Healing Covenant

God doesn’t change– He stays the same! All throughout the Bible, we see that it is clearly God’s will to heal. When the Israelites left Egypt, God told them that He is the LORD who heals them. There are so many promises in the Bible for healing. All of these promises still remain true and are part of God’s covenant with believers through the finished work of Jesus. If you are a follower of Jesus- you can see that He is a healer. He was either healing someone, going to heal someone, or coming from healing someone. As you listen to these teachings, we know that faith will be stirred in your heart and that your faith will make you well in Jesus’ name!

Healing Covenant Transcript

Praise the Lord, friends! I’m so glad that you’ve tuned into the broadcast today. We have some great things in store. I believe that you’re gonna be blessed. I believe that many people are gonna receive the power of God and receive healing today as they watch the broadcast, so stay tuned. We’ve got great things in store. We’re gonna be talking about how you can know God’s will concerning your healing. God bless you. Friends, I’m so glad that you’re with us. We’re so happy to be sharing the word of God with you. Glad to have Aaron. We’ve been talking all week about “The Healing Covenant.” And praise God, we have a covenant with God. You know what? If you begin to believe the promises of God, your life is gonna be better than if you don’t. Amen? Even if you don’t receive anything, I’m gonna tell you, life is so much better when you believe than when you don’t. You know, years ago, we first heard Andrew Wommack preach in 1978, and my dad had been afflicted as a young man. You know, just after he got outta high school with spinal meningitis, he ended up with epilepsy. He struggled physically. It was really, really negative. But when we got in Andrew womack’s meetings, you know, we started believing for healing health, and we started believing for God’s provision, for God’s promises. And our lives got better and better. My parents’ marriage got better. You know, blessings begin to flow in their life in different areas. And my dad ultimately did not receive his total physical healing while he was here on this earth. But you know what? His life was a lot better because he believed than if he didn’t. And you know, this is what a lot of people fail to receive. Even if you never receive the total manifestation of God’s promise, you’re way better off believing than you aren’t.

Well, it’ll impact you, and it’ll impact people around you as well. When you believe God, when you put your trust in his promises, I mean, the blessing that flows from that, it’s gonna impact you, but there’s gonna be a ripple effect. It’s gonna impact, you know, people in your family. It’s gonna impact your children. I know, you know, you and grandma, after that happened, you just said, “We’re gonna keep believing God. We’re gonna keep trusting God.” And grandma has done well. I know she’s actually been a… I’ve been very close to her over the years. She’s come and visited me when I was in college, comes and visits, stays at my house, hangs out with her great grandkids, with my children, and she’s in her 80s and doing well. She’s had different, some major health things, but she just keeps bouncing back. She has like this resilience within her. And yeah, she’s strong and healthy in her 80s. And man, when you believe God, you’re always better off believing God, trusting in his promises-

  Amen.

than not. And God’s blessed you tremendously, blessed your kids, blessed me and my brothers tremendously. Man, there’s just so much goodness and life and light that comes from believing in the Bible, believing in God’s promises. And I love that we’re talking about healing. You know-

  Amen.

over the past few weeks, just talking about how it’s a covenant.

  Praise God.

You know, it’s so foundational, so important, just so monumental through scripture. It really is a covenant.

  Amen.

And a covenant, it’s like a… It’s relational. It’s God’s relationship with us, with His children, with His sons and daughters. He loves us so much-

  Amen.

that He’s made this part of his covenant with us, based upon who He is.

  Amen.

That he’s the Lord who heals us.

Amen. Aaron, when you were sharing that, I was reminded of Luke 13, and this woman who had a spirit of infirmity, the scripture says, for 13 years. And, you know, she had been very, very sick. This is in verse 11. And Jesus was teaching in a synagogue. She had had this disease so long that she couldn’t even lift herself up.

  18 years.

18 years, excuse me. I was talking about Luke 13. I knew it was 18 years, but.

  18 years.

She had this for 18 years, and she was bowed together and could in no wise… She couldn’t help herself. But Jesus saw her and called her to Him, and He spoke the word to her and said, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And then He laid hands on her, and it says, “Immediately she was made straight and glorified God.”

  So healing glorifies God

  Amen.

  Yeah, sickness doesn’t glorify God.

  Amen.

Some people, man, a lot of people, I’ve heard just crazy teachings on that, that sickness glorifies God. You see that this woman was healed here, and her healing glorified God.

You know, they used the man born blind in John 9 to say that sickness glorifies God, ’cause Jesus said, “This sickness is for the glory of God.” I’m telling you, when the glory of God was, the glory of God was when the man got healed.

  Yeah.

Sickness does not glorify God. My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. My body has been bought with the blood of Jesus, just like my spirit has been bought with the blood of Jesus and the same blood that was shed for my forgiveness. It was shed for my healing.

Well, I love this account in Luke 13. You know, she’s began to glorify God, but it just stirred up this religious demonic spirit within that room. It says in verse 14 that “the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation.” Some people just have this religious spirit, and it’s not of God. And when they hear healing, sometimes even hear testimonies of healing, it just stirs up these demons that people have allowed to be inside of them. And he’s filled with indignation because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. And he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work, therefore come and be healed on them and not on the Sabbath day.” So, and this guy just was very religious and just missed the whole point.

You know what, there’s a lot of people, Aaron, that are religious… A couple of years ago here in Colorado Springs, I heard they were having this deal in a big meeting in Colorado Springs, and they were having a pastor who’s a friend of mine, and he was sharing on he still believes in miracles and stuff today. He operates the power of God. I know him, but man, here’s the Holy Spirit. But then they had another guy, and he was a cessationist, saying that, you know, healing passed away with Jesus and the apostles, and it doesn’t happen anymore. And you know, apostles are still here today, and healing’s still here today. And it’s not only for apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. It’s for all believers. And you know what, I thought, “This is ridiculous.” I could take a couple of people from my church that have been, you know, healed by the power of God and bring them and put them on that stage. And I could put their unbelieving doctors on the stage who said, “This is a miracle.” Man, we’ve had unbelieving doctors say these things are miracles. And we’ve been having these things happen for over 35 years. A full-time pastor, and I had miracles before that when I was just a… I’ve seen too much for you to tell me-

  And after this-

  it’s not real.

you know, religious ruler was filled with the indignation, Jesus spoke up in Luke 13:15, answered him and said, “Hypocrite.” That’s a powerful word. You know, I actually did a study on that word. The only person who uses that word in scripture is Jesus.

  Yeah.

And in the Greek, it means to be an actor. It means you dress up like something, you look like something, you speak like something, but you’re really not. You’re a liar.

  Jesus called it straight.

I don’t wanna be a hypocrite. So He says, “Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall So ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham-“

  Amen.

Man, there’s a blessing of Abraham. You know, Christ became a cursed for us. Galatians 3:13 says this, “He became a curse for us.” That way the blessing of Abraham.

  Amen.

Abraham is a father of faith. We’re sons and daughters, people of faith.

  Amen. Hallelujah.

And there’s blessing that comes from being a son of God, a daughter of God. There’s blessing, there’s covenant rights that are attached to that. And I love what Jesus said here. He makes it so clear what this affliction, that this spirit of infirmity was from. He said, “Satan has bound her.” This wasn’t from God. This wasn’t… You know, ultimately this was the enemy, the one that comes to kill, steal, and to destroy.

It wasn’t good. And it wasn’t from God.

And Jesus just called it like it is, “Satan did this to this woman.” And man, a lot of people, you know, kind of steer clear of talking about healing. And it’s ’cause they don’t wanna talk about where bad things come from. Bad things don’t come from God. They come from the devil. And that’s what Jesus is saying here. This is a bad thing. It came from Satan. “Satan has bound her, think of it, for 18 years. Why should she not be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” Man, He’s like, “Any day is a good day to be healed.” This is what Jesus was saying. Amen.

You don’t have to wait to be healed. Any day is a good day to receive healing. Verse 17, “So when He said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame.” Man, God wants to put to shame these kind of people who preach against healing, who preach against the power of God. Ultimately, man, you should not be ashamed of the gospel “for it is the power of God unto salvation to all who believes to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” And the only parts of the gospel that will work for you are the parts that you’re not ashamed of. Some people are, I have no clue why, but they’re ashamed of healing. They’re ashamed to talk about healing. The healing is part of the gospel. It is part of the power of God. It is part of salvation, it’s part of the atonement. And you should not be ashamed of it.

I’ll tell you why they’re ashamed. In Mark 4, when you read the parable of the sower, it said because persecution and affliction comes because of the word’s sake. These people have no root in themselves, and immediately they’re offended. They’re people who believe the word initially, and they rejoice. But because persecution and affliction comes for the word’s sake, I’m telling you, not everybody out there is as excited about the word and excited about the promises as God is. But you need to change your heart if you’ve been in that crowd. And you need to start believing these promises so they can come to pass in your life. I’m telling you, I haven’t received everything I believed for, but I’ve received lots of it. And I’m believing God today for more than I’ve ever believed for in my life. And you know what? God is not a respecter of persons. He’s only a respecter of faith. And you know what? You can receive the power of God, and you can be healed in your body. Amen? And so this is just a great example that we have from the scripture about how a woman was sick for a long time. 18 years is a long time. But Jesus ministered the power of God. He spoke the word, and He laid hands on her. And you know, there’s at least seven ways that Jesus healed people. But this was the primary, two, is by speaking the word of God and laying hands on the sick. And the Bible actually says, those who lay hands on the sick, “Believers shall lay hands on the sick,” Mark 15, “and they shall recover.” Man, if you need to be healed, I wanna encourage you, if you’re in the Colorado Springs area to come to Charis Christian Center to receive the power of God. You know, we have, this isn’t just me, we got bunches of prayer ministers that pray for people. And we got lots of miracles, not only that we’ve seen, but people in our church have seen. And the word of God’s amazing. And if you’ll believe it, you can receive it. It’ll work for you.

Amen. Yeah, and I just love that in Hebrew 6, you know, it talks about these doctrines that we shouldn’t even discuss or debate anymore. But one of those doctrines is the doctrine of laying on of hands.

Amen. And the Bible says, “Those who lay hands on the sick shall recover.”

  Mm-hmm.

Amen. So, you know what, we’re gonna be back in the second part of this broadcast, and we’re gonna be sharing more on how you can receive healing in your body. So you don’t want to miss the last half of this broadcast. We wanna encourage you to stay tuned, and we’ll be right back after this break. Blessings. Friends, it’s great to have you with us today receiving the word of God, but we have so much more to share. And in these teachings, you can receive them either in downloadable audio or downloadable video off our website at CharisChristianCenter.com.   Last January, I was diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer, and Satia believed, and I believed, coming here last year, that God was gonna heal me. Last month, I was given the pathology report that there’s no cancer in my breasts or my lymph nodes.

Your friend brought you here last year to this conference. You told me, I guess, that your friend was gonna be healed while she was here, and she received prayer, and now she’s got a testimony from a doctor that that’s true, she’s healed.

Friends, I’m so glad that you stayed tuned. We’re gonna start this half of the broadcast in Mark 5. We were in it last week. And earlier, you know, this week, we were sharing part of this. But you know, in Mark 5, there was a woman who had an issue of blood. She had been sick. For 12 years, she had been bleeding. And she had been to the doctor, she wasn’t any better, but rather grew worse. But when she heard of Jesus, she did some things. And you know what? Grace is what God has done. But faith is our part in receiving from God. And if you’re gonna receive from God, you not only need the grace of God, which was manifested and revealed in Jesus, but you need to operate in faith. And so the first thing that she did when she heard is she came to Jesus. And she came to Him because the scripture said, you know, she said within herself, she began to say something. Faith will cause you to say some things. And really, we talked about this quite a bit, you know, how she said, “And by your words, you’re justified, and by your words, you’re condemned.” It’s not what somebody else says about you. It’s what you say about you. You know, I’ve had some… Some of my best friends in the gospel say some terrible things about me. And I thought, “You know what? It doesn’t matter what they say, I love them.” They just don’t know that my mind’s changed, and that’s not who I am. And that’s not where I’m going. And praise God, I begin to receive different things. And now they say totally opposite things about what they used to say. You know, Lester Sumrall said this, he said, “Another person’s head is the wrong place to have your happiness.” And that is the gospel truth. You need to know what God says about you, what Christ says about you, what the word says about you. And then you need to say what God says about you.

  Mm-hmm.

Amen. So she said it, but the next thing is she did it. She came to Jesus, and she touched the hymn of His garment. And when she touched Him, she felt the power of God flow through her.

And in the Greek, that word for touched, it means to really lay hold of, to just grasp and just to keep holding on. So when she touched him, it wasn’t just like a casual type thing, it was very intentional. She was really holding on.

  Amen.

And faith holds on. Faith doesn’t let go. Faith doesn’t give up.

Amen. Faith is very intentional. I love Matthew 15, the Syrophoenician woman.

  She didn’t give up.

No, she came to disciples, and then she came to Jesus, and she said, “Jesus, you know, I got a sick daughter.” And Jesus said, “It’s not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” Jesus basically called this woman a dog. And you know what? She wouldn’t give up. She said, “Yes, Lord, that’s correct.” She agreed. You ought agree with Jesus even if it makes you think He’s kind of tough on you. He’s kind of tough on her in reality. And you know what, she said, “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the…” Faith just looks for one little crack, one opportunity, and it grabs a hold of it.

  Faith doesn’t get offended either.

  No.

You know, a Syrophoenician woman could have gotten offended.

  Yeah, she could have.

It kind of reminded me of Naaman, the Syrian general, you know, he had leprosy, and this Israelite slave in his house told him, you know, that if you go to Israel and and see Elisha, you’ll be healed. So he went to go see Elisha. Elisha wouldn’t even come down to see him.

  No.

Sent his servant down to see him. And Naaman had the temptation to be offended. He actually wanted to be offended.

  Yeah.

But thankfully, some of his servants that were with him said, “Hey, if he had told you to do this great thing, you would’ve done it. But he just told you to go bathe in the Jordan seven times. You ought to just go do it.” So he laid aside his pride, he laid aside his offense, and he did what the man of God said, he did what the word of God said to do, and he received healing.

  Amen.

And it wasn’t about who he was. He wasn’t even a Jew. He was a general  of an enemy army.

  Hallelujah.

Faith isn’t about who you are, where you came from. It’s about, you know, you believing the word of God and doing what it says.

Amen. And when he dips seven times, when he came up the seventh time, it says his flesh was like a baby’s skin. Man, he received a complete miracle. He was dying of leprosy, and he received a complete miracle. Man, we’ve had a lot of people receive complete miracles. You know, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And we have the unchanging word of an unchanging God. If we go back to Mark 5, in Mark 5, this woman with an issue of blood. The first thing is what she said, she said within herself. And she kept on saying, it says that in Matthew 9:21 in the Amplified, that “if I could but touch Him, I’ll be healed.” And then, she did it. She came to Jesus and she laid hold of Him. But the third thing is she felt in her body that she was healed of that place. She received it. You know, the Bible says a lot about receiving. It talks about receiving healing, receiving salvation. It says a lot about receiving the Holy Spirit, receiving the forgiveness of sins over and over, receiving with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save your soul, receiving the crown of life. All these promises, we gotta receive ’em. And I had a man ask me after church, after I preach this, “How can we receive?” He said, “You really didn’t say how we can receive it.” Well, I’ll tell you one way to receive from God is just begin to thank God for it. Just begin to thank God that what God promised you is true. That what you’ve prayed for is done. I believe you get a lot more prayers answered when you start thanking God. And sandwich what you’re asking God in between Thanksgiving.

And I’m really glad that this ministry, we’re not ashamed of preaching the full gospel, the full power of God, all the promises of God. We’re not ashamed of preaching about healing. We’re not ashamed of preaching about the baptism and the Holy Spirit and praying in tongues. We’re not ashamed of these things. If you want it to work for you, you know, you can’t be ashamed. You know, I was saying about Jairus, you know, we’ve been talking from Mark 5 about the woman with the issue of blood. But she approached Jesus in the middle of another story that was developing. You know, Jairus came to Jesus because he had a 12-year-old daughter, which I think is really interesting, you know, his 12-year-old daughter, she was the same age of this woman of the affliction. She had this affliction, issue of blood for 12 years.

  For 12 years.

So Jairus, you know, when he came to Jesus, he wasn’t ashamed. He wasn’t ashamed. He put his faith in Jesus. When you have your faith in Jesus, when you have your faith in the promises of God, you’re not gonna be ashamed. And if you’re ashamed, you’re gonna really, it’s gonna limit you from going to where God wants you to go. So, Jairus, it’s really interesting, and it says in Mark 5:21, it said, “Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him.” And He was by the sea, so there’s a great multitude there. And said, “Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him, earnestly saying, ‘My little daughter lies at the point of death.

  Oh my god.

Come and lay Your hands on her that she may be healed, and she will live.'” You know, Nicodemus was another great, you know, ruler, great person with a title, with a position, and he was so ashamed to come to Jesus. He’d only come to Jesus that night to talk to Him.

  Right.

But you know, Jairus received this miracle because he wasn’t ashamed.

Man, you know, Aaron, you talked about the only part of the gospel that really worked for you is the part you’re not ashamed of. And Jesus on the cross not only took our sin, but Jesus took our shame. And you know, the scripture says in Matthew 10, Jesus said, “If you’ll confess me before men, I’ll confess you before my Father, but whoever will be ashamed of me and my words, I’ll be ashamed of him.” So, I’m not gonna be ashamed of Jesus. I’m not gonna be ashamed of the word of God. I’m not gonna be ashamed of the promises. The promises of God have changed my life. And I thank God at a young age, I was saved when I was eight, but when I was 14 years old, I went to a Bible study taught by Andrew Wommack when almost nobody knew who he was. And I heard for the first time the full gospel. And that night, I went away with this in my heart, that, you know what, thank God I don’t have to be poor, sick, or defeated by the devil. I can believe God. There’s a Bible full of promises I can believe. And I started believing them. And did you know what? That that has revolutionized my life. It was just a short time after that that I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, called to preach, begin to understand who I was in Christ. And listen, my life has got better and better and better. And I haven’t received everything that I believed God for. But listen, I’ve received lots of it. And I’m believing God today for more than I’ve ever believed Him for before. I wanna encourage you, never, ever stop believing God.

And be around people who aren’t ashamed as well. Go to a church where they’re not ashamed of the Bible.

  Amen.

You know, some people are ashamed to preach the Bible. They’re ashamed to say what the Bible says about current issues. Like moral issues, ethical issues, issues that are-

  Political issues.

Yeah, that are clearly, some things are very clearly laid out in scripture. So don’t be ashamed of the word of God. And it’s good to be around people. The righteous are as bold as lions.

There’s this group now, Aaron, and they’re advertising, they advertised in the Super Bowl. And from my understanding, in the Super Bowl, a 30 second ad cost $7 million. And they advertised that Jesus did not minister hate. And I don’t believe that Jesus ministered hate. I believe Jesus was absolutely the love of God. But listen, when it came to religion, read Matthew 23, and just listen to Jesus’ message to the Pharisees and the Sadducees, man. He laid it down, and He just told him how it was. And I’m telling you, religion, just like in Luke 13, just like right here, this man was a very high up religious ruler, but yet he wanted his daughter to be healed so much that he was willing to lay aside his pride and come to Jesus. And he received a miracle. His daughter was raised from the dead. And you know, I’ve had this for years, I’ve had people come from other churches that don’t believe like we do, but they know that we believe, and they’ll come to receive. And I wanna encourage you, praise God, if you’re in the Colorado Springs area, you know, to come to church on a Sunday, come on a Wednesday night, come receive the power of God. Come get filled with the Holy Ghost. Come get healed in your body. Come where, you know what, we’re doing our best to preach the uncompromised truth of God’s word and get people saved, healed, and free, and filled with the Holy Ghost. Amen? And I believe that’s God’s will today.

I wanna encourage you too, you can actually live stream our services. A lot of people actually join us via live stream all around the country, all around the world. So that’s one way you can connect as well. A lot of people end up coming here because for a period of time they were live streaming, and they realized, “Something’s different there.
