The Commanded Blessing Part 3 – Lawson and Aaron Perdue

Praise the Lord, friends, and welcome to the broadcast. I’m so glad that you’ve tuned in. Did you know the devil himself cannot curse who God has blessed? He may try to do it, but you know what, those curses are powerless when we understand the truth of God’s Word. You need to stay tuned to this broadcast so you can begin to move into The Commanded Blessing of the Lord. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re here today. And we’re continuing to share on The Commanded Blessing of the Lord. It’s so good to know that we live under the commanded blessing of God. And we’re going to share some stuff today that I believe will really help you and encourage you. You know, a lot of people think that they’re blessed, but then they think people could put curses on ’em and all this, but you know what, it don’t work on me because the blessing of the Lord is greater than that. And we’re going to go to the Scripture and show that to you. You see, we’ve been purchased, we’ve been redeemed from the curse of the law, you know, by Jesus. He became a curse for us so that the blessing of Abraham might come on us through Jesus Christ, and through faith when we put our faith in Jesus. And when you realize the power of that blessing and the power of Christ’s blood, I love something that Mark Hankins says, he said, “We’re blood blessed.” Man, it is the blood of Jesus Christ that purchased our redemption, and purchased us out of the curse and brought us into the blessing. And when you begin to realize that, it changes the way that you live your life. You know, the Bible actually says this in Colossians chapter 1, in verse 13, that God delivered us from the dominion or the authority of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, or the Sons of His love. And when we understand that, we have been completely delivered, we have been completely set free from Satan’s dominion and we have been brought into the kingdom as children of Almighty God. And, you know, if you look at that verse 12, prior to that in other translations, it says this, that we are qualified for the best blessings of God. Amen. We’re qualified by the blood of Jesus. Amen.

And, you know, as we look at, we’re going to go to Numbers 23 here in a moment, and this is, you know, the story in the account when Israel is coming out of Egypt, they’re coming out of the house of bondage, you know?

That’s really great.

That’s God’s heart for all of us, to take us out of bondage.

Right.

You know, Jesus said, you know, He who the Son sets free is free indeed. God’s heart is to take people out of bondage, to break those chains off of people. And as they were coming into the Promised Land, the Promised Land was theirs, but it didn’t mean that like, that it just happened automatically. There were people who came against them, you know? And here in Numbers 23, we see that there’s actually this enemy king by the name of Balak, who had someone with a great prophetic gifting that he wanted to hire to put a curse on Israel because he knew this prophet, Balaam, you know, he had these spiritual gifts. And if he could get him to curse Israel, then it would happen.

Right.

But Balaam, you know, didn’t want to go initially. Then started going. And God actually put a donkey in his path that spoke to him and said, you know, God can speak to you through different, God can use whoever He wants. He has all types of vessels He can use. I actually just recently saw on social media, there’s a woman who she says she’s an atheist and, you know, says she’s, you know, a liberal, but she actually went with a friend to an abortion clinic and went behind this abortion clinic and there was a waste truck there, and they were loading boxes, and they asked if they could take one of those boxes. And they took one of those boxes and there were dead, you know, children-

That’s terrible.

in those boxes. And she said, “When I held that, it just,” she is vehemently against abortion. She can’t stand that Democrats, and she still, I think she’s going to change, but she can’t stand that Democrats just, this is their main thing for their platform. And she actually went to a meeting where Kamala Harris was speaking at a church from the Book of Esther. And she was thinking about protesting, and she’s kind of teamed up with other pro-life people. But she doesn’t know anything about the church. She’s never been to church in her life. She doesn’t know anything about the order of service, anything. And she asked her friend, who’s pro-life and a believer, you know, “Should I say something?” And he was kind of talking to her while she was there, and she said, “Come on, finish your little talk from Esther.” And then the pastor of this church got up and they put a Scripture on the screen. And God was actually speaking to her. I think she’s going to be a believer very soon. But there was a Scripture that said, it’s Mordecai speaking to Esther, and he’s saying, “Esther, you have to take a stand for the Jewish people. If you don’t stand up for them, you know, God will send someone else.” And she just stood up and said, “This is sacrilege.” She could just tell, like them having Kamala Harris talking about abortion at that church was complete-

It is terrible.

sacrilege.

God is pro-life. If you don’t understand that, you are crazy. And thank God your mother was pro-life. And this is an atrocity, this is-

But she is shocked that Christians, that people who claim to be Christians, that people who claim to be pastors support this. And she says she’s an atheist. I don’t think she’s going to be, but God, if He can talk through a donkey, if people aren’t going to stand up for the truth, He’ll talk through whoever He can-

Well, I want to say this. There are no true atheist biblically speaking, because Romans one says that every created being knows that they have a creator. And most people who claim to be atheists are really mad at God, because they think God did something negative or evil to them. And, again, this is a result of many times us in the church not standing up and telling the truth about who God really is and what He did. And most of the time they’re mad it’s because some work of the devil that happened to someone and they’re accounting it to God, and so they’re mad at God and claim to be atheists, but there are no atheists in the foxholes and there are no true atheists. Everybody knows that there’s a God. And, you know, this is just a tragedy. And in the state of Colorado, in this last election, they had this thing, you know, and it’s just terrible people, you know, trying to get it in our Constitution. Colorado is already one of the worst states in the nation, I think one of the six worst states where they allow partial birth abortion. And that is to crush a baby’s skull while it’s coming out of his mother’s womb.

It’s completely barbaric.

It is complete murder. And people that allow this, this is just off the charts evil. And if you study the national debt in the United States of America, and look when the national debt started and compare that with when we started allowing abortion, and, thank God, it is not a constitutional right in the United States of America. Thank God, you know, for a conservative supreme court that overturned Roe versus Wade, and now states can actually stop this, that some of these states, just like the one we’re in currently, is just terrible what we’ve allowed. And we need to stand up as believers for the truth and be counted.

Mm-hmm, yeah. And God can use, you know, people, just people who are willing-

Yeah.

to speak truth. And, you know, so Balaam was on the way to go see Balak, and like he had this word that whatever God says, you have to say that, period.

Yeah, so Balaam is a foreign prophet from a foreign nation. He’s not an Israeli. But Balak, this foreign king, hired Balaam, this foreign prophet, because he had been somewhat successful to curse the children of Israel. And when Balaam came, Balaam did not curse them, he blessed them. And he blessed them not only once, he blessed them three times. But we look at this and it, when the Lord gave Balaam this word and said this, “He came to Balak, this wicked king,” in verse 19, Numbers 23, verse 19, and this is his second prophecy or blessing over Israel, and he said, “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: Hath He said shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? Behold, I have received commandment to bless.” He received commandment from God. God spoke to this foreign prophet. And it says, “He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” See, I want you to realize that the devil cannot reverse the blessing of God on our lives as believers. But the only thing is if we believe it. And so we need to realize that we have power over all the authority, over all the works of the devil.

I love too, you know, this first phrase right there: “God is not a man.”

Yeah.

You know, God is God, and you’re not Him. You know, your boss isn’t Him.

That’s right.

The governor is not Him. The president is not Him. God is not a man; God is God. His ways are higher than your ways. His thoughts are higher than your thoughts. His truth is the only truth. God is not a man. And it doesn’t matter what man thinks.

Amen. And so God, he says, you know, Balaam’s basically saying, “God gave me commandment to bless.” And what God is blessed, the devil cannot curse. And so this is with the commandment of blessing, the devil cannot stop it. And you need to realize, as a believer, we live under the commanded blessing of the Lord. And if you’ll renew your mind to that fact, you can stop the devil’s influence and the devil’s work in your life. He’ll try to stop you, but praise God, if you can stop his deceit, you can stop his power. You know, we’re going to take a little break in just a little bit, and we’re going to come back and read some things. But you know what, when God sees you, God sees Jesus. And this is a lot of things. See, a lot of people think that, it’s not, the devil may be cursing you, but they think that God is cursing you. But as a believer, as a born-again Christian, God is not putting the curse on you. You know what, there is no condemnation, there is no judgment against those who are in Christ Jesus. And when we are in Christ Jesus, you say, “But, pastor, that Scripture says, ‘who walk not after the flesh,'” well, you have to realize what that is. That means that we don’t trust ourselves. We’re not following the flesh, but we’re not trusting in the flesh either. We’re not trusted in religion; we completely trust in Jesus. And when you begin to realize this, you know what, you can begin to walk in the blessing of God. And we’ll go into those Scriptures in the second half of this broadcast and talk about, you know, this commanded blessing.

Well, and I like this account too. Balaam, you know, he was hired to put a curse on Israel, but he ultimately blessed them, you know? Some people might want to curse you, might come against you, but, you know, God can actually shift their hearts, so actually bless you-

Amen.

And speak blessing over you and bring increase into your life. So, you know, God cares about you and the enemy can’t reverse it.

Friends, I’m so glad that you stayed with us. We are talking about the commanded blessing of God. And that you know what, the devil cannot reverse, cannot stop, cannot curse who God has blessed. And we need to realize this as believers. You know, there’s so many people, Christians I know, talk about the devil, the devil. And did you know there is a devil, and he’s real and he’s evil. But when you understand who you are in Christ and you understand what the Word of God says, you can take authority over all the works of the devil. You know, Jesus gave His disciples authority, in Luke chapter 10, the 70, and they went out and healed the sick and cast out devils. And they came back, and they said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us through Thy name.” And Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning.” I think He was talking about what He was going to do on the cross. But Jesus gave them authority over the devil. And He said, “Don’t rejoice in this, rejoice that your name’s written in the book of life. Rejoice that you have a relationship with God, because it’s a relationship with God that gives you victory over the devil.” And when you have a relationship with God and Christ, the devil is no match for you.

You know, there is a wickedness here on the earth today. There is darkness. You know, there is junk out there. But we don’t need to be afraid of it. You know, we have the fire of God. I was thinking about Elijah, you know, this great prophet. And, you know, at the time there was a big push for Baal worship, you know, all these worshipers of Baal were pushing it. They had political influence, you know. And, you know, Elijah challenged them.

Right.

And he said, “The real God answers by fire,” the real God still answers by fire today. You know, he challenged ’em. I see this in the world today. You know, this woke, LGBTQ agenda out in the world today, you know, darkness is trying to push that on people, trying to get political influence, you know? When these worshipers of Baal set up their altar trying to call it to their God, they were harming themselves, they were cutting themselves, they were, you know, afflicting themselves. That’s part of that agenda still today, where it brings self-harm, it brings mutilation to people’s bodies.

It’s terrible.

You know, just completely oppressive. You know, that-

You know, Romans chapter one talks about this, and it says that people have given themselves over to a reprobate mind. And there are some of these people that have completely given themselves over to a reprobate mind. And we should not let people who are giving themselves over to a reprobate mind rule this country and rule everybody else. And you know what, there’s other people that have rights just as much as them. And this stuff is ungodly.

Then Elijah took a stand and, you know, God answered by fire. And God is still going to answer by fire today. You know, the power of God is real. The Holy Spirit is real.

Amen.

And every believer should receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Should receive that fire power from God. You know, John the Baptist said, you know, “He who comes after me is greater than I. He’s the one who’s going to baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” And Jesus still baptizes believers with the Holy Spirit and with fire. You know, my wife, she went to a young woman’s Bible study in Let It. They asked her to come be a guest speaker just last night and she talked about the fire of God. And she said a lot of these young women, you know, didn’t really understand the fire of God, you know, know much about it, but she said she was praying over them. And one girl like fell out under the power of God. Another girl from church, Natalie, Natalie had to help catch this girl because she was just falling out.

Amen.

Just the Holy Spirit just erupted at this, you know, little Bible study. I think there were about 25 young women there.

That’s great.

But they’re being set free. You know, so we’re going to sing, we’re going to worship God, we’re going to jump and shout. And she said some of those girls had never done that before. Never really. And she said a lot were crying and being set free from, you know, depression and things-

Glory to God.

And, you know, God answers by fire.

Amen.

And she told ’em all, “Y’all need to go to a Holy Ghost church.”

Amen.

And invited ’em all to church. I think some were going to come and-

I grew up in a dead church. And I tell you what, the last thing I want to do is pastor a dead church. And I made up my mind when I got baptized in the Holy Spirit when I was just 14 that I’d never go to a dead church again. And if I had to drive 100 miles to go to church, I’d drive 100 miles, you know, to go to a good church. And you know what, we got numbers of families that drive 100, 120, 130 miles to come to this church. Praise God. We’ve got people that are coming. And generally, every Sunday, we have people from different nations-

We have people who moved here-

Different places.

to be part of this church.

We’ve had people move from other countries to come to this church.

That’s awesome.

Praise God, other states and praise God to get in a good place where the Word of God is preached in truth without compromise. But, you know, let’s go ahead and read through this, Numbers 23, verse 19. We were just reading this. “God is not a man, that He should lie; and neither the Son of man, that He should repent: as He said it, shall He not do it? Has He not spoken it? Shall he not make it good? God is going to do what He says. Behold, I have received commandment to bless; and He has blessed and I cannot reverse it.” There is no devil in hell that can reverse the blessing of God, that can stop the blessing of God on our life. Look at this in verse 21. “He has not beheld iniquity or rebellion or sin in Jacob in Israel, neither has he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.” That’s a type of the new covenant. When God sees us today as believers, He looks at us through Jesus. He sees us through the blood of Jesus. He does not see all of our sin and all of our faults and all of our failures. We are accepted in the beloved. The Scripture says in Ephesians chapter one, verse six, and it says, you know, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He made us accept it in the beloved. And you know what, that term, to the praise of the glory of His grace, in Ephesians 1:6, means that when God sees you, He sees you in your full potential in Christ. And, you know, He’s not looking at all your sin, all your failure, all your faults. It goes on to say, He’s not seen inequity, rebellion, or sin, or perverseness. He doesn’t see that in us. He sees us through Jesus. And He says this, He goes on to say this, he says, “The Lord his God is with them today,” Christ is with us. We are in Christ, and Christ is in us. He says, “And the shout of a king is among them.” We are victorious through Jesus Christ. He said, “God brought them out of Egypt,” He brought us out of slavery, slavery to sin. Now I’m reading this, you know, in an Old Testament sense, but there’s a New Testament side to this, praise God. “Surely there is no enchantment against Israel or Jacob; neither is there any divination against Israel.” People may try to curse me, but their curses are broken in the name of Jesus. And by the authority of the blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, they are broken and they have no power over me. I don’t care who tries to do this, it doesn’t work. And He said, He says, “It shall be said of Jacob and Israel, what has God done.” Thank God. And so He says, “Behold-“

Well, that’s ultimately what the blessing of the Lord is about. I said this before, but the blessing of the Lord is not just about you, and it’s to point people to God. And that’s what He’s saying here. And now must be said of Jacob and of Israel, “Oh, what God has done.”

Amen.

It’s pointing people to God. The blessing of the Lord on your life should point people, should testify of who God is.

Amen. So it says this in verse 24, goes on to say, “Behold, the people rise up as a great lion, and lift himself like a young lion: He will not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.” And Balak, this wicked king, this foreign king that tried to curse the children of Israel and hired Balaam, a foreign prophet, to curse them, said, “Don’t curse them, nor bless them at all.” He’s like, stop-

Stop talking.

Stop! Oh my God, it was scaring him. “And Balaam answered and said to Balak, ‘Didn’t I tell you all that the Lord speaks, I must do.” Praise God. I’m telling you, the blessing of God is so strong that the devil himself can’t stop it. You know, the only real power the devil has over believers is like deception. And if you believe lies, the devil can work with that. But if you don’t believe these lies, did you know what, the devil has no power, he has no authority over you whatsoever as a believer. So we need to understand what God has said. And, you know, we’ve been talking about how we gotta get a blessed mentality. And when you understand this and change your mind, praise God, we talked about in Romans chapter eight just a bit, and I want to turn over there. We just got a few minutes, a couple of minutes before we go off the broadcast. But in Romans chapter eight, there is now no judgment, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” Man, when you’re born again, when you’ve come into Christ, there is no judgment against you. God is not cursing you. God is not putting judgment on you. See, some people think, well, the devil can’t put a curse on me, but God can. I’ve heard people say, “If you do these things,” listen, God is not in the cursing business. You can open up the door to the devil. But God is not in the curse business. And He’s not putting the curse on any born-again believer, anybody who knows Jesus personally as savior and Lord, he’s not doing it because he’d be wrong to Jesus. He says, “For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, and it was weak through the flesh, God sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. For those who are of the flesh do mind the things of the flesh.” Those who think on things of the flesh, man. But He says this, “But they that are after the spirit,” we need to not be following things of the flesh, right? We’re not in the flesh, but we’re in Christ. “And we don’t need to follow things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit.” We need to follow the things of the Spirit, because we are in Christ. We’ve been placed in Christ, in the spiritual realm. He says, “For to be carnally minded,” to think legalism is carnal mindedness, and there’s a lot of carnal mindedness even in the church. He said, “That’s death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Do you know what, if you’re spiritually minded, the only thing that that’s going to produce, if you’re minded according to the Word of God and the Spirit of God, the only thing that’s going to produce is life and peace. Amen. And if you’re not experienced life and peace, if you’re not experiencing the blessing of God, it is not God’s fault. Jesus wants you to live in the blessings of God. He wants you to experience the goodness of God. You know, he is God manifest in the flesh, and He came to show us God’s goodness. And you know what, if you’ll believe Jesus and receive Him as your Lord and Savior, and truly be born of God, you can rise up and take authority as a believer over the works of the devil. And there is no curse that has power over you.
