In Christ Realities Part 8 Transcription

Praise God, friends. I’m so glad that you tuned into the broadcast. I have my son Aaron. We’re talking about today how we begin to walk out the reality of who we are in Christ. And God wants you to walk out the victory that He already won for you when Jesus died and rose again. And when you renew your mind to who He is and who you are, you can begin to walk out what He has for you, blessings. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re with us today. We are talking today about the process of identity and identifying with Jesus is a lifelong process, I believe once you’re born again. And we talked about, number one, we receive a new identity when we’re born again, but then we realize our new identity as we renew our mind in the word of God. And we talked about that the last couple days. And we’re gonna begin to talk about today how we walk that out. And we need to walk it out. We need to walk out the victory that Jesus has one for us. The Bible says in Colossians 2:6, “As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in Him, rooted, built up in Him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving,” amen. So you need to see some people that they’re walking it out. It’s not good enough just to receive the life of the Spirit. You need to walk it out. And Galatians chapter 5 talks about, you have the fruit of the Spirit, but it says, I think it’s verse 25, after he talks about this is the work of flesh, this is through the Spirit. Paul says this, he says, if you therefore have received the spirit so walk ye, walk in Him, we walk it out, praise God, walk in the Spirit. So we have the Spirit of Christ in us, but we need to walk in it. And if you don’t ever renew your mind in the word of God, you’ll never walk it out. But we talked for a couple of days about renewing our mind, the renovation of our mind, changing the way that we think by meditating the word of God, by praying in the Holy Ghost. And another way is listening to people that where it’s really working in their life. And today we’re gonna talk about how we walk it out. And number one, I think we’ve gotta realize who Jesus is. And then once we realize who He is, we begin to realize who we are. So we’re gonna begin here in Matthew chapter 16. And Jesus asked this question of His disciples. Aaron, you talked about in John chapter 14, if you read the words in black, how Jesus disciples had been with Him for three years nearly at this point and yet they still making some crazy statements. Phillip said, “Oh, if You just show us the Father, it’d be sufficient.” And Thomas said… All these different things. But in Matthew chapter 16, about the same time, it says in verse 13, “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, ‘Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?’ And they said, ‘Some say You’re John the Baptist: some say Elijah; or Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.'” But then Jesus rephrased the question in verse 15. But He said, “And but who do you say that I am?” You know what? It does not matter what everybody else says about Jesus. What really matters is your personal revelation of who Jesus is. “And Peter spoke up and he said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ And Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say unto you, that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. that whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. Whatever you will loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.'” And so Jesus begin to minister to Peter and said, “Peter, you got a revelation. You didn’t get this knowledge on your own. But this came by revelation from the Holy Spirit that I am the Christ, the Son of the living God, that I am the Messiah.” And so the first thing that we really need to get a revelation is that Jesus is Lord, amen. That He’s the Christ, that He’s the Messiah, that He’s the Savior, and that God made Jesus Lord when He raised Him from the dead. Paul talks about that in Romans 10:8-10, “The word is near you, even in your heart, in your mouth, that is, the word of faith that we preach that if you will confess,” it’s not what somebody else confesses. What are you confessing about Jesus.

I like that Jesus first asks who do men say that I am? And that there are a lot of different things that people are saying about Jesus. Even today there’s a lot of different things that people think about God. Some people say there is no God. Some people think, well, maybe there is, but we just don’t really know. Some people might say, well, there’s a God, but if He was good, why would He do all these bad things or allow bad things to happen? Doesn’t-

Well, they don’t know what the Bible says.

They don’t. And, some people like, what do they say about the Bible? Some people say different things about the Bible. Some people mock it. Some people ridicule it. Some people… But what do you say?

Amen.

What do you believe? What do you-

I believe in the scripture is inspired. I believe that the Bible is God’s rule of life, of faith, of conduct. And we get our doctrine from it. We understand how to live from it. David said, “Thy word, have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.” He said, I have greater understanding of my teachers because I’m meditating in your precepts. Thank God for the word of God. It’s changed my life. I grew up and you wanna talk about set up to succeed. We didn’t know what the Bible said really in the church I grew up in. We got saved there, but we didn’t know much else besides that. But we were taught that the Bible is the word of God. So when Andrew Wommack came when I was 14 years old and came to our town and began to hold Bible studies in Southeast Colorado, when almost nobody knew him back in those days, man, we were set up to succeed because if it was in the Bible, we believed it. And so I remember the first time that I went to his meeting, and I remember he led his own songs, played a 12-string guitar, and then he hooked up this mic to this little marantz single cassette, they plugged it in and started to record. And then he held his Bible in his hand and just like this and the Holy Spirit said, listen to this man, he knows what he’s talking about. Man, I started listening. I was born again. I had the Spirit of Christ in me. But I started listening and this is what came to me, is you don’t have to be sick and poor and defeated by the devil, but you can believe God. And you know what? My life begin to get better when I begin to believe the word of God. Man, I wish everybody had that opportunity. I’m trying to make it known to as many people as I can, that you can have a victorious life through Jesus.

You’re always better off believing God and trusting in His promises than not. 100% of the time, I really believe that you are better off believing God, believing the Bible, believing in all of His promises than not.

Amen. We need to believe the word of God. So who is Jesus? He is the Christ. He is the Son of the living God. If we go into the book of Colossians, I love the book of Colossians. And Paul begins to talk about Jesus in verse 15 through verse 17. And He says, who is the image of the invisible God? Jesus is the visible representation of the invisible God. You talked about how a lot of people don’t even really know who God is. A lot of people account all these evil things to God, but they don’t… What evil did Jesus do when He worked in the earth? How many people did Jesus make sick? None, zero. How many did He healed? 14 times that said they brought unto Him all sick people with all kinds of diseases and He healed them all. Jesus came to put a face on God. He came to show us The Father. When Philip asked Him in John 14, said, “Show us the Father and it’ll be sufficient.” What Jesus say? He said, “You’ve been with Me so long, and you say, ‘Show us the Father’? He had seen Me seen the Father.” John 1:18, “No man has seen God at any time, but the only begotten Son who’s comes from the bosom of the Father.” He has declared Him. He has revealed Him. He has openly made Him known. So Jesus is the image of the invisible God. Verse 16 says, “For by Him were all thing created, that are in heaven, in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him. And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.” Jesus is Lord of creation. Jesus created everything. He is Lord of heaven. Praise God. That’s the good news. Amen. We need to understand who He is. Then he talks about who He is on the earth. Aaron, why don’t you read verses 18 through verse 23.

It says, “And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight. If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you have heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”

So he says, first of all, Jesus is the Lord of heaven. He created all things. Then he says, Jesus is the Lord of earth. He came to the earth and Jesus was Lord in every situation. Lord over sin, Lord over sickness, Lord over disease, Lord over devils, Lord over storms, Lord over lack. I mean, Jesus was Lord in every area when He walked on the earth. But then when you believe on Him, it tells us who we are, praise God. We were enemies in our mind by wicked works, but now we’ve been reconciled. We’ve been restored the fellowship of Jesus. And then it says, not only who I was, I was alienated, but now who I am, He presents me holy and unblameable and unreprovable in His sight. Boy, we need to know who Jesus says we are. Another person’s head again, is the wrong place to have your happiness. And if you get God’s, God has a good opinion of you. And then he says this, where we’re going, “If we continue in the faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel.” Praise God, where we’re going is a lot more important than where we came from. Amen.

The gospel should always bring hope-

Hallelujah

to people.

So he’s saying, Jesus is Lord of heaven created all things. He’s Lord of earth when He walked on the earth, died on the cross for our sin.

Lord of the church. He’s the Lord of the church.

Yeah, yeah, He’s Lord of the church and then he says, He’s Lord over the grave. And he begins to talk about this in verse 9 and verse 10 of Colossians 2, “In Him dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” And he talks about how we identify with Him in baptism in verse 12. And then Aaron read verse 13 through verse 15 of Colossians chapter 2.

It says, “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us.”

Wow.

“And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

Amen. Jesus disarmed principalities and powers. King James says, He spoiled, same thing. Principalities and powers made a show of them openly. So Jesus is not only Lord of heaven creating all things, He’s Lord of the earth when He walked on. Lord over sin, Lord over sickness, Lord over demons, Lord over death, amen. But then He went to the grave and He’s Lord of the grave. Boy, Satan is not what he used to be, doesn’t have the power he used to have. Jesus took captivity captive, Ephesians 4:8 says, and gave gifts to men, hallelujah. It says here, He spoiled principalities and powers. He says in Revelation 1:18, “I am He who lives and was dead and I have the keys of hell and death.” Jesus has the keys of hell and death. Jesus is Lord of heaven creating all things. Lord of eternity past. Lord of earth when He walked on the earth. Lord over sin, sickness, death, demons, disease. Lord in every realm. Lord over the grave. Lord of eternity future. Jesus is Lord. Praise God. And when you believe that, it changes how we live our life. We’re gonna come back. In the last part of this broadcasting, we’re gonna talk about when you understand who Jesus is, it changes how you walk, praise God. We’re not to walk like little sick sinners, like little worms. We’re gonna walk like victors in Christ. Amen. Praise God. So we’ll be back right after this one. Friends, I’m so glad you’ve been watching. Today we’ve been teaching on the subject of redemption and who we are in Christ. This is some of my best teaching. In fact, I got a revelation of this over 40 years ago in Andrew Wommack’s meetings when I was just a child and it revolutionized my life. And I believe if you get a revelation of who you are in Christ and what happened in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, it will literally transform your life. And so we have a lot of great teaching on “Redemption”, what Jesus did for us in His death, burial and resurrection, and who we are in Christ. I encourage you to get this teaching. I believe just like it transform my life, it will transform your life. So get on the internet, give us a call. We’d love to hear from you. Thank you so much, and God bless you richly as you by His word first place. Praise the Lord, friends. I’m so glad that you stayed with us and we’ve been talking about who Jesus is. He’s Lord of heaven, Lord of the earth, Lord of the grave and now He lives in us. Boy, when you begin to understand that, you can’t help it, your life will change. And that’s what he says. We’re gonna go back, we’ve been in Matthew 16 and Colossians chapter 1 and Colossians 2. But we’re gonna go back to Colossians 2:6-8. And it says, “As you therefore have received Jesus the Lord,” man, you’ve received Jesus the Lord, “so walk ye in Him, rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith, as you have been taught.” Some of you haven’t been taught to get established in the faith. And he says, “abounding therein with thanksgiving”. Thanksgiving and joy are the fruit of faith. And when you’re really walking in faith, you’ll be walking in thanksgiving, you won’t have this victim mentality, you won’t be whining and complaining about what you don’t have. You’ll be thanking God and you’ll be operating in joy. And then he says, “Beware lest any man spoil you,” cheat you right from… Read verse 8, Aaron, in the New King James.

It says, “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.”

Amen. The devil is trying to cheat you. The world will try to cheat you. Amen. Religion will try to cheat you. He says, “Beware lest any man cheat you through philosophy.” Philosophies that aren’t establishing the word of God.

Or against the word of God.

Yeah, empty deceit.

There are philosophies out there that aren’t gonna last. The truth of who Jesus is that He is Lord of all that’s gonna outlast any-

Amen.

any false philosophy, any false theories, any false-

The truth of the word of God, Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My word shall endure forever,” Matthew 24:35. “For ever, O Lord, is Your word established.” It talks about that in Psalm 119, I think it’s verse 89. But Psalm 119 says that, praise God. Jesus is Lord and the word is the truth. Man, if you believe that, you’re on a good foundation. You need to keep believing that. So he says, “Beware lest any man spoil you,” cheat you, “through philosophy, through empty deceit, after the tradition of men.” Mark chapter 7 talks about this, but Jesus said, “By your tradition, you make the word of God of no effect.” There are people because they have tradition they get offended at the word of God. We got people that come to this church sometimes and get offended because we’re preaching the word of God because we’re preaching the promises. Well, I’m gonna keep preaching the word. I keep believing it. I get people mad at me for preaching healing, mad at me for preaching prosperity.

Well, there’s people who have a, the Bible says they have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof. And I’ve even seen other, like here locally, like I’ve seen articles written in the local newspaper by supposedly Christian writers that criticize Andrew Wommack Ministries and criticize churches like ours.

That’s a nuts.

But they’re very attracted to churches that are very watered down. They don’t have any issue with churches that don’t really preach the lordship of Jesus, that He is the way, that He’s the exclusive way to heaven, that preach the power of God, that preach in healing. We need to preach the Bible, we need to preach the full and not worry about-

Amen.

people who just appear to be godly, but.

Yeah, after the tradition of men, Jesus said, Mark, chapter 7, “By your traditions, you make the word of God of no effect.” And I got a lady that comes here, she’s been here for years, but some of her best friends came with her for a while and then they got offended because they brought some unbeliever with them that was offended over the word. Well, if you get offended of the word, get offended, I’m gonna keep preaching the word, amen. And I’m not trying to offend people, but sometimes the word is offensive because people’s thinking is warped by the world. And man, we need to think like the word. He says, after the tradition of men, after the basic principles of the world. Man, we don’t wanna think like the world, act like the world, talk like the world, be like the world. We need to think like Jesus. We need to be like who God wants us to be, live like God wants us to be. He says, and not after Christ. Jesus and His word are one. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, without Him was not anything made that was made.” Praise God. We need to think like the word.

Amen.

We need to let the word of God determine the way we think. Praise God. We need to renew our mind in the word. We’ve been talking about this all week. But when you begin to let the word renew your mind and understand who Jesus is and understand who you are, praise God, then you can begin to walk like Jesus wants you to walk. The Bible says this in 1 John 2:6, it says, “He that saith he’s in Him ought to walk, even as He walked.” Well, you’re not gonna walk like Jesus if you don’t know who He is. And if you don’t know who He says you are, you’re not gonna walk like that. Let me read this in 1 John 2:6, “He that says he abides in Him ought to himself also walk as Jesus walked.” Man, you begin… If you’re born again and you’re abiding in Christ, we need to… Jesus said, “Abide in Me, for you can’t bring forth fruit on your own,” amen. We need to rest in who Jesus is. We need to rest in what the word of God says. Who cares what someones think?

I love 1 John 2:5, just backing up one verse, it says, “Whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.”

Amen. What he’s saying is, this is the fruit of your Christian life. When you know Jesus, when you know the word, you can’t help but live different. If you’re not living different, do you really know Jesus? Do you really love the word? Amen. The word will cause you. Jesse Duplantis is a good friend of mine, and I was telling him about someone else, telling him about a certain situation we were dealing with. And he said, what’s wrong with him? Aren’t they born again? And you could tell he was just furious. If you’re born again, you don’t live like that. Jesse live worldly before he got saved. But boy, when you get born again, when Jesus lives in you, some of this worldliness just, man, it is… That’s not who I am. That’s not where I wanna go. That’s not what I wanna do. Praise God. I talked to Jesse about how faith works, really, because he made this statement most of the time in the realm of faith, I just made a decision and God backed it. And he said, well, it’s because I’m born again and Christ is living in me. So when you make a decision outta your born against spirit, what do you really wanna do outta your born against spirit when you make a decision, glory to God. God’s in that. Because God’s living in you. You gotta know the difference between your spirit and your flesh, of course, because the flesh is sometimes not very willing. But praise God, we need to let the Spirit rule us.

Amen.

The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. So let the Spirit rule you. Live from your spirit, live from faith, live from Christ in you. Paul says, this is the mystery that’s been hidden from every, and this is what we’re preaching on from every age and until Jesus Christ in you, the hope of glory. He says, where for? He goes on to say, that’s Colossians 1:27, this is a mystery that’s been hidden from ages and generation, which I’m preaching Christ in you, the hope of glory. He says in verse 29, “Wherefore I labor according to His working, that works in me mightily.” He says in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” He says in Philippians 2:13, “It is God who works in us both the will and to do His good pleasure.” That’s spirit, soul, and body. God is working in me that’s in my spirit. Both the will that’s in my soul. My mind, my will and my emotions to do that’s in my body. Man, let the Lord work. Amen. Hallelujah.

That’s awesome.

Praise God. We’re a new creation in Christ. We need to renew our mind to who we are in Christ.

I like the Bible says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” When you have a strong relationship with God, when He’s your delight, when you are in the right place with Him, He’s gonna shape your desires.

Amen.

And you’re gonna know when a desire is from Him, and not just your own.

Just a worldly desire. And you can know by the word, but you can also know as you delight yourself in Him, that’s Psalm 37:4. Delight yourself in the Lord. I believe you can delight in God and He can delight in you. Psalm 37:23, “The steps of a good man ordered by the Lord: and He delights in His way.” I believe our steps can be ordered by the Lord. He delights in us and we delight in Him. It’s a pleasure to walk in the things of God. I get to do this. I get to live for Jesus. I get to love, I get to give, I get to read the word. And I get to minister to people. I get to do all this. I’m not doing this ’cause I have to do it. I come to church almost more than anybody and I want to, praise God. I was glad when they said unto me, let us go to the house of the Lord. It’s my desire, it’s my pleasure because God is living in me.

That’s awesome.

Man, what a marvelous revelation Jesus lives in us. Praise God. Man, you get that revelation, you begin to live in a different way. Praise God. Aaron, share something here.

Yeah, we just have a minute left. I just feel like God wants to give you your heart’s desires. So I believe when you spend time with Him, when you pray, when you spend time in the word, when you just think about who He is and all the good things He has for you, He’s gonna start shaping your desires. He’s gonna lead you and guide you with His Holy Spirit. And I believe that as He shapes your desires that He’s gonna accomplish those things in your life.

Amen. Well, I’m gonna pray with you before we go. Heavenly Father, I thank You for all those who are watching us today. I thank You Jesus, for those who know You, that You’re living in them and You’re creating in them a will to do Your plan and Your purpose.
