We really enjoy having some of our grandchildren live here locally and spending time with them.  The other night we spent some time with them while their parents were out.

While my husband gave our ten-year-old grandson a piano lesson, I got our two-year-old granddaughter ready for a bath.  She was enjoying the bubbles, and playing with her bath toys.  I began to sing a song; “jump in, splash, splash, it’s time to get clean.”  I took a couple of her toys and had them jump in while I sang this little song I had just made up.  My granddaughter began to mimic exactly everything I did and sang.  She took her toys and had them jump in and also joined in singing, “Jump in, splash, splash, it’s time to get clean.”

We were having a lot of fun!  This was a good reminder to me how very impressionable young children are.  I have a question for you.  Who are you imitating, and who are your children, or grandchildren imitating?

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:1 who we should be imitating.

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.”

Ephesians 5:1

I like that, be imitators of God, like dear children.  It’s valuable for all of us to understand God’s word; and how it is safely directing our steps and our families.  There is an enemy to God, the deceiver the devil who hates God and His children, His creation.  The devil wants only to distract, separate, and isolate people from God and His amazing plans He has for all of His children.  The deceiver, or devil has been very crafty with much deception using people to take impressionable children in their innocence and get them to imitate ungodly things.  This attack has come in ways of deception through many different avenues.  It is an attack on God the Heavenly Father and His beautiful creation.  This attack is so ungodly to try and convince children to want to change their gender.  The deceiver uses movies, commercials, social media, schools, libraries, and parks and playgrounds.  Places of innocence.  People who come out dressed as drag queens, using inappropriate sexual behavior, to try and get the very young and impressionable to mimic their bizarre and ungodly behavior.  I will repeat myself; whom are your children imitating?   

“Surely you must know that people who practice evil cannot possess God’s kingdom realm.  STOP BEING DECEIVED!  People who continue to engage in sexual immorality . . . sexual perversion, homosexuality . . . abuse – these will not inherit God’s kingdom realm.” 

I Corinthians 6:9-10 (Passion)

Do you see in this verse the warning, “STOP BEING DECEIVED!”  Even rat poison has clear warnings on its packaging:  DANGER.  THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.  CAN CAUSE DEATH.

The GOOD NEWS friends is there is a way to STOP the deception.  We can come to God and He will extend grace and mercy.  Help is available!

“It’s true that some of you once lived in those lifestyles, but now you have been purified (sanctified) from sin, made holy, and given a perfect standing before God – all because of the power of the name of the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, and through our union with the Spirit of our God.”

Be imitators of God.  Accept His amazing plans He has for you!  

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:11 & 13

Stop being deceived!  God loves you!
