Promise, Price, and Power of Redemption Transcript

Welcome, friends of the broadcast. I’m so glad that you’ve tuned in. We’re gonna be talking about that the Bible is a book of redemption. When I was a teenager, I studied the book and I read it. My Sunday school teacher actually had it for a while on the Bible in light of our redemption. And you know what? You need to get a revelation of redemption that comes from the scripture, and it will revolutionize your life, so stay tuned. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re with us today. We are sharing today on promises of redemption. And we’ve been sharing all this this week. Thank God there are so many promises of redemption and the Bible is literally just full of them. And I entitled this message, the price… or “The Promise, The Price, and The Power of Redemption.” And when you think about it, God, the Father, made many promises. And then Jesus, the Son, paid the price for redemption. Jesus’ blood bought our forgiveness, our healing, our freedom, our peace, our prosperity. Jesus’ blood paid the price. The same blood that bought your forgiveness, bought your healing. The same blood that bought your peace, bought your prosperity. Amen? The same blood that bought your salvation, bought your freedom. Thank God for the blood of Jesus. Amen? Jesus paid it all, and so we’ve been… All this week, we’ve been… Actually, on the first point of the message, on the promises of redemption. Thank God the Bible is a book of redemption. You know, the Bible begins in a garden with God and the Bible ends in a garden with God. And the Bible actually talks about this in Revelation. I want to go there, and you can stay where you’re at if you want to. But Revelation, we can go to this. Revelation 2:7 says, “To him who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will eat, give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” He’s saying, “To those who overcome, I’m gonna give to eat of the tree of life.” You know, the Bible begins with man in paradise with God, which is in the midst of the paradise with God. Do you know paradise is not found in the lifestyles of the rich and the famous? Paradise is not found on some South Sea island. Paradise is not found on a beach. Paradise is found in knowing Jesus Christ. And if you know Jesus, praise God, you’ve got a home in paradise, you’ve got a home in glory land that outshines the sun. That’s amazing. If we go to Revelation 22, the very last chapter of the last book of the Bible, Revelation 22 says this, in Verse 1 through Verse 3, it says, “He showed me a pure river of the water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it on either side of the river there was a tree of life, which bear 12 manor of fruit and yielded her fruit every month, and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God in the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will see Him and serve Him, and they will see His face, and His name will be in their foreheads. There will be no night there. They will need no candle, neither light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light, and they shall reign forever and ever.” See, paradise begins. Amen? In our relationship with God. And in the beginning, God created the heaven, He created the Earth, He created everything in it. And then after he did that, He made a beautiful, very beautiful garden. And then He made man. He made man in His own image, His own likeness, and gave him dominion, and told him to multiply, and replenish the Earth, and take dominion. And He only gave him really one command. “Do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which is in the midst of the paradise, God.” And what did man do? Man went and ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. There were two trees in the middle of this garden. And there were, I believe, literally thousands of trees that man could eat from. There was the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But because Adam made the wrong choice, he knew what he was doing. Eve was deceived, but Adam knew what he was doing. So, the responsibility ultimately lies with Adam. Adam sold humanity out. Adam had dominion and he lost his dominion, lost his authority. We call it the fall of man. And when Adam sinned and ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, that opened the floodgates of sickness, of sorrow, of disease, of lack, all these anxiety, all of these things, poverty, they all came from the fall of man. But, Jesus came as the second Adam. The Bible, actually, in 1 Corinthians 15, calls Jesus the second Adam. Jesus came in as the second Adam to redeem mankind or humanity from what we lost. And He paid the price of sin with His own blood, and He restored us to a God-given position of authority. So now, we’re to get back everything that Adam lost. And the only enemy that’s not been put under our feet today is the enemy of physical death. And Jesus will put that under our feet when He comes again. And so Adam lost authority, Adam lost dominion. But, Jesus came to give us authority back and to restore our dominion. And we’re going back to paradise. We’re going back to the tree of life. We’re going back to the throne of God. We’re going back to the river of life. And it says, “There shall be no more curse.” That’s full circle, that’s complete redemption. So, the Bible is a book of redemption. We talked about many of these promises. I want you to go ahead and read the one that I’ve given you there, Aaron. And go ahead and read that.

  Micah what?

  Chapter 4, Verse 10.

Micah 4:10 says, “Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in birth pangs: for now you shall go forth from the city, you shall dwell in the field into Babylon you shall go. There, you shall be delivered. There, the Lord will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.”

Amen, the Lord is gonna redeem us from the hand of our enemies. We read a scripture earlier this week in Psalm 89, and it is so powerful. And God said, “I’m gonna beat down your enemies before your face.” Man, some of you may be facing some challenges, but you got promises of this new covenant, and you need to stand on Him. In Psalm 89:34, it’s talking about the covenant, but it says in Psalm 89:23, “I will beat down his foes before his face and plague them that hate him. But my faithfulness and my mercy will be with him. And in my name, his horn shall be exalted.” Before that, in Verse 17 and 18, he says, “For you are the glory of their strength. And in your favor, our horn will be exalted, for the Lord is our defense and the holy one of Israel is our king.” Praise God for redemption. Praise God for this new covenant. Psalm 89:34, “My covenant, will I not break nor alter the thing that has gone out of my lips.” You know, we read this promise yesterday in Isaiah 54:17, that no weapon formed against you will prosper. And every tongue that rises against you in judgment, the Lord will condemn. Somebody who’s watching me right now, you’ve been facing major challenges. There are accusations against you that are not true. And the Lord says this, “You trust me, you put your confidence, you put your faith in me. No weapon formed against you is gonna prosper. And every tongue that rises against you in judgment, the Lord is gonna condemn, for your righteousness is of me,” says the Lord. And you take that word, Isaiah 54:17, and you read it, and you pray it, and you keep believing and speaking that word. And you’re gonna see the victory where there’s been false accusations that have been made against you. It’s gonna be found out that these are false, and God is going to vindicate you. So, you trust in the Lord, you put your confidence in Him, and God is gonna bring you through this. And when you get through this, you’re gonna be better than you’ve ever been before. Amen.

  Praise God.

Thank God for promises. Thank God. You know what? We got a Bible full of promises that we can believe. We got another promise of redemption. It’s in Hosea 13:14.

It says here, “I will ransom them from the power of the grave. I will redeem them from death. O death, I will be your plagues. O grave, I will be your destruction. Pity is hidden from my eyes.”

Amen. So, man, I’ve heard that before, haven’t you, Aaron?

  Yeah, Paul quotes that.

In 1 Corinthians 15 when he is talking about the resurrection, and we were just talking about that where it’s 1 Corinthians 15 that calls Jesus the second Adam. And Jesus, the second Adam, came. It says, “The first Adam was made a life-giving soul.” I actually… Or the first Adam was made a living soul. And in 1 Corinthians 15, I believe that’s why Adam failed in the garden, was because he was living out of his soul, his mind, his will and emotions. And we don’t live by our intellect; some people try to. But the last Adam says was made a quickening spirit, a life-living spirit. You need to live from your spirit.

A lot of people live out of their soul, just live out of their emotions. Even the world really promotes that. If you feel something, that’s how you need to live just based upon your feelings. And if you think something’s real to you, just live that way. And that’s very dangerous ’cause your feelings are not truth. The Bible is truth. God is the author of truth.

  Amen.

And people aren’t as smart as they think they are. A lot of people are pretty dumb.

  Yeah.

  And compared to God, everyone’s-

  Yeah, nobody’s-

  Not smart at all.

You know, some people try to trust in their own intellect, and I just don’t believe it’s good. We need to trust in the Lord and lean not to our own understanding. The Bible actually talks about that in Proverbs 3:5-6. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your past. And if you’ll trust in the Lord instead of trusting your own intellect, God will do things for you in the spirit that are far beyond where your natural mind can take you.”

I love what you’re talking about the first Adam and the second Adam, how Jesus is called the second Adam. What God really did in Jesus… What He did in Jesus, He wants to do in every man.

Amen. Amen, when God was working on Christ, he was working… Actually, in Christ, He was working. When God was working in Christ, He was working on us, and God did in Christ what he wanted to do in every man. And that’s what he did. Jesus actually came, lived sinless, holy, perfect, and pure and took our sin. This is what redemption is. He paid the price, went to the Cross, paid, shed His blood, He said, “It is finished,” shed his blood, paid the price of redemption. And then God raised Him from the dead and made Him Lord. And Jesus, when He was Lord, He said, He said this in Revelation 1:18, He said, “I am he who lives and was dead. Behold, I am alive forevermore.” Amen. And I have the keys of hell and death. The devil does not have the keys of hell. The devil does not have the keys of death. Jesus is Lord over death and hell and the grave. He’s Lord of heaven, He created all things. He’s Lord of the Earth. Jesus was Lord in every realm when He walked on Earth. Lord over sin, Lord over sickness, Lord over lack, Lord over demons, Lord over disease. Jesus is Lord. And then He went to the grave. And because He had no sin, He conquered the devil and was raised victorious. And now, Jesus is Lord of heaven, Jesus is Lord of Earth, and Jesus is Lord of the grave. And when He is Lord of heaven, Earth, and the grave and He lives in you, you’ve got the Lord of heaven, Earth, and the grave living in you and you’ve got eternal victory on the inside of you. So, keep your confidence, keep your faith in Jesus. Amen? We’re gonna be back right after this break, and we’re gonna continue to share some more promises of redemption. You don’t wanna miss the last part of this podcast, Blessings. Friends, thanks so much for being with us today.   I came kicking and screaming because I thought if I came to a word of faith church, I’d find people huffed up with pride saying, “Look at me. I’m full of faith.” And when I got here, I found humility, real people that were going deeper. They knew the word, they loved Jesus. And it was an amazing experience for me. I just feel like I’m in family.

Friends, I’m so glad that you stayed with us. We’ve been talking about redemption and talking about how Jesus, really, is the fulfillment of redemption. And there’s some prophecies actually in Luke 2:38 when Jesus was a baby and he was being dedicated at the temple. When Anna, the prophetess, saw Him, she spoke some words over Him. Do you wanna read that, Aaron, in Luke 2:38?

It says, “And coming in that instance, she gave thanks to the Lord and she spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.”

Praise God. So people in Israel were looking for redemption. And when Jesus, when Joseph and Mary brought Jesus into the temple to dedicate him, Anna, the prophetess, happened to come in. And she prophesied to those who were looking for redemption in Israel. Basically, she was saying, “Here’s the redeemer. He is right here.” Praise God. Thank God we have redemption. Thank God Jesus has already come. And we’re gonna talk about this more in next week’s broadcast. Today, we talked about promises of redemption. And this week, we’ve been talking all week about promises of redemption. There are so many promises of redemption. But next week, we’re gonna talk about the price of redemption, which is the blood. Jesus has already shed his blood, He has already paid for our redemption. And then we’re not only gonna talk about the price of redemption, that it is finished, the work is done, it is complete. There’s nothing more that we need to do. Just believe it so we can receive it. But we’re gonna talk about the power of redemption. And that is the power of the Holy Spirit. Because the promise of redemption was made and the price of redemption has already been paid, we can walk in the power of redemption today, we can see the power of the Holy Spirit manifest in our life today. And it’s the Holy Spirit that brings about redemption, that works redemption in our life. So I thank God for that and it’s gonna be powerful. Jesus talked about redemption. And in Luke 21:28, He was actually prophesying, we might say, or he was given some words of wisdom about the future, what was gonna happen when he’s coming back. And different signs, different things. But in Luke 21:28, Jesus made a statement concerning redemption. Do you wanna read that, Aaron?

Yeah, it says here, “Now, when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads because your redemption draws near.”

So Jesus began to talk about different signs of His coming, and then He began to talk about different things that are gonna happen. And He actually started talking about the destruction of Jerusalem. And so when you read, this is Luke 21, but you read this in Matthew 24, they’re kind of similar. Jesus was actually answering three questions. He was talking about, number one, when is the temple gonna be destroyed? This was 33 A.D., just prior to his death that he’s talking about this. And the temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. So as he said, this temple’s, there’s not gonna be left one stone upon another. Then, they said, “What are the signs of your coming?” So, He talked, first of all, about the signs of His coming. And then they said, “And the signs of the end of the world.” And I believe He’s talking here about some of these same things, the signs of His coming, when the temple’s gonna be destroyed, and the end of the world. And so in Luke, He’s kind of lumps them together in Luke 21. He says in Verse 25, “There will be distress of nations with perplexity.” You know what? Nobody has the answers to the problems of the world. The Democrats don’t have the answers to the problems of the world. The Republicans don’t have the answers to the problems of the world. The UN does not have the answers to the problems of the world. The United States of Americas does not have the answers to the problems of the world. But, Jesus holds the answers to the problems of the world. Amen? And ultimate redemption is in Jesus Christ. Now, I thank God for our nation. I thank God for our nation that was founded on godly principles. I thank God for the gospel because I believe that the foundation of our nation was founded in the truths of the scripture and in the gospel. So I thank God for that, but still, did you know what? Jesus is the desire of all nations. The Bible calls Him the desire in Haggai 2. The desire, God said, “I’m gonna shake the heavens and the Earth.” He said, “The silver is mine and the gold is mine. And in this place, I’m gonna bring peace.” And He says, “And the desire of all nations will come.” When he says that, He’s talking about Jesus. Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus is the anointed one. Jesus is the Savior of the world. And so He says, “There’s gonna be distress of nations with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring, men’s hearts will fail them for fear.” This has happened before, but I believe it’ll happen in the future even more. And looking after those things which are coming in the Earth for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Men’s arts are gonna fail them for fear because of these different things happening on the Earth. And He says, “When they see the son of man coming in a cloud and with power and great glory, Jesus is gonna come.” Now, there’s two aspects of His coming. In one aspect, Jesus is coming to receive His church, and that’s something that we hope for as the church. It’s called the blessed hope. The glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. We’re looking forward that with great hope and anticipation. Thank God if you’re a believer. But the other one is really talking about not only is He coming to save the church, but He’s coming to judge the world, and He’s gonna be revealed to the world as a judge. There are many prophecies that talk about this. And He says, “When these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your eyes for your redemption draws near.” Praise God. Our hope is in Jesus. And I thank God that we know Jesus as our Savior, as our Lord. And I thank God that we have the great privilege and opportunity of sharing the message of Jesus. When we talk about redemption and the promises of redemption, Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of redemption. And without Jesus, there would be no redemption.

I like that it says, “Your redemption draws near.” Earlier in the week, we talked about how redemption is past, present, and future.

  Amen.

You see that our redemption draws near. Jesus is coming again.

Yeah, we have been saved. Our spirit has already been saved. Our soul is being saved.

Yeah, don’t be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Your mind is part of your soul, so that has to be an ongoing thing. You have to wash and regenerate.

Right. You have to constantly your renew your mind because we’re in a world that is really filthy. It’s dirty, so you have to constantly have your mind renewed. Praise God? And then not only has our spirit already been redeemed, it’s already been saved. And I can show you scripture after scripture we’ve already been delivered. Our soul is being delivered. Galatians 1:4, “Jesus gave Himself for us that He might deliver us from this present evil world, but we trust we’re yet gonna be delivered.” And that’s all in 2 Corinthians 1:9-11 So at salvation past, present, and future; redemption past, present, and future. So, redemption, there’s many promises of redemption: some which have been fulfilled, some which haven’t been fulfilled. And then the price of redemption, of all redemption past, present, future is the blood of Jesus. It’s the blood of Jesus that singularly, wholly, completely paid the price of redemption. There is no more sacrifice that needs to be made. The price has already been paid. But yet we are looking for a future aspect of redemption when Jesus comes again. And the Bible actually talks about this aspect of redemption, and that’s what Jesus is talking about there in Luke 21. But in 1 Peter 1:3, Peter says, “Blessed be God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy, we’ve been born again to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus from the dead to an inheritance.” We have a future tense, “We have an inheritance right now,” but it’s also future. “Inheritance that’s incorruptible, undefiled, and fades not away, reserved.” See that word reserved? That’s talking about the future aspect of redemption in heaven for you. Jesus said, “I’m gonna go away and come again that I might receive yourself. I’m gonna make a place for you.” When He said, “I’m gonna make,” Jesus is not in heaven laying bricks. Jesus made a place for us in heaven by shedding His blood and by taking His blood to the heavenly throne room where it constantly cries out in the presence of the Father that we are redeemed. He says, “To an inheritance, incorruptible, undefiled, that faith’s not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God.” We are kept by the power of God to salvation through faith. Or we could say, “We’re kept by the grace of God through salvation, through faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.” See that there is salvation that is in the future? Future tense redemption. And He says, “We rejoice in this salvation.” We’ve had some trials, some problems, but He goes on to say, “We receive the end of our faith, even the salvation of our souls.” So, our spirit has been saved, our soul is being saved, of which salvation, the prophets have inquired and searched diligently and prophesied of the grace that should come unto you. Thank God we’ve got a grace that’s coming to us. Not only have we received grace. Are we receiving grace? But there’s gonna be a grace that’s revealed us when Jesus comes again. Marvelous. The promises of redemption. And so thank God for redemption that’s in Christ. Aaron, say a few words, and then turn it back to me and I’ll close it out.

Yeah, I just love that we’re really diving into what it means to be redeemed, to be bought with the precious blood of Jesus. And I just wanna encourage you today. When God redeemed you, when he bought you back with the blood of Jesus, it didn’t just pay the debt, it actually overpaid. So, you were given an inheritance, and that overpayment is what empowers us to live the Christ’s life.

  And the victory.

We can live in the victory.

  Amen.

  Amen.

So, thank God for redemption. Thank God the price has already been paid, the payment’s already been made. And there’s no more that we need to do, we just believe it. You’ve gotta believe in order to receive salvation. You’ve gotta believe in order to receive forgiveness of your sins. You gotta believe. It’s already paid for. But, if you wanna receive the promises, you gotta believe them. And if you don’t believe Him, you know what? You just do without Him. God loves you. But you know what? It’s up to you. He’s not gonna believe for you. Believing is up to you.

  Amen.
