Released Into Freedom Transcript

Welcome, friends, to the broadcast. I’m so glad that you’ve tuned in. I’ve got my son Aaron here and we are talking about freedom. We’re talkin’ about release, the Lord’s release, and we’re gonna talk specifically about receiving healing, receiving God’s provision today. So call your friends. Invite ’em to join us on the broadcast. Thanks so much for tuning in. God bless you as you receive the Word today. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re here today. We’ve been sharing on the year of the Lord’s release. Aaron actually taught this message a while back and it really, really ministered to me. And you know what? If we want to receive from God, whether it’s healing, whether it’s finances, whether it’s peace of mind, whether it’s forgiveness for our sin, it’s important that we release others and so I’m gonna go ahead and let Aaron get into the Word today, but if you wanna receive the promises of God, one thing that will really stop up the flow of the things of God to you is unforgiveness. So you wanna let that go.

Mm hmm, and Jesus really has a heart to set people free. You know, we see that. All throughout His ministry, He was really tryin’ to set people free, set people free from oppression, from satanic oppression and torment. He tried to set people, He set people free physically by healing them. He set people free from sin through the power of forgiveness and we just see that Jesus really came to set the captives free and the devil doesn’t like it when people get set free. He really wants to chain people and keep people in bondage and sometimes it’s kinda interesting when you see religious people when they’re right in line, offended by the same things that the world is offended by. I just always find it really interesting what topics offend religious people and also offend the world at the same time. You gotta be careful who you’re in alliance with and

Right, I like somethin’ you said when you were teachin’ this, Aaron. You said, “If the same thing is triggering you and offending you as a believer that offends the world, you need to really check out where you’re at” and, listen, a lotta things that the world gets offended about, the church gets offended about and when you get into that, ’cause sometimes people play on that kinda worldly mentality, one thing you talked about is money, but you never know when you’re gonna need increase, abundance, provision to flow to you and if you’ve been critical of other ministers for what they’re receiving for the blessing of God in their life, there might come a time when you really need that in your life. So I try not to criticize people. In fact, years ago, people were criticizing Jesse Duplantis over somethin’ he said about a jet and, I’m just tellin’ ya, I mean, that’s just really crazy. Most people don’t have a problem if the toy company has a jet or if a petroleum company has a jet. Your brother Andrew works for a man in a oil field company that has his own personal jet and nobody thinks about that. Nobody criticizes him, but God forbid if a preacher has a jet. But I’ve seen people that go down that road and then they come to a hard place, like ministers in their life, where they really need finances and they really struggle to receive and they kinda go down that road thinkin’, “Well, this’ll be accepted by the Word.” You better check yourself out. And I told Jesse, he said somethin’ about it one time when he was here, he’s preached for me for over 10 years every year, and I said, “Jesse, listen, I don’t care if you have 10 jets” and I really don’t. That’s not my business and so I wanna keep my eyes on Jesus, keep doin’ what Jesus called me to do and I realized, like Dr. Lester Sumrall was one of my mentors, right? And Dr. Lester Sumrall had a jet. It was an older jet, but he preached 300 meetings outside of his own church every year and he was in his own church 50 out of 52 Sundays a year and there was no way he could do that without a jet. There’s no way. Delta couldn’t get him there. United couldn’t get him there. American couldn’t get him there. He had to have a jet to get everywhere he was goin’ and preachin’ the gospel and so thank God and I asked somebody about that, Dr. Delron Shirleuy, who was the dean of the school there, when I went to Lester Sumrall’s World Harvest Bible College. It was called that when I went there and Delron said, “Tools are to be used. God is to be served and people are to be loved.” And I never have forgotten that. Praise God? And so whatever God gives us, it’s just a tool to be used. I’ve had people get offended because we have a big building. Well, it takes a building to minister to people and it takes a building so we can have kid’s ministries, youth ministries, a lotta different things that we do, and so there’s no reason to get offended. I’m not offended. Praise God?

Mm hm, Amen!

And so it just takes tools to minister to people.

Amen. And just, yeah, always be careful. I’ve seen different things where the religious people get offended and they’re kind of on the same page, same way of thinking that even the world is. So that’s somethin’ to really watch out for and you don’t wanna be just on the same side of things that the spirit of the world is on.

That’s right.

So let’s look at, there’s a story here in scripture that really stuck out to me and it’s found here in Luke 13:10, and it’s really a story of freedom, Jesus wanting to set someone free, specifically in their physical body, but it kinda stirred up a religious spirit and healing is a topic that actually can offend a lot of people. And you mentioned prosperity can offend a lot of people, religious people as well and, just in my seven years of ministry now, I’ve seen that there’s three main topics that really offend just religious people and it’s healing, which to me is absurd because Jesus would heal people left and right. If you read the Bible, there’s healing everywhere. But the topic of healing can often offend people. Prosperity can offend people, speaking about provision and prosperity. The Bible has 2000 scriptures on terms of finances and God is not against people prospering. He’s not against you having money, but he’s against money having you. But the Bible, it says that in Proverbs, “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.” So that that means you have something. Scripturally, if you’re gonna be a good man, you’ve managed well. You’ve worked hard. God’s blessed you financially and you have something to give to others. If you’re not blessed, you don’t have anything to give to other people. I heard Bill Johnson talk a little bit about the subject of finances and he said, “If it’s your goal, if you think being poor, if you think that’s holiness,” he said, “That’s actually a very prideful thing.”

That’s crazy.

Because, if you think that’s a very holy thing, just not

It’s crazy.

You won’t be able to give to other people in need.

You know, I just read a deal yesterday, I was flyin’ home from ministerin’ with your mother, but I read this article and it talked about this group and they started the Thousand Dollar Club and there’s 10 of ’em and they get together and they bring a hundred dollar tip and they do it just to bless somebody and they go specifically to a restaurant. They call it the Thousand Dollar Breakfast Club, where the waiter will get all the tips and they all bring a hundred dollar tip and then it’s grown to where they’ll give ’em 13, 14, $1,500 to their waiter and they go to different places and they know wherever the place they go to that the waiter gets the whole tip and, to do it, they all have to bring a hundred dollars and they do it not because they get served well. They said sometimes the waiters are havin’ a bad day and they don’t get that good of service, but they still bless ’em and they said it just has the power to change people’s lives and that’s not a Christian scenario, so to speak. That’s just somebody in the world that they used to wait tables when they were going to law school to make the ends meet and now they’ve been blessed and they wanna bless other people and so they’ve got school teachers. They’ve got all kinds of people that have joined them. They just go out and bless people and they call it the Thousand Dollar Club. But you can’t bless somebody with a hundred bucks if you don’t got it.

That’s true.

Poverty is not holy and I think I grew up with the mentality. That mentality was in the church. You can kinda tell where it comes from but it is not holy and this mentality, I just don’t know why people get off on it. They have not read the Bible. There’s over 2000 scriptures on riches, wealth, and finance and money in the Bible and you just need to go with what the Bible says.

I remember years ago, when I was at Rice University, I was goin’ to a Bible study with other grad students, just to connect with other believers, and most of ’em weren’t Spirit filled and didn’t think the way I did. But the professor that kinda oversaw that group was doing a study and writing an article about a certain saint from years ago, and I won’t even mention the Saint’s name, but this saint thought money was just terrible and made it a practice for him and his followers to never even touch money.

The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6, I believe it’s verse 10, it says, “The love of money is the root of all evil, which some have coveted after, have pierced their selves through with many sorrows and erred from the faith.” It’s not money. It’s the love of money. And did you know what? You can love money and not have any. And my mom grew up in a very religious family and actually they lived very conservatively and very poor. But they had money. My granddad had money. He wouldn’t spend it on grandma. In fact, they had to kidnap my grandpa one time and bring ’em out to our farm when I was a kid and he was over 80 years old and I watched him while the aunts and uncles, my mom’s brothers and sisters, carpeted their house and they took his money and spent it and carpeted their house because they thought grandma needed better and grandpa wouldn’t spend that money. He was too concerned keepin’ his money and livin’ poor. The love of money is the root of all evil, not money, and covetousness. The Bible says covetousness is idolatry in Colossians 3:5. So you gotta be aware of those things, but it’s not wrong to have money. It’s wrong to let money have you. Praise God. Well, Aaron, what we’re gonna have to do, we’re gonna have to take a break and come back and talk about the other thing that offends people and that’s healin’. We preach a lot on healing. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and His Word works and we see lots and lots of people healed by the power of God and I’m so glad that I got ahold of the full Gospel over 40 years ago, 45 years ago, and found out that healing is for today and we have seen many people healed of incurable diseases, incurable by the doctor. You know what is impossible with men is possible with God and so these subjects may be touchy but we need to tell the truth about what the Bible says and we’re gonna come back and share some truth about what the Bible says that Jesus did for us when He died and rose again. So stay tuned and we’ll be back. Bless you. Friends, we have a great offer for you today. We’re talking about “The Lord’s Release.” This is my son Aaron’s teaching and it has brought great blessing to myself as I have used this teaching. We actually have hundreds of hours of teaching, downloadable audio and video, free of charge, plus a free children’s curriculum on our website. Blessings.

I just had this headache, like a migraine or tension headache. When we came into the service, he said, “It’s on your left side, specifically right along your head right here,” and he even motioned that way and said something like, “This power of God’s gonna come on you.” I just felt like this electricity. It felt like it outlined my whole entire body. Then I just felt, wow, just touched by God.

Friends, I’m so glad you stayed with us and I guess we’re ready to get into Luke 13. So Aaron’s gonna jump into the Word. Praise God!

Awesome. Well, it says here in Luke 13, starting in verse 10, it says, “As Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath, behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity 18 years and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, ‘Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.'” I like that. He said, “Woman, you are loosed from this thing.” Jesus really wants to set people free. He wants to release people into freedom and that includes physically. It includes the subject of healing. Verse 13, it says, “He laid His hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath and he said to the crowd, ‘There are six days on which men ought to work. Therefore, come and be healed on them and not on the Sabbath day.’ The Lord that answered him and said, ‘Hypocrite.'” That’s a pretty direct word that Jesus spoke.

Well, Jesus was pretty straight.

Yeah and I like that Jesus was very just pointed in what he’s saying here. It’s okay for the church to be very pointed and very direct. A lotta churches today don’t wanna offend anyone, don’t wanna ruffle any feathers anywhere. But Jesus ruffled plenty of feathers. It wasn’t His goal to be politically correct and try to make everyone like Him.

Jesus didn’t have a seeker sensitive ministry.

No, He didn’t.

In John 6, He had over 5,000 people followin’ Him and by the end of the day they all left except the 12 and He said, “Well, you guys go too.” In other words, man, He wasn’t gonna compromise the Word of God and I think we need to get to a place where we’re not gonna compromise God’s Word. You read this recently in a service, but in Psalm 138, I believe it is, verse two, it says that God has magnified His Word above His name and we need to magnify the Word of God. We need to magnify the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and we need to be more God sensitive than we are people sensitive. Now, I’m not, you need to be sensitive to people, but you need to be more sensitive to God and Christ and the Holy Spirit and His Word than you are just seeker sensitive.

So in verse 15 here, it says, “The Lord answered him and said, ‘Hypocrite, does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall and laid it away to water it? So ought not this one, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, thank of it for 18 years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?'” So he said that Satan was the one that bound her. Satan is the author of sickness. He’s the author of disease and death and oppression. God’s not the author of these things and the Bible makes it really clear that God does not put sickness on people. God does not put disease on people. It’s the devil that does that and there there is a devil.

People could read the Old Testament and they could think that God was the author of these things. But if you study it clearly, you’ll find out that Jesus on the cross took all of the curse and the curse includes sickness. So Jesus took our sickness and, if you really wanna see God, you look at Jesus in His life and Jesus in His life never put sickness on anyone. He healed them 14 times in the New Testament. He said he healed every one of them. He healed them all. He healed them of every disease. They came from all these different places and he healed them all. 14 times it says he healed them all, but the scripture never records Jesus putting sickness on a person and I think the reason that you could get that from the Old Testament was because, in the Old Testament, they really didn’t know who the devil was and the devil is a defeated foe and so Jesus plainly says, “This woman, whom Satan has bound.” The Bible says that God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil.” That’s Acts 10:38. It says right here in this scripture in Luke 13:11 that this woman had a spirit of infirmity, that’s weakness or sickness, for 18 years and so Jesus spoke to this woman and freed her from this infirmity, from this sickness, and then He laid hands on her and healed her. Immediately, she was made straight. Praise God? And it offended the religious people. Sometimes religious people get offended about the craziest thing. Listen, I love when God heals people. I love miracles. I love to see the power of God. I love to see people set free by the power of God. I love it when God blesses people and when God helps people. I just love it. And you know what? I’m not gonna get offended over people gettin’ healed and gettin’ blessed. Amen?

Amen. And I like too, that he uses this phrase, “A daughter of Abraham.” Jesus pointed out that she’s a daughter of Abraham. She’s in the lineage of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and she is a person of faith and God cares about, there are covenant rights. The daughters, the sons of Abraham are a part of a covenant. We are a part of a covenant.

Yes!

As believers. If you’re a Jewish believer or a gentile, non Jewish believer

There’s promises for healing. Even the Old Testament too, in the Abrahamic covenant, God said in the Book of Exodus, “I’ll bless your bread, bless your water, take sickness from the midst of you.” He said in Exodus 15:26, “I am the Lord who heals you.” He said in Psalm 103:3 that He forgives all of our iniquities and heals all of our diseases. He said in Psalm 107:20 that He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. He said in Jeremiah 30:17, “I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds.” He said in Isaiah 53:5 that by Jesus’ stripes we are healed. He said, all through the scripture in Malachi 4, I believe it’s verse two, that the son of righteousness will arise with healing in His wings. We’ve got a Bible full of promises, Old Testament and New Testament, for divine healing and so this was a covenant right, right? And He said, “This is a daughter of Abraham.” And if you go over into Galatians 3, the Bible says that we are the seed of Abraham through faith in Jesus and Christ took the curse for us. So sickness and disease is a curse. So since Jesus took it, we don’t have to take it. Glory to God.

And this woman being a daughter of Abraham, Jews would talk about the children’s bread. Healing is the children’s bread and Jesus is pointin’ this out that… And as believers today, we’re tapped into that same lineage of faith by believing on Jesus.

Amen.

Really it’s faith that places you in the covenant, in these promises where it becomes your right, where you become a daughter, you become a son of God, and you’re given certain rights.

Grace makes all of the promises available, but faith makes ’em a reality. It takes faith to receive ’em. So God made forgiveness and healing and peace and provision all available in Christ on the cross. But if you’re gonna receive those things, you’ve gotta believe it and it’s important what we believe. Praise God? You and your brothers are all supernaturally blessed. You have great families. You have great jobs. You’re servin’ God. You’re in the church. You’re givers. And you know what? But you guys believe that God is for you and if you believe that God is for you, it changes your attitude. Praise God? I know that God is for me. Paul said in Romans 8:31, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” And then he explained in verse 32 how we know that God is for us. He said, “He that spared not His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things?” If God would forgive your sins, why wouldn’t he heal your body? If God would forgive your sins, why wouldn’t he meet your needs? Hallelujah! God is good to all. Psalm says, “His tender mercy’s over all of His works.” Praise God. So this woman, she came and Jesus forgave her and He healed her. Praise God? And it made religious people mad. And religious people still get mad over crazy things. I get people get mad because I’m blessed. That’s not my fault. God blessed me. Paul talks about this in 2 Corinthians 8 when he’s talkin’ about there was an abundance that was ministered by us and he said, “Don’t blame us.” In other words, God is the one who blessed us. God is the one who gave this increase to us and now we are administrating the increase that God gave to us. But don’t blame us for this increase. Don’t blame us for this blessing.

Amen, and I love that Jesus just didn’t care what religious people thought. He didn’t care what offended people and he actually went and kinda rubbed it in their face, callin’ them hypocrites and saying, “You guys are outta line and this is God’s will for her to be set free and Satan is the one who has bound her.” But I love that, when this woman was healed, she glorified God. Healing brings glory to God.

Amen! Hallelujah! When we operate in the promises of God, it brings glory to God and we ought to… All the promises of God, the scripture says, are in Christ, yes, and amen. And God gets glory when we walk in His promises. And you know what? He wants you to walk in His promises. There are some of you today that are watching and you need to receive healing and you need to receive financial blessing and I want to encourage you to call in. We have prayer ministers here at the church today that will pray for you, that will minister to you, and so I wanna encourage you to call in and receive your healing and call in and receive your miracle today. Praise God? Get them to agree with you. The Bible says, “If two or three of us will agree on earth as anything that we touch asking it, it will be done by our Father, which is in heaven” and so believe these promises are for you. Believe that by Jesus’ stripes, that you were healed. Believe 3 John:2, that God wishes above all things that you would prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers. Aaron, go ahead and pray for the people.

God, I just thank You so much for everyone tuned in watching this broadcast right now.

Thank You, Lord.

Lord, I just think that You’re touching bodies right now, Lord. I just thank You, Jesus, that You are here. Amen.

We know it’s not from you, God. We know it’s from the enemy, from Satan, Lord. I just think of that, Jesus, You are healing bodies right now. I just think that Your healing power, Your healing virtue, Your healing anointing is just flowing over people’s bodies right now from the top of their head even to the tips of their toe to the soles of their feet.
