Drawing from Psalm 139, she shows that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that every day of your life was written in His book before one of them came to be. From Proverbs 22:6 she explains that we are to train up a child in the way he should go, according to the natural gifts and strengths God has placed in him. Those gifts need nurturing so that when he is old he will not depart from it and will not be lost concerning his purpose. Spirit, soul, and body all need to be developed. Pastor Barbara shares the three key things they focused on while raising their children: teach them to love the Word of God, teach them to love their family, and teach them a practical trade along with a strong work ethic. These become the foundation for lasting success.

The teaching then turns practical with Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In every situation acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Using the story of the Red Sea in Exodus 14, Pastor Barbara and Pastor Lawson show that when you feel trapped, God still says, “Why do you cry to Me?
