We’re so glad that you’re with us, blessings. Praise the Lord, friends. I am so glad that you’re here on the broadcast with us today. Share this with your friends. We’re gonna be sharing about faith in God and how you can please God by faith. Did you know what? You wanna live to please God, and you can do it. Praise God by faith in Jesus Christ. And so the Bible actually says this, in Hebrews 11:6, it’s says, “Without faith it’s impossible to please God. For he, that comes to God must believe that he is. And that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” One translation says it this way. You must believe both that God is and that God rewards those. Praise God, who diligently seek Him. So what’s gonna happen when you really understand that, you believe that God is and that He rewards those. It’s not just believe in God is, you know what? There’s a lot of people out there that believe in God. The Bible says the devils believe and tremble, that they don’t know that God only is God, everybody knows there’s a God, but they don’t know that God is good. So you gotta believe both. You gotta believe that God is. And that God is good. He rewards those who diligently seek Him. That’s the difference between truly having faith, right? That pleases God and faith that doesn’t please God, without faith it’s impossible to please Him. Everybody knows there’s a God because he that comes to God must believe that He is. If you’re gonna come to God, you gotta believe that He is number one. And number two, believe that He rewards those who diligently seek Him or that He is good. As a good God, He rewards us who diligently seek Him. So when we come to God, we believe that He is. And we believe that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Now we come to God. Here’s the deal, if you’re really a person of faith, you’re gonna go to God first. Where do you go first when you’re in trouble? When you have difficulties, when you have problems. But when we come to God, we realize that we need Him. I need you, I love you. I surrender myself to you. In John 15:5, the scripture actually says this, “Without me,” Jesus said, “You can do nothing without me.” Now, when I started my first church in Eastern Colorado, I was just 23 years old, turned 24 really quickly right after we started. But I had something on the inside of me said, I can do this. And you know what? That’s one attitude of faith. Philippians 4:10. I believe it is verse 13 actually says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me and that was a good aspect.” Now we pastored there for 13 years, but then when I was 36 years old, we moved to Colorado Springs and we started the second church. Now the second church we started, Charis Christian Center, first church, church of the redeemed and Kit Carson. Then we moved to Colorado Springs and we started the second church and I told Barbara, my wife, I said, “Honey, I want you to know that if Jesus doesn’t show up, we are done. We are toast. We are finished. The Lord has to help us.” And I had this attitude without me you can do nothing. I wanna ask you a question. Which position is stronger? They’re both correct, right? And in a sense they’re both the same, but it’s kind of a different take on it. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Philippians 4:13 or John 15:5, “Without me,” Jesus said, “You can do nothing.” I actually believe the second position is stronger because in the second position I realize, listen, unless Jesus shows up, unless the Lord’s in it, unless the Lord’s with me. I’m not gonna be able to do this. John Wesley at the first of his life, he’s the founder of the Methodist Church. the Wesleyan kind of movement, sanctification movement. When he started out preaching, did you know what? They made laws that if he would come within five miles of a town, they would arrest him. And yet, by the end of his life, he did not have a horse fast enough to get to all of his meetings. And at the end of his life, his favorite saying was this, “Best of all, best of all, God is with us.” Hallelujah. Do you know what? You and Jesus are a winner? Praise God, you and Jesus, hallelujah. And so you need to know that God is with you. And when you get a revelation of that, I need Him, without me, you can do nothing. Now, both of them, the first one, even Philippians 4:13, when it says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” that’s not talking about your own strength. That’s not talking about your own. He says, I can do all things through Christ who strengthen, it takes Christ, strengthen you, Christ helping you. And then Jesus saying this without me, you can do nothing. We need both those attitudes. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, but we also need to keep this attitude, without Him, we can do nothing. Jesus, we need you. Hallelujah. So Jesus, I need you. The second attitude really of coming to God is I love you. You know what the difference in the world and the church is? Let’s look at this scripture in John 14, John 14, and we just quoted John 15:5, very strong principles of the New Covenant, related in John 15. But in John chapter 14:21-23, it says this. “He that has my commandments and keeps them. He is that loves me. And he that loves me shall be loved to my Father and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” So if we have the commandments, he says and keeps him, he it is that love me. How can you tell that somebody loves God? ‘Cause they keep the commandments and His commandments the Bible says are not grievous. Now what are the two New Testament commandments? According to first, John 3 about verse 23 and 24. The New Testament commandments are believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and love your brother. You see love is the fulfilling of the law. Romans 13:10 says, And you can’t love your brother and steal from him. You can’t love your brother and lie about him. You can’t love your brother and commit adultery with his wife. You can’t love your brother’s wife and commit adultery with her. You can’t love yourself and commit adultery with your brother’s wife. So he says, “Love is a fulfilled law. He that has my commandments and keeps them. He it is that loves me.” So if you love God, but that love direct, right? And love yourself begin to see yourself the way God sees you. I’m telling you why so many people sell their selves out far too short, is they don’t see themselves the way God sees them. “He that loves me will be loved to my Father. And I love him and manifest himself to him.” Judas said to him, “Not as scary, Lord, how is it that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus says, it’s in verse 23. “If a man loves me, he will keep my words and my Father will love him. And we will come to him and make our bow with him,” all right, so if we really love God, we’re gonna keep the Word of God. Jesus said the Father’s gonna come to you. He’s gonna come to you and make our boat. He goes on to explain that in verse 25 and 26, that the Holy Spirit’s gonna come and take up his residents in us, praise the Lord. That that changes how we live our life. And so, first of all, I need you, I love you and then I surrender myself to you. You see knowing Jesus as Savior, Lord and King. Praise God, I know you as Savior, praise God, I need you Jesus to save me, help me deliver me. Praise God, knowing him as Lord. I love you Jesus, right? And not only that I surrender myself to you, Lord and King. So we not only need to know Jesus as a savior, the one who saved us from our sin, the one who delivered us outta hell and taken us to heaven. Isn’t that good? Amen, but we need to know Him as our Lord and our King. I surrender myself to you Lord Jesus. Now talking about surrendering ourselves to Him, let’s look at this in Philippians 2:5-11, we’ll begin to read the scriptures here. Talking about surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Do you know? I wanna surrender my life to the dominion of Jesus, to the absolute authority, to the absolute dominion of Jesus, Philippian 2, beginning in verse five. He actually, he says this, “Let this mind be in you.” That was in Christ Jesus. I want you to think like Jesus. “Who being in the form of God did not think it robbery to be equal with God.” Jesus was with God in the beginning, creating all things. He did not think, it wasn’t robbery to be equal with God, but he made himself with no reputation because of humanity. “And took on Him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. So Jesus humbled himself. It says, it goes on to say, “Being found in the fashion of a man. He humbled himself and became obedient to the death, even the death of the cross.” So Jesus completely identified with humanity, taking our sin and went to the cross to be crucified. “Because of this.” Reading verse nine, Philippians 2:9, “God has highly exalted Him and given Him a name, which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow things in heaven.” Now Jesus is Lord of heaven. How do we know He’s Lord of heaven? “He was in the beginning with God creating all things. All things were made by Him, without Him was not anything made that was made.” John says that beginning of his gospel, John 1, “All things were made by Him,” says in Colossians 1, that he made all things, right? All things are created by Him and for Him, without Him was not anything made that was made, right? So Jesus is Lord of heaven. And he says, “Because Jesus became obedient to death even the death across, God gave Him a name higher than any name, and of things in heaven, Jesus’s Lord of heaven creating all things and things in the earth.” Jesus was Lord when he walked on the earth, Jesus was Lord over sin, Lord, over demons, Lord over disease, Lord over death, Lord over storms, Lord over lack, you name it, whatever problem they had. Jesus had authority over when He walked on the earth, remember, the disciples are fighting a huge storm they’re they’re on the Sea of Galilee. It’s basically large lake, about eight miles wide, 13 miles long. Jesus comes walking on the water. Would’ve passed them by, and they cried out for fear. “Lord, if it’s you,” and Jesus. Peter says, “Lord, if it’s you bid me come.” Jesus said, “Come.” So he gets out of the boat and walks on the water to go Jesus Lord over that sea. Praise God, he’s Lord over nature. And then he gets back in the boat and he said, “You know what? What’s why are you guys so troubled? You know what? How long do I have to be with you, you little faith? Cause they’re so focused on the storm rather than focus on the storm. Focus on the Messiah. Rather to focus on the problem, focus on the promise. And so Jesus speaks these words. He says, “Lord in heaven, Lord in the earth and Lord under the earth.” Now how do we know Jesus is Lord under the earth? Well, when Jesus went to the grave, Colossians 2, I believe it’s verse 13. Or verse 14 says that he spoiled principalities and powers made his show of them, openly triumphing over them in it. So Jesus defeated, Jesus conquered principalities and powers. Jesus made a show of them openly and then he raised from the dead victoriously. He said this in Revelation 1:18. “I am he who liveth and was dead, behold, I’m alive forevermore, amen. And I have the keys of hell and death.” Jesus’ Lord of heaven, creating all things. He’s Lord of earth when He walked on the earth, He’s Lord over demons, Lord over disease, Lord over lack, Lord over death, Lord over nature, Lord in every situation when He walked on the earth and then when he went to the grave, Lord of God, He’s Lord over Satan. Why is He Lord? Because Satan didn’t have any right to hold him because He never sinned. So He conquered Satan. He spoiled principalities and powers Colossians 2:15 and made a show of them openly triumphing over them in it. Now we can walk in that same victory as Jesus. You know why? It says, because in verse 14 it says he blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was in our way taking outta the way, nailing it to his cross, having forgiven us all trespasses. You see what gave Satan a right in the life of humanity was sin. But Jesus paid for our sin and forgave us. And because that Satan has no right and the grave has no power to hold those of us who have believed. So when you make Jesus, Lord Jesus is Lord over heaven, Lord over earth and Lord over the grave. He says, “At the name of Jesus, every knee bow things in heaven, things in the earth, things under the earth and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father.” If you have never made Jesus your Lord, I implore you. I beseech you. I beg of you in Jesus name to receive Christ, say, Jesus I believe you’re the Son of God. I believe that you died for my sins. I believe that God raised you from the dead and made you Lord, in Jesus I confess your Lordship. I live for you as you give me the strength in your name I pray. Friends this week we’ve been sharing on faith in God will change your world. And I am so happy to be sharing with you. This faith package. I have this book from my good friends, Mark Hankins, Mark and Turner Hankins on “The Spirit of Faith.” We have “World Changing Faith.” One of my best series. We have “Four Keys to Faith.” And then finally we have, “Have Faith and Doubt Not” these are some of my very, very best teachings on the realm of faith. And if you begin to understand faith, I believe it will literally change your life. It’s changed mine. Praise God, it’s changed my financial position. It’s changed my spiritual condition. It’s changed my physical condition and it’s all good. God wants to do good things in your life. And he does it through grace and faith. So if you want to get this teaching, just give us a call today or check us out online. Thanks so much and blessings. Praise the Lord friends, we’ve been talking about how faith pleases God and the Bible says this, Hebrews 11:6. It says, “Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. For he that comes to God, most believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” One translation says, you gotta believe both that He is and that He rewards. So not only do we believe that God is, we believe that God rewards or we believe that God is good. You see in Romans 1:20, the Bible basically says that every creature knows their creator. So it says you’re without excuse. Everybody believes that God is. James says this, the devils believe and tremble, but do you believe that God is good? See the Bible actually says this in James 1:17. It says, “Every good and perfect gift comes down from above, from the Father of lights with where there is no variableness neither shadow attorney.” Verse two 16 says this, “Do not air my beloved brother.” In other words, don’t turn from this principle. If it is not good and is not perfect, it could not come from God because all God could give are good and perfect things. So do you believe that God is? And do you believe that He’s good if you do you’re gonna be moving towards Him. You see, without faith it’s impossible He’s God, because he that comes to God and must believe that he is. And that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. So because I believe in God, I believe He’s a good God. Did you know what I believe that God is? And I’m diligently seeking Him. I’m moving towards Him because I believe that He’s not only God, but He’s good. And He wants to do good things in my life. Now He rewards because He’s good. Now the message of the Gospel really is the message of the goodness of God. Now we said you can’t get saved without what it tells. And we read the scripture, Romans 10:8-10, but I wanna go on from there for. I wanna read verse 11 through verse 17 in Romans 10, talking about believing in God and the goodness of God, he says for the scripture says, “Whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.” Whoever believes on Jesus, not gonna be put to shame. He says, “For there’s no difference between the Jew and the Greek.” Verse 12, “For the same Lord overall over Jews and Gentiles is rich, unto all that called upon Him.” God will be good to everybody. Amen, He’s rich. He distributes without, has plenty for all he says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord.” How do you get saved? Just calling the name of Jesus. Just before the break prayed to receive Jesus, just say, Jesus, I believe you’re the Son of God. I believe you died from my sins. I believe God, amen, raised you from the dead. I believe He made you Lord. And right now I surrender my life to you. Amen, praise God. If you do that, you mean it from your heart. The Bible says you’re safe. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. How will they call on him and who may not believe? Many times, did you know what people aren’t believing God? Because we haven’t told him who he is and how will they believe on him if they’ve not heard? So we gotta tell people about God, tell about the true God who God really is. How will they hear without a preacher? Now I don’t believe that Romans 10:14, is talking about a five-fold ministry office. When he says, preacher, I believe he’s talking about everybody. Everybody who calls on the name of the Lord and Savior should be sharing the good message of Jesus and how shall they preach except they be sent. In other words, if we’re gonna preach the gospel, we need to be sent by God. I had Bible school friend grew up saying, well, some of them were called. Some of them were sent. Some of them got up and went. Now I believe he was called to be an evangelist. And while we were in college, he was traveling. He preached 50, out of 52 Sundays a year. 50 means a year is a lot of means to preach in other churches. And he did that on Sundays. So 50 outta 52 Sundays he’s preaching. And he was doing well. I believe he’s called to be an evangelist. He decided that he would go and be a pastor and I don’t believe he’s called anointed or appointed to be a pastor. And he went to do it and failed miserably, brought lots of grief, lots of pain, lots of problems on his family that I don’t believe would’ve had. I don’t wanna pastor, unless God calls me to pastor. And I don’t wanna pastor somewhere that God didn’t call me to pastor. We got too many people trying to run their own thing. They’re not called or in order to be a five-fold minister try to operate. Now he was called in the five-fold ministry as evangelist and did very well. But when he tried to move into pastoring, it didn’t work out very well because that was not the calling. That was not the anointing on his life. Did you know what? You better operate and what God calls you to be. And so he says, “How will they preach, except they be sent?” Some of them were called. Some of them were sent. Some of them got up and went this guy that said that in a little bit after he was pastoring, all his get up and go got up and left because he was trying to operate in anointing that God did not give him. So God did not give you a specific five-fold ministry gifted, Jesus didn’t give it to you. The Bibles talks about Jesus when He is raised from the dead, took captive and gave gifts to men. And he gave some, this is Ephesians 4, 10, 11, 12, some apostle, some profits, some evangels, and some pastors and teachers for the maturing of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body. Some people try to operate in office and they aren’t building up nothing. And they’re not. They’re trying to operate in an office that they’re not anointed to do and you make a mess out of there. So don’t make a mess and blame it on God, okay? Now he says, “How will they call on him and whom they’ve not believed? How will they believe in whom they’ve not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?” In other words, we need to preach the gospel. “How will they preach except they be sent?” Again, we need to be sent by God as it’s written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace?” The good news of peace that God made peace between God and men. When Jesus died and rose again, the Bible says, therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus. Romans 5:1. He says that preach the gospel of peace that bring good news of good things. This is the gospel, the good news of good things that Jesus wants to save you, heal you, free you, prosper you, sanctify you, make you righteous and be your peace. Amen, and live, you could live in his presence, be present with you and help you. He wants to be ever present help in a time of trouble. How beautiful on the mountains are those who preach the gospel of peace that bring good news of good things that not only does Jesus wanna save you, wants to heal you and bless you and help you. Praise God, he says, but they’ve not all obeyed the… Not everybody heard the gospel obeyed the gospel for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” Who’s believed the message. He says, “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God or faith comes by declaration and by declaration by the mouth of God. So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. So in the Old Testament, again, we had a progressive revelation. We went through all those names of God who God is, right? And then in the gospels, we get a picture right through Jesus, that he is what our provider, our healer, our peace, our righteousness, all these different things. And then in the epistles, we begin to see Christ in us. So we begin to understand that we’ve got righteousness and sanctification and peace and provision and health and healing and blessing all on the inside of us. You see that we begin to realize in the Old Testament God’s name in the Gospel’s God’s Son, and then in the New Testament, the Gospel reveals that God’s true nature is in us as believers. Paul wrote about this in Colossians 1:27 and said, “Christ in you, the hope of glory,” said I’ve been preaching the message that’s been hidden from ages and generations. And when you begin to understand that Jesus Christ, the resurrected Lord of eternity has taken up residents in you. It will completely change how you live your life. And so my question to you today is this. Do you know God? Because faith really is knowing God. Great people of faith are people who know God is Christ living in you.
