She knew that Jesus was a healer. She knew she didn’t have to ask because she knew the will of God. Faith begins where the will of God is known. She didn’t have to ask, is this your will? She didn’t have to go up and say, maybe it will work, maybe it won’t.

Now, I believe the reason that she knew it was the will of God, Aaron, was because she heard that Jesus was healing the sick. And like we had studied earlier in the week in Mark chapter one about the leper who came to Jesus and said, “Lord, if it’s your will, you can heal me.” And Jesus said, “I will, Be thou cleansed,” and touched him and then told him to go show himself to the priest and he was healed. But it says in Mark 1:45 that, “As he went out,” this leper went out, “he began to publish it much, and blaze abroad. He couldn’t help. He was so excited about what Jesus did for him. “Blaze abroad the matter, insomuch Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in the desert places,” the deserted places. “And they came to him from every quarter. And I believe we can have the same kind of results today when we began to tell people the truth about what the Bible says.

And, you know, I love that she received in Jesus. He knew that he could sense that power, just like she could sense power entering her body, Jesus could that same power leaving from his body, going into this woman. And man, it’s just so incredible. He said, “Who touched my clothes?” And this woman just knew that Jesus was completely good. She knew that she would receive healing. You know, Jesus talking about the Father. He said, you know, “Which one of you would have a child come to you and ask for bread and you would give him a stone? Or if he’d ask for a fish, you’d give him a scorpion?”

  Right.

And God is so much better of a father than you are. A lot of people think if they come to God today, that if they ask for bread, ask for healing, they might get a stone or if they ask for fish, they might get a scorpion.

They don’t. And, people, you know, ministers that don’t preach that God is completely good, that he just wants to give you bread, he wants to give you fish, he wants to give you life, he wants to give you healing, if they don’t preach that, I wouldn’t give to their ministry. If they preach that it’s good of God, that people are sick and that it’s actually God’s will for them to be sick, I would just put scorpions in their offering box. Because that’s essentially-

I wouldn’t put scorpions in their offering box.

  You know, but.

But listen, that is not gonna produce life. It’s not gonna produce good things. And it’s amazing how a lot of ministers really are maybe afraid to really teach what the gospel says. Or maybe they just don’t believe it. You know, I know when COVID happened, I mean, we were the last big church in Colorado Springs to close, the first big church to open. But I know churches close to here where the pastor actually told people, I’m really afraid of this COVID. I’m really afraid. You know, I’m not living in fear. You know, fear and faith are polar opposites. And we’ve been talking about faith and we’ve been talking about how you can have faith because you know who God is, you know what he promised, you know who Jesus is and you know what Jesus did on the cross, but now we’re talking about how it’s manifested. So just go ahead and read the rest of that, Aaron.

So, you know, Jesus, you know, he felt this power leave him. And he asked, who touched my clothes in verse 31. It says, “His disciples said to him, you see the multitude thronging you. And you say, ‘who touched me?’ And he looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.” So we see Jesus get, the touch of faith is different than just,

Yeah, there’s a multitude throng in him. You know, like you say, the touch of faith is different. And actually when you look at this scripture, Jesus was ministering as a man anointed by the Holy Ghost. And if you’re honest with yourself, did you know what this woman knew that she was healed before Jesus knew that she was healed. Now, Jesus felt the power of God go out of him. He felt the goodness of God, the virtue, the goodness and power of flow out of him. He knew somebody received something, but he didn’t know exactly who it was.

  That’s really amazing.

That she felt in her body that she was haul that plague before Jesus ever really knew who she was.

So the Jesus, his consciousness, his his awareness, his conscious, wasn’t involved with this healing. Like Jesus could have been taking a nap. He could have been taken a nap on a boat, and she could have reached up and touched his hem and received her healing

  Because she believed.

That’s how powerful that touch of faith was.

  Yeah.

And you know, said, “She fell before him and told him the whole truth. And he said to her ‘Daughter, your faith.'” I love that he calls her daughter. ‘Cause daughter, you know, that’s not about fear, you’re part of the family. You know, we’re sons and daughters. What manner of love is this that we should be called his sons and his daughters? So he said, “You’re a daughter, your faith has made you well.”

“Go in peace and be healed, be whole, be well of your plague.” Amen. What a marvelous word. You know, this woman heard about Jesus. She believed and because she believed, she began to do some things. Faith will cause you to do some. The first thing is that she said it. The second thing is that she did it, right? This was probably hard. She’d been bleeding for 12 years. I believe she’s probably crawling through the dirt, the multitudes stalking him, saying, if I could just touch him, if I could be touch him, if I could be touch him, I’m gonna be healed. And then she received it. You know, I shared on this recently in a church service and a man came to me after the service and said, “You didn’t talk.” I shared a lot of scriptures on receiving. But he said, “You didn’t talk really a lot about how do we receive.” And he asked me, “How do we receive?” I said, well, I believe one part of it, is just thank God for it. Just thank God. I believe thanksgiving is a voice of faith and joy is kind of an attitude of faith. But just begin to thank God for it. But then, you know, she fell down before him and she told it. You know, your testimony is powerful, you need to keep telling people what God has done for you. I had Don Krow, a minister friend years ago. He ministered with Andrew Wommack and he was here in Colorado, Springs. And he came to our church for a period of time. But Don said, “Lawson, when you tell a story, it might be 20 years ago, but it’s like it was yesterday.” And he’s like, “The things of God are just so real to you. And they are, boy, I don’t forget ’em.” And we need, you know, God told the children of Israel, “Beware unless you forget,” we need to remember. But she fell down before Jesus and told him all the truth. You need to keep sharing your testimony. You need to keep telling people about the good things that God has done for you.

You know, every three or four months, we sent out a big newsletter from our church. And, you know, there’s usually some thoughts and points from my dad’s teaching, but we always include a testimony. I think it’s really important to include testimonies ’cause testimonies really speak to people. That’s why Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, the epistles, there’s a lot of testimonies shared because that really stirs up faith.

  Amen.

You know, I’ve been to, different meetings and hear different ministers, but some really great healing evangelists, a lot of ways they stir up faith is by having people share testimonies.

  Amen.

And that that gets people thinking. You know, sometimes they don’t hardly preach a message, they’ll just have people start testifying and then do little teachings in between those testimonies as they go and minister to people.

Yeah. Because you know what, when that testimony, they’re testifying about Jesus. They’re telling about what Jesus has done and that built, Smith Wigglesworth, they said a lot of times he’d go into a place and look at the worst person and tell him, you know, and minister the power of God. And then man, the place would just break loose, and a lot of people get healed.

That’s awesome. So you have a testimony to share, man, God is so good. I love the scripture. It says, “The testimony of Jesus is a spirit of prophecy.” Jesus is still alive today. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. And if he’s alive in you, you have a testimony and God has greater things in store for you.

Amen. We’ll be back right after this break. Friends, it’s great to have you with us today receiving the word of God, but we have so much more to share. And in these teachings, you can receive them either in downloadable audio or downloadable video off our website at CharisChristianCenter.com. They’re absolutely free of charge and we have them and many others. So go to our website and receive God’s word. I’ll tell you how to get your prayers answered. Jesus actually said this, “If you abide in me and my word abides in you, you’ll ask what you will and it shall be done unto you.” You’ve taken up residence in him. Let his word abide on you, praise God. And just call on the name of Jesus. Friends, I’m so glad that you stayed with us. We’ve been talking from Mark 4:25-35 about the woman with the issue of blood and how she received her miracle from God. And there’s actually four different things that she did. And years ago, a minister of the gospel taught this message and he said, “If you’ll operate in these four principles of faith, anybody anywhere can receive any promise from God.” You know, Jesus paid for the promises of God to be ours and that’s the grace of God. But it takes faith on our part to receive the grace of God. And so we got a number of things. We said, the first thing that she did when she heard was she began to say some things. And if you really believe things, you can’t help but say some things.

Yeah, hearing is so important. I remember years ago when I was just a kid, I had this CD of my parents, and it was a healing scriptures and healing, just music. It was Sharon Daugherty made this CD years ago. So this is probably like 30 years ago. I remember when I was a kid, I was feeling really sick, like I had the flu coming on me. And I just laid in my room and played that CD and within an hour, I was perfectly fine.

  Amen.

So even as a kid, I knew that there was power in the word of God, and just faith comes from hearing the word of God. I remember that CD is just very anointed. The word of God is anointed, the word of God has power. But listening to good music, good worship music too, that just takes you to the presence of Jesus.

  Amen.

It’s not just spending time in the presence of Jesus will set people free. I know just sometimes during really anointed worship here at church, people receive healing, their hearts are stirred for faith. They get breakthrough just during worship, just spending time in the presence of Jesus.

Amen. So she heard about Jesus and she said within intercept, the first thing she did was she said, she said, “If I could touch his clothes, I’ll be made whole.” In Matthew 9:21, it says, “She said, within herself.” In the amplified in Matthew 9:21, it says, “She kept saying to herself. Man, when you really get faith in your heart, you’re gonna say some things and you’re gonna keep saying some things. And your words are really powerful. See, a lot of people don’t understand the power of their words. But Jesus said this in Matthew 12:34, he said, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” And then he went on to say in verse 37, “By your words you’ll be justified and by your words you’ll be condemned.” Man, death and life are in the power of our tongue. It’s not by somebody else’s words that I’m justified, it’s not by somebody else’s words that I’m condemned, it’s by my own words. It’s not by somebody else’s words that I’m healed, it’s not by somebody else’s words that I stay sick, it’s by my words. You know, my words have power. James says this in James chapter three. James is a great book on faith. But James chapter 3:6 says, “That our words are like a spark that sets on fire, the course of nature. You can change the course of nature with your words.” Next week we’re gonna have on Jackson clip, and he was in our church for like four years, and he had been given a terrible, terrible report by the doctors. He dealt with this sickness for years. And he was on 11 different medications a day. But one morning when he was 10 years old, he woke up and he said, “You know what? Pastor Lawson got healed when he is a little boy and I’m gonna get healed.” And he said, “I’m done with the devil and I’m done with this sickness.” And praise God, he got healed that day.

You know, I just had this thought, come to me, but you need to fuse your words with the word of God.

  Amen.

You know, one of the most powerful, I was listening to a scientist talk about fusion. He’s a nuclear scientist and they’re making advances in fusion. And right now there’s like nuclear power plants that function off of fission, which is splitting really large atoms like uranium and plutonium, which are some of the largest atoms that they make energy from, from fission, from splitting atoms. But nuclear fusion, which is how the sun operates, and he said there’s enough power in the sun for it to go on for 10 billion years.

He said, a fusion reaction is 10 million times more powerful than a fission reaction.

And the sun, it’s so large and so compact, it produces light and heat that powers our entire planet.

You know, through fusion and it takes the two smallest atoms, which is hydrogen and fuses them together, making helium. But you need to fuse your words with the word of God.

Amen. Praise God. You know, the word of God has power in your mouth. I love something that my good friend Mark Hankins has said for years. And he said this, “The word that has been spoken to you must be spoken through you. You know, Paul talked about this in Second Corinthians 4:13. He said, “We then having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken, we also believe and speak.” You can’t separate your words really from what you believe at a heart level. You know, some people say the right words when they’re coming to church, trying to look pretty. But I’m talking about when you meditate the word of God and you get it down on the inside of you, you’re gonna say some things. You’re gonna talk to people.

You know, the word of God is actually meant to be spoken, it’s meant to be professed, it’s meant to be uttered. You know, our Old Testament in pretty much every English translation is based off of the Masoretic text. So the Masoretes were these Jewish scholars kind of in the medieval era, who took the Tanakh, the Jewish Bible of the Old Testament and they, you know, in that time period, people would, they would go to synagogue, they’d go to church and they’d hear the word spoken out loud. It was part of the tradition. So what they did, they took the Old Testament text and they added vow points so people know how to say it, but they’d also add, it’s called cantor marks. ‘Cause the word, it was spoken was also sung. So the word wasn’t just meant to be just read, but it was meant to be spoken.

  Amen.

To be spoken out loud. And that’s how the word of God is meant to be spoken.

I say things, man, I say like, by Jesus stripes, I am healed. I say I am healthy and strong and doing the will of God. In fact, you can go to our website and we have four different confession cards. One of ’em is on scriptural promises for divine healing. And you can download it on our website free of charge, or you can call into the church and one of our people call you back. And we can mail that out to you here in the continental United States. And so, you know what, we’ve got these things available. I’ve got one on healing, one on provision, I’ve got one on who we are in Christ. And then we’ve got one on scriptures that I prayed over my children, by your mother. And it’s very powerful. You know, recently I prayed a prayer at our women’s conference. I was just called, and they asked me to pray a prayer over these young people that had come forward, young ladies. And I prayed this prayer, and one of our men used to be over all the children’s ministry at a very large church. And that church was huge at that point in time. And he was actually online watching and he came to church on Sunday after this and said, “You need to take that prayer and you need to write it down. And then you need to get that in people’s hand and they need to start praying that over your children.” And a lot of things are just what I prayed over you three, your and your two brothers when you grew up. And he said, “Man, that’ll change people’s lives. Man, when you pray the word of God, when you pray and agree with what God says, man, there is power in your prayer, there’s power. So not only do we speak the word of God, we ought to pray. It’s amazing how many people pray things that are completely contrary to what the Bible says. And so the very first thing that this woman did is she began to say some things. In fact, Jesus talked about how faith works in Mark 11:22-24 And he said, “Have faith in God for verily I say unto you,” in verse 23. “Whosoever shall say to this mountain, be thou removed and be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe those things which he sayeth shall come to pass, shall have whatever he says.” He talks about saying three times as much as he talks about believing. Mark Hankins says this, “You gotta say it three times for every time you believe it.” Because if you really believe something you can’t help, you know, but say some things. And he says, “Therefore, I say to you in verse 24, whatever you want when you pray, what do you really want?” Jesus said, many times, “According to your faith be it done unto you, believe that you receive them and you shall have it.” Go ahead, Aaron. Yeah, I love that she spoke this too. And it’s really important that she testified, she said, what happened? Because this actually created a continual reaction for other people to receive healing and have a great testimony as well. So she just said what happened, you know, Jesus said, in Mark 5:34, “Daughter, your faith has made you well go in peace and be healed of your affliction.” You know, this woman actually interrupted Jesus. He was on his way to pray for a 12-year-old girl who had been very sick. She was the daughter of Jairus who was the ruler of the synagogue there in Capernaum, where Jesus lived. Very powerful figure there in Capernaum. He was the head of all the religious people, the organized religion there. He was the head of all of it. He was the ruler of that synagogue.

  Amen.

And his 12-year-old daughter got so sick, he went to Jesus. It probably was a very bold thing for him to go to Jesus. Because controversy surrounded Jesus. But he went to Jesus because he knew that he was the healer, that he was a miracle worker. And as Jesus and this woman we’re talking, it said in verse 3:5, “While he was still speaking, the circumstance changed very negatively. Some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, ‘your daughter is dead, Why trouble the teacher any further?’ As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said.”

Yeah. Jesus contradicted unbelief and circumstances that were contrary to what he promised to who he was with his words.

And he said, “Do not be afraid, only believe.” It was very simple what he said.

Yeah, and then he went in and basically spoke to her. He put out all the unbelievers, just took in people that would believe what him and said, “The people laughed into to scorn.” You know, he was not really accepted by the multitude.

Well, to me that’s a picture of a lot of churches today. There’s just a lot of unbelievers in a lot of churches. And when you preach on healing, when you preach on the power of God, people start laughing you to scorn.

Yeah, but Jesus spoke the word and said, “Talitha cumi or Damsel, I say you, arise.” And he took her by the hand and lifted her up.

  Amen.

Praise God. So we need to learn the power in our words. And again, this is just the first point of a four point message that we’ve shared all today. But you can go to our website and we have this message on Healing Covenant plus three others you can download ’em audio or video absolutely free of charge.
